SJ99 · 15/01/2009 13:15

Ros - hope DS1 perks up soon

Mellow - glad parathas worked out, yum!

PCW/Sfx - Don't think we'll be going on any major hols this year, not even got the festival to look fwd to this yr

Been to library this morning. DS1 wants to make a jigsaw this afternoon from his Thomas mag as well as play on computer, do his demands ever end?

mygreatauntgriselda · 15/01/2009 13:31

Ros - sorry to hear you and DSs are poorly [hugs]. NYE Party at House of Lords sounds fun!!!

SFX I think my DS1 has been giving your DD secret training in "How to have an Effective Tantrum"!

Mellow - FB: about 95 atm but some pending to middle aged people who don't go on very often (as well as requests to be friends with strange Lebanese men I have never met). Keep finding old friends from years ago, plus new ones

Name dropping slot: Ooooh did I mention I have a meeting with John Bird, the Editor of the Big Issue this arvo?

sfxmum · 15/01/2009 13:32

Ros another day hope you all have a good rest

SJ have niece over to keep child occupied bliss

sfxmum · 15/01/2009 13:33

auntie LOL at tantrum training
is John Bird a Sir now?

mygreatauntgriselda · 15/01/2009 13:36

SFX - Oh maybe? I saw him on TV the other day and he seemed very nice - swears a lot, which always appeals to Irish Catholics like myself

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 15/01/2009 14:16

have met him he talked at our AGM for my old charity. I liked him.

SJ99 · 15/01/2009 14:18

Auntie - you do get to hobnob with such interesting people, perk of the job eh?

Sfx - I'm coming over right now, feel like I need the rest of the day off

rosmerta · 15/01/2009 16:20

Great day for me, have been both sick & wee'd on!

mygreatauntgriselda · 15/01/2009 16:58

Ros - a typical day then eh?

Kew - he was lovely. He has a son the same age as the Fat Toddler

rosmerta · 16/01/2009 08:46

Morning,

Ds1 seems better today though I'm keeping him off nursery. Would rather he was fine for the weekend, though I will miss my morning!

sfxmum · 16/01/2009 09:10

good morning all

Ros hope DS feels better soon, sorry about missed solo morning, know how it feels
btw have emailed you

planning quiet day here too

SushiMummy · 16/01/2009 10:37

Hello from Japan! We are having a fab time. DS loves everything about Japan and he keeps asking 'is Japan open/shut now?', he thinks it's a kind of amusement park, lol.

Hope everyone is well.

mellow2 · 16/01/2009 11:34

Hello Sushi,

Glad that you are all having a fab time and that you remember us at MN. Is it really cold atm?
LOL at Japan being a big amusement park.

SJ99 · 16/01/2009 14:42

Hello Sushi, glad you're having a good trip, LOL at miniSushi, he must be loving his big adventure

Ros - hope DS1 gets better soon

Have been shopping today while DS at preschool, decided to go out instead of doing chores! Am contemplating moving DS2 into cot tonight. Have been thinking about it since Xmas but keep chickening out of it

He's sleeping quite well atm so I'm worried if I move him to cot he might start waking loads more...OTOH he might start sleeping even better

sfxmum · 16/01/2009 16:23

hi sushi very amused by ds's idea of Japan

another grey drab day, I preferred the freezing bright ones all quiet here and nothing to report

SJ where is ds2 sleeping now? dd was either in bed with me or in her big cotbed/ bedside cot from the start

SJ99 · 16/01/2009 16:52

DS2 started off in cot but we've been co-sleeping in my bed most of the time which is great but we're starting to wake each other up hence I thought maybe he could try in the cot. He does take naps in his cot.
Anyway DH just texted that he'll be back late from Bristol tonight so might just stick with what works!

Yes drab is agood word to describe weather today

pcworld · 16/01/2009 17:04

SJ, ds2 has been in the cot since he was 5 weeks old and it has worked really well. He went into his own room at 5 months as we were waking each other up and that worked even better! Although I didn't like that at the time.

SJ99 · 16/01/2009 17:15

PCWm - that's reassurinng to hear as DS1 definitely slept better once he was in cot and in his own rm but that wasn't til 7mths, don't think I will wait that long this time!

pcworld · 16/01/2009 17:41

Have just realised that I referred to "ds2". Well obviously I only have 1 ds! Honestly am having one of those weeks, think it is tiredness. Had another incident today (not quite as embarrassing as the car one on Tuesday) - pulled up outside the house post lunchtime nursery run when another mum - who does not live near me - drew up beside me. Conversation: (me) - oh - hello! (other mum) - phew! I have followed you all the way home as you left your buggy sitting on the pavement outside the school ... cue major moment. Perhaps a holiday will help, lol!

sfxmum · 16/01/2009 17:50

LOL pc at least you brought the child home

am not sure how dd's sleep was affect by sleeping with us until recently but mine has suffered since she moved I am that paranoid and a very light sleeper, when she was near and made a noise I checked while still barely conscious but these days have to get up and check

mygreatauntgriselda · 16/01/2009 17:57

LOL PC!!! [gri]

Hi Sushi [waves] - glad you are having a fabby time

Am going out for a curry tonight with my book club - yum

pcworld · 16/01/2009 20:06

Well, SFX, it never goes away, does it. Yes, ds is doing well in his own room - but he does have wakeful periods during the night when he likes to practice various sounds, rolling etc - and oh yes, I'm awake during these times too.

I have just said to dh that next week will be a "laptop free week". He said that he will sponsor me. Do you think I will be able to do it .....

sfxmum · 16/01/2009 20:39

of course you can good luck

I on the other hand cannot, it is good to know my limitations and accept them

dd has the sniffles oh nursery nursery

rosmerta · 17/01/2009 06:40

Morning!

Lol pc! I can sympathise with the tiredness! I was getting ds1 some grapes, gave him his bowl & he said 'Mummy, what's this?, I looked & I'd given him the stalks instead of the grapes

Sj, you'll have to let me know how it goes with the cot. We're thinking of doing the same, ds2 doesn't really settle very well in his moses basket so it can't be any worse!

sfxmum · 17/01/2009 08:54

Ros roughage is what it is

we are in sneezerama here but that is all it is I think, must find the will to go running at some point this morning

good morning
