Just on a different topic, can I start a petition to bring back Chris & Poi? They were mildly annoying but compared to the green thing & whatsherface they've got now...

sfxmum · 23/01/2009 13:22

Ros Chris and Pui are doing a new show I think called Show me which will be on later this year
and there are 2 new presenters starting soon so not long for Jelly and miss Screechy

slng are you calling me a hairy shorty?

mellow2 · 23/01/2009 13:25

PCW - I meant to say that I think music is a good antidote for stormy/gloomy days. I'm a great fan of populist opera music.

Oops!

rosmerta · 23/01/2009 13:31

sfx, that's a relief! I might have had to boycott CBeebies if they were staying!

slng · 23/01/2009 14:04

sfx - no

I played some CNY tunes for the kiddies, which they liked. I also played a video of lion dance on youtube and they were terrified There's lion dance at the chinese supermarket near us next week, but I guess we won't go! They like the dragon dance though. Strange children.

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/01/2009 21:12

[hugs] CoV - how are you feeling now?

pcworld · 24/01/2009 13:49

Poor Cov - illness is not an option, eh? How are you feeling today? Hope the cold is abating a bit. It's difficult when you don't get a chance to rest. I hope you are boosting yourself with vitamins and also drinking plenty of water. Perhaps it is time to think about a spa weekend away with the girls!

sfxmum · 24/01/2009 14:34

hi all

cov sorry about oversight can't be easy having no break I hope you are feeling better today

pcW is this spa thing an idle thought? could do with something like that even an afternoon would do

positively knackered today and just long for the sofa with my paper and a coffee

hope everyone is well

Its been quiet on here, guess everyone having a busy weekend!

We went over to dh's parents yesterday and took the boys off to the Natural History Museum at Tring. Really good (and free!) & you haven't lived until you've seen the dressed fleas

We might be off to Lollipop or Kew later if anyone wants to meet

sfxmum · 26/01/2009 09:18

good morning all

what fleas?

auntieG sorry can't help with advice but good luck

we will try and get back to week mode and might make it out later sometime around 11/12 not sure where yet

dh left wearing a suit today, has big Westminster meeting but dd not keen on choice of pink tie as it is 'for girls' that will teach him

SJ99 · 26/01/2009 09:23

Morning all

Dressed fleas ?? I'm curious!

Well, the doc free run didn't last v.long, am going today as DS2 eye seems to have taken a turn for the worse DS1 teething like mad again and was coughing all night seems to have terrible cold now.

Am in need of spa therapy

FriarKewcumber · 26/01/2009 09:24

just a very quick sneak on here to revive it on my threads.

So busy at the moment. Working longer hours (even Fridays mornings ) poor DS is very upset by it all and horrifically clingy and I feel guilty. Ho hum such is my lot in life qat the moment.

Hope everyone is well...

rosmerta · 26/01/2009 09:50

Kew, hope things settle down soon, poor ds

Sfx/sj, its 2 fleas wearing a suit & a dress, those Victorians didn't have much to keep them entertained!

Sfx, we'll probably be heading out around that time as well hopefully. Ds1 seems keen on staying at home atm.

pcworld · 26/01/2009 13:34

Spa thing would be lovely - LOVELY!! Must do some research.

Kew, why are you having to work such long hours and how long do you think it will go on for? That's hard for you - hope things improve soon.

SJ - ohhhhh .. sending sympathy. You must be exhaused, and the poor dcs. Does ds1 respond quickly to the likes of calpol?

I went for tour around a school this morning and was walking home chatting with a friend when a woman ran up behind us shouting "I think someone left their bag behind" ... well of course, it was me! When is this going to end, I muse. I hope it is temporary!! At this rate I will soon be known as "the strange woman" in my local area!

FriarKewcumber · 26/01/2009 13:54

am trying to sell company (obviously not singlehandedly) before we run out of money

mygreatauntgriselda · 26/01/2009 14:21

PC I am still chuckling about you getting into the wrong car, and that poor old man

Kew - sounds mega stressful to me No wonder you have turned to religion!

Our priest was saying in his sermon that he never gets time to pray, as he is so busy, and he feels really guilty about it

SJ - is DS1 on ABs eye cream? Perhaps you need to go back t P for different meds?

Ros - a lovely day isn't it - I had all the windoes open and its the first day for weeks we haven't had to have heating on

SFX I was chatting with your DD yeserday and asked what she thinks of Obama. She said "I think he's the best President don't you?"

BTW I love pink ties - think pink looks great on men actually

sfxmum · 26/01/2009 16:08

Kew sorry things are rough at the moment sounds quite worrying without factoring in DS, hope there is a good resolutions soon, how are the platelets?

pcW I have stopped worrying about my wandering brain it only makes it worst

Ros hope you enjoyed the Lollipop dd was firmly in a stray at home mood not even changing out of PJ's , but at least I got stuff done

auntiG yes am thinking of being her agent for pundit on poitical shows

she seems to be working on the rehabilitation of GB

  • mummy what is he doing now that he isn't president?
  • think he is opening a library
  • oh that is so great, I think he might be a nice man now
one likes to be generous and kind but but...
FriarKewcumber · 26/01/2009 16:21

still giggling about another thread re Chinese NY - suggesting she will make some "sushi things" for DC's to take to school for it!!!! Other suggestion was fortune cookies. Think I am probably right in thinking that fortune cookies are not exactly a traditional chinese food (or am I mistaken?)

SJ99 · 26/01/2009 16:42

PCW - oh no, baby brain strikes again!

Auntie - they've taken another swab to check if infection still there as they say his infection may have gone but his tear ducts may be too immature to clear out gunk efficiently, the saga continues...

Kew - sounds stressful, hope long hrs are not prolonged. LOL at CNY thread

Sfx - LOL at minisfx, she's a smart cookie

Had a lovely long walk in this afternoon, nice weather
