SJ99 · 11/09/2008 19:09

Just searched looks good

Paddlechick666 · 11/09/2008 19:31

sj, they all sound YUM! am quite at the range tho as I've never seen that many options in any of the stores I've been too.

Am almost sorry I'm away this weekend so can't indulge.

Ros, hope you have a good journey. dd works well with drip-feeding, literally LOL. H also went into HMV this arvo and got her a new Franklin dvd which is her latest fave so the portable dvd player will come into use.

CoV hope all goes well with you too.

am running around chucking things in a bag. dunno why, we never change clothes much on these things and it'll be filthy and wet!

got dd to try on one of her old 36m grobags and it fits so she'll be snugged up in that at night. might give me a fighting chance at the duvet LOL.

sillybigsausage · 11/09/2008 21:44

Paddle did you notice that in Camber I wore the same jeans each day for a week
Have a brilliant time and hope the weather holds out

sillybigsausage · 11/09/2008 21:47

SJ will deffo take a trip to M&S on Saturday thanks for the delicious link

rosmerta · 11/09/2008 21:53

sj, how fickle is minisj, has he already forgotten about ds? Ds is often asking for him!

Sbs, lol @ being picky!

Am all packed up now, train journey should only be around 2hrs so shouldn't be that bad! Am also going to try & manage without the pushchair so could be doubly interesting!

mellow2 · 12/09/2008 07:29

Ros - Have a good trip

SJ - Dd often asks for you and minisj. I'm impressed she remembers all the names of the mummies as well as the LOs.

Paddlechick666 · 12/09/2008 07:30

morning, so dd wakes up at 6:30am on a day when we can lie in

not that i would have as I have been awake half the night in pure agony.

have done something to my shoulder. started earlier this week somewhere around my ribs and i thought chest infection but it's gradually moved and is now in my collarbone area. i can't breathe in properly, i keep wanting to stretch it out but it won't go away. i can't locate the exact spot but it's throbbing from top of my arm to my ear and down towards my ribs.

and if i rotate my arm/shoulder it is so clunky you can actually hear it grinding!

can't imagine i will get much sleep in the van like this as i couldn't get comfortable in bed.

much nurofen and will ring dr for appt next week.

sorry, miserable start to the day for me.

MrsRecycle · 12/09/2008 07:31

f**k - Christmas plans gone Awol. XL have just gone into administration and, suffice to say, we'd booked our flights with them. What a lovely wake-up call this morning.

So have just rushed onto the internet and managed to book alternative flights with Thomson so Christmas back on, thank goodness. DDs would have been heartbroken. A bit more expensive though (that's why we booked in March!). Hopefully I'll get some of my deposit back from xl - luckily I wasn't due to pay the full amount until a few weeks time.

Paddlechick666 · 12/09/2008 07:49

nightmare MrsR. glad you got more flights and hadn't paid the full price for the others tho!

MrsRecycle · 12/09/2008 08:28

thanks paddle - dh said it was good I got up early as come 9am I suspect Thomson and all other airlines with be upping their prices. Meant to say I'll keep my fingers crossed on the promotion - you do really deserve it - we can go out and celebrate when it comes through. Also, have a lovely time at vanfest - oh just seen your cross post about your shoulder, it does sound as though you might need to get it checked out urgently. I won't say what I think it is but I really think you need to get it seen to before you go away.

SBS - am only home alone (with ds) for the day. Can't say I noticed the jeans

Paddlechick666 · 12/09/2008 08:44

MrsR, what d'you think it is? text me if you like. Would it be relevent if I said it was my right side not left?

don't really have time to go to dr this morning. still can't breathe in properly but am about as mobile as i was yesterday. the real problem is lying down.

Saw boss yesterday and he said he was hoping for news on the promo next week.

your H is probably right, i expect all the operators will cash in on this. are XL abta?
ps: any decapitation ishooos overnight?

sfxmum · 12/09/2008 08:54

good morning all

paddle I hope you feel better and enjoy vafest.
good luck with promotion

mrsR - wow speedy work, glad you got it sorted. I expect a lot of firms with tighter margins can't quite cope with the hike in oil prices

Ros hope the trip goes well

funny how LO's know everyone's names as well as all the characters they are into

might make it to Kew later if the weather holds but still waking up now

Paddlechick666 · 12/09/2008 08:57

hmmm, well the vanfest website is down and i couldn't get on yesterday either! hope it's all still on

mellow2 · 12/09/2008 09:32

MrsR,
Lucky escape. I saw the news about XL on the telly. I think they said that people who booked with Thomson will get their money back but not people who booked direct.

Paddle - Hope you feel better soon.

I managed to get dd a place in a pre-school we both like. It's a bit of a drive but that's okay.

I'm glad she's starting next week as she's driving me up the wall with her constant need for attention.

SushiMummy · 12/09/2008 09:43

Morning all.

MrsR - hope you get the deposit back from the adminstrator.

Paddle - good luck with the promotion.

sfx - did DD tell you that my DS had an accident (which is a daily occurrence these days, a bit of regression) on E yesterday?

