sfxmum · 09/01/2009 10:45

good morning all

as I have been a lazy girl I can't come out to play, that will teach me

mellow hi dd will be on tue, wed, thu. not sure what is gong on with her but she has been showing signs of separation anxiety even at home especially during the night can't think of a cause
another mum at nursery just said 'she is a 3yrs old what more can you say'

hope everyone is well

SushiMummy · 09/01/2009 11:08

Morning all.

Hope everyone is well.

We are off to Japan/Nippon this weekend for two weeks. It's not the best time to go as GBP lost 50% of value against yen but, Japan - here we come! Yippeeee!

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 09/01/2009 12:02

Sushi have a lovely time

I've just booked 4 days in Andraxt for DD and I. She said "oooh 4 days without any boys - yipee!!"

SFX - try not to worry too much - probably 50% feeling unsettled after Christmas break and variation to routine and 50% trying it on

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 09/01/2009 12:03

SFX sorry that sounded a bit flippant

sfxmum · 09/01/2009 12:47

sushi have a fab time does that mean cheaper gadgets?

auntie not flippant more like perspective

SJ thanks for baby cuddles so yummy dd was very happy with the captive audience too 'Latitude rockers'
apparently the band is mini pads on keyboard, mini SJ the first on another keyboard, gherkin on drums, mini sushi backing vocals
and bless her, she is of course on lead guitar and vocals

MrsRecycle · 09/01/2009 12:47

auntie - glad you have found my df on FB.

sfx - separation anxiety never goes away, dd2 still has it. I do think they know how to pull on your heart strings to create a reaction. It's funny, I picked ds up from CM last night and he cried as soon as I walked through the door - been good as gold all day. Just knew he could get a hug by crying.

MrsRecycle · 09/01/2009 12:50

beat me by 9 seconds sfx!

sfxmum · 09/01/2009 12:53

yes it is good to hear from more experienced parents and other's experiences generally thanks

MrsRecycle · 09/01/2009 13:06

glad you said "experienced" and not old!

mellow2 · 09/01/2009 13:40

Sfx - Sorry you're not coming. But there will be a next time.

Dd will be going on Tue, Wed and Fri so the only common free day wil be Monday for play dates.

mellow2 · 09/01/2009 13:45

Sushi,
Have a lovely time in Japan. I'm really . I still remember the amazing Japanese food in Tokyo.

rosmerta · 09/01/2009 14:14

Sushi, have a lovely time

We're off up to Yorkshire tonight for the weekend, not quite the same

Right, am off to the toy library while ds1 is willing to leave the house. See you later

sfxmum · 09/01/2009 15:51

mrsR don't think age makes a difference but having 3 children definitely does

mellow Mondays it is then, don't think it has sunk in yet for dd

another thing about dd is that she seems to be going through a growth spurt, she is certainly eating much more than usual, not that I am complaining

SJ99 · 09/01/2009 16:20

Sfx - thanks for having us over, nice to see you and your little rock star. Seriously, you need to get her on the bill for Latitude

Mellow - hello, how are you?

Sushi - enjoy your trip

Ros - enjoy yours too!

MrsR - Dubai???!

mellow2 · 09/01/2009 16:34

SJ - We're fine. I'm slowly getting over holiday blues. We must meet up soon.

sfxmum · 09/01/2009 16:55

oh yes no holiday blues as such but the birthday ones seem to be looming, must seek distraction
but not mid life crisis kind of distraction maybe that would be bad wouldn't it?

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 10/01/2009 10:00

Hi lovely to see Quokka last night - and everyone else!!!

slng · 10/01/2009 14:01

Hi!

Lovely to see everyone last night.

Athene - good to meet you. I've made a start on the sushi front - made two rolls (with tinned tuna) today and they were eaten up with no complaints! (It probably helped that lunch was a bit late and the kids were starving.) It's not exactly a piece of cake but not exactly rocket science either.

OP posts:
AtheneNoctua · 10/01/2009 22:40

Oh I'm jealous. I must get off my arse now that I have more time (new job is just normal full time and not crazy over time)amd make some sushi.

Did you mix anything with the tuna?

SJ99 · 11/01/2009 19:06

Athena/Slng - I have good veggie sushi recipe if you're interested. You've inspired me to make some, I haven't made it for while

Sfx - I told DS1 that minisfx was recruiting him for her band, he said he'd like to join and that it would be like going on Boogie Beebies

Had a nice walk by the river today towards Hampton.

Hope everyone had a good weekend

mygreatauntgriselda · 11/01/2009 21:15

@'Tis quiet on here...

AtheneNoctua · 11/01/2009 21:45

Oh, yes please for the sushi recipe.

mellow2 · 12/01/2009 08:39

Morning everyone,

I frequently get inspired to do things that I've been putting off because someone else on the thread is doing it. It's great.

mellow2 · 12/01/2009 08:40

SJ - Ds1 is funny [smile}

rosmerta · 12/01/2009 09:09

Hi all, we had a nice weekend at my parents. Nice to get a bit of a rest & the ds's met their cousins for the first time!

I'm back at my course today so dh is looking after ds1, they're off to Lollipop I think.

Hope everyone is ok & had good weekends!