Kewcumber · 12/09/2008 09:50

Hi y'all we're off to kidzone at around 10.30 if anyone wants to join us Still no mobile but BT have promised SIM will be at work by MOnday. SFX if you can oruse yourself and give me a ring before then I'll give you a lift.

Sorry about flights, thankfully you have something sorted - that must be a relief!

sfxmum · 12/09/2008 09:56

sushi dd is perfecting the art of the school girl me:so what did you do at pre school today?
dd: oh nothing

KC what a great idea thanks will get a move on, actually feel like going back to bed but don't think dd will like that

SJ99 · 12/09/2008 10:07

MrsR - glad you got alternative flights sorted so quickly. I think they said if you paid on credit card then you would have better chance of claiming back money. Or you could check your travel insurance to see if you're covered.

Paddle - pain sounds bad, hope you can get seen to soon. Deep heat/warm flannel and alternate ice packs might relieve some pain. Hope it doesn't interfere with your wkend too much

Ros - don't worry, DS still asks for miniRos too as well as his other pals Good luck with train journey

Mellow - that was fast work, glad DD got a place, hope she likes it, which days is she going?

Just dropped off DS so have a few hrs to do all my admin/phone calls/tesco shopping etc. Sometimes it feels like when you're in an exam and you know you have a few hrs til the end, sounds like plenty of time but I seem to be doing stuff right til I have to leave!

ComeOVeneer · 12/09/2008 10:13

Morning all.

Paddle sorry to here you are suffering, hope you still manage to enjoy your weekend.

MrsR bad news re your trip, glad you managed to get alternative flights (if you paid deposit by credit card aren't you covered?) My aunt and uncle are currently stranded in Barcelona because of this, They are protected so will get alternaive flights sorted, but say it has been a bit of a nightmare 24hours.

Ros hope train journey goes well.

Sausage, I can cook but do enjoy a bargain!

Right off to make 150 sugar paste African masks, sheilds and spears, geckos, and assorted animal skin prints (not forgetting the porcupine quills)!!!!!

MrsRecycle · 12/09/2008 10:16

Just found the deposit details - paid £480 by Credit Card so hopefully I'll be able to get that back. Now if I could only find the booking form they sent me by post...

slng · 12/09/2008 11:21

Morning all!

MrsR - good luck with money back.

Paddle - get well soon!

Mellow - I'm sure dd will enjoy preschool.

SJ - know what you mean about time. I'm one week into new schedule of school and still don't know how much/little time I have.

sfx - interrogating little children is an art. It's a careful balance of impartial questions and leading questions and a careful decision on whether to believe answers!

cov - good luck with baking!

Phew. Did I miss anyone?

Just been to Halfords to try on bikes. Want a bike where you can sit upright so you look like you are pottering rather than desperate to go somewhere...

stepfordwife · 12/09/2008 13:05

hello everyone
lol @ sing, know exactly what you mean about bicycle..no-one seems to pootle around anymore, do they? it's all head-to-toe leather and let's do a 45-mile round trip by lunchtime

paddle, you poor thing, that sounds painful. any chance of getting an apptment before you set off (unless you've already set off...)

mrsR..what a drag, but good on you for being so quick off the mark. where are you going?

sausage,.was grand to see you the other day, too, and even grander to see the green & black choc biscuits

ros..good luck with train trip. sure you'll be fine.

well, my plans for a fun day scuppered by ds1 throwing up spectacularly all over kitchen and hall floors this morning, just to tip me over the edge in the school run madness.

of course he seems absolutely fine now and is tucking into lunch but had to keep him off school.
dd is driving me nuts and can't even set her free in garden because it's a building site. ho-hum...

stepfordwife · 12/09/2008 13:14

oh, and can't beat your m.i.l.t.f, sausage..
but we went to see the mikado at richmond theatre the other evening and were the youngest there by about 20 years
that alone made the ticket price worth it...

we were (hopefully sutbly) giggling as lots of the old dears nodded off (mind you, like you sing, i tend to do that myself in cinemas/theatres).

funniest bit of the evening, tho, (to my warped mind anyway) was after the performance as i waited behind an 80-plus lady to creak out of her chair, she turned to me, gave me a huge grin and bellowed a propos nothing;"I had a wonderful italian earlier..."

out of respect for my elders, i bit my tongue hard so i didn't reply:"Man or food?"

still surprising myself i like opera..

slng · 12/09/2008 13:57

Hello Steppie!

Not been to opera, but must try one one day. Tried ballet but think that all this tip-toeing can't be very good for you. The only thing I'm interested in these days, going-out-wise, is eating and not having to do the clearing up and picking up all the debris etc afterwards! I used to be ambitious ...

I like the Bobbin bikes. They look so old-fashioned and leisurely. But I think I'm a bit too short for even the smallest one ...

15 more minutes to school pickup. What to do now?

sfxmum · 12/09/2008 14:01

hi all

grateful to KC for yanking me out of the house this morning, dd did not really need the toilet after all

slng one day will learn to ride a bike, and I want one of those

steppie hope the building work is going well

mellow sure dd will quite like the pre school speedy job
