Hello

OP posts:
SJ99 · 12/09/2008 14:51

Slng - Bobbin bike looks good & v. leisurely

Steppie - LOL at opera story

DS absolutely excited and happy when I picked him up. He said he made friend called 'Gordoney' and they played cars. I also met another mum from our street whose twins go there and the mum across the road ahd kindly given me a lift as her daughter goes there too. Can't wait til they're all a bit older so can play in the street together

sfxmum · 12/09/2008 15:33

should read posts properly love Gilbert&Sullivan aren't their songs used in diction lessons? and funny too glad you had a nice time steppie

and it is sunny too shame I have no energy

SJ it all sounds very neighbourly there

slng · 12/09/2008 15:53

Got kids back from school and nursery. Takes me 15 minutes to walk there and 50 minutes for us to walk back. The outrageous thing is that even when we drive it takes us 40 minutes. I have the slowest-moving children in the world.
Anyway.

Kids fed and watered for the time being, two loaves of bread in the oven, and a cup of coffee waiting to be drunk. Could be worse.

SJ - also met a few mums today living quite close by with kids of the same year. That's the advantage of walking rather than driving ... Hopefully the kids will become friends.

Hi everyone I know I pop in and out but such is my life right now hello anyway.

A friend has given me a big big bag of new baby clothes for boys. We're having a girl, and have offer of more clothes in the 'right' shade, so would anyone like these clothes? They are really nice (I have posh mates - all gap and designer stuff, dahling, none of your cherokee stuff here!).

Also, feel it's cruel to start our child in posh clothes when she'll be raised in hand me downs (from Cherokee!)

Am happy to drop them off anywhere.

I would love to meet up with y'all again. Is there a night out due? I ahve 8 weeks until D Day so am trying to cram in a life below the proverbial hits.

sillybigsausage · 12/09/2008 16:49

steppie how did you bite your lip about the Italian? We off to Tenerife.

Right found the booking form so can claim a refund, I hope.

Will this do xoxo?

sillybigsausage · 12/09/2008 17:50

Good luck Mrs R!!

Steppy re Italian

sillybigsausage · 12/09/2008 17:55

Just called my bank to make a bill payment

Call Centre with a very polite and helpful operative who sounded as though she is in some far flung place

She said: "have you got your bank card with you"

Me: "yes"

She: "Please read me the 3 digit security number printed on your backside"

mellow2 · 12/09/2008 18:02

Oxo - if you ever need girl clothes when the baby is older, you're welcome to dd's things too. But they don't stay long, only until the next season, as we don't have storage space.

Steppie - at opera story. Thanks for the tip about Richmond Theatre. Did you enjoy Mikado? I think it's great fun.

SJ - The water filter is called Aquasana AQ 4000. I bought it for £75 from the Energise Your Life website. They matched the price of this website. I think the 2nd website must use a drop shipping arrangement as they have Australian contact details.

We went to buy my nephew a birthday present and dd was very insistent that we got mini sj a present too.

mellow2 · 12/09/2008 18:04

Sausage - LOL at your call centre story.

still have to tell sis about the extra visitors tomorrow, don't think she will be pleased as she pretty much hates them, begging might help
at least it will be over and done with, can you tell I am fretting?

SBS backside boom boom

Paddlechick666 · 12/09/2008 21:16

Kewcumber · 12/09/2008 22:37

so sfx - we're not being all judgy judgemental about our earlier little tripette to kidzone then?

Off to brighton tomorrow for lunch with neice and rest of bro's family before she heads off to uni for the first time. Loads of time in teh car with DS sandwiching trying to persuade him to sit still for lunch at a restaurant - it wasnt my idea... you can probably tell.

susiecutiebananas · 12/09/2008 22:37

hello all

paddle !!

SFX, it will be ok, on the day! Don't fret too much, it will be over and done with before you know it.

SBS, LOL at your call center! Did you tell her the mistake she'd made?

SJ, glad playgroup was ok yesterday, and that you are mixing with the locals! let me know if you go again and we'll try to get there next time!

Steppie, love the Italian! made me smile, which is much much needed! How is the building work going? how much longer will it take do they think?

MrsR, ALL fingers crossed for the refund! My dad was stung by another airline going bust last week. Can't remember who now, ( Zoom maybe? ) but he was flying to Florida apparently. paid with debit card so won't get a refund.

Slng, I've been thinking about making bread again, but can't find my recipe. DO you have a good one, which is not too technical??!!

So, I still seem to be riding the emotional roller coaster which is my life at the moment. DH pone has been off since sunday. only communication from him has been a couple of not so nice emails. No idea what's going on. I feel very very sad, angry, fed up and well, you can imagine all the other emotions. My mum is away for another 10 days so I feel quite lonely and have no escape from it all at the moment. Could really do with an afternoon or day without DD, as much as I love her, just need a break. Without having DH here at weekends, the weeks just merge into each other and are soooo long. Usually, mum has her for a day/afternoon once a week but with her away, not even got that.

Anyway, so sorry to moan away to you guys. ~You have all been so kind with your messages on here, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it, and how much it does help. so a big thank you to you all!

lastly, I need to apologise, ( also in advance) to anyone i've arranged to meet and then changed plans. Tbh, I just feel so shitty and down, I intend to do things then can't always face it. Sorry for being so flakey, I'm really not usually. I did end up havig an unexpected day at my friend from round the corner. We ended up going to hers for lunch, as she thought I should get out, then we went to playground LO's had so much fun. Then se gave us tea too! So I was relieved not to have to worry about the basic functioning needed!

gone on too much, again.

sfxmum · 12/09/2008 22:46

KC whatever do you mean dear
dd was keen to tell dh that her and gherkin were firm friends and the best bit was chasing each other around the big shop and give hugs

susie don't apologise I know well what it is to just not being able to face stepping out, but it does help when you do. I can also understand how difficult and relentless it all is, looking after a small child is extremely draining at the best of times
and as for DH getting angry is a good response just don't turn it on yourself

as for my little difficulty my sister hit the roof and is refusing to visit on same day or bring my aunt over, sister really angry.
dh might try and keep the peace and not go to his conference
seems I buggered this one oh well it will be over soon

susiecutiebananas · 12/09/2008 23:01

SFX, I know it does help, and actually, always does help. I just feel bad when I don't manage to keep with plans. Although today was a very unplanned lunch/playground/tea!

I was going to say we're coming over tomorrow to kew retail but of course you are very tied up with visitors, so it's ok, we won't gate crash! ( unless you want us too!! )

Shit, I can't believe another friday night, on my own, feeling miserable! oh well, I'm off to try and express some milk / get my expressing supply going again. Izzy has had this chest now for nearly 3 weeks. She's still horrible at night, but not so bad in the day. Thought i'd try to use my milk as much as poss for a while see if it makes a difference. not having muc luck though on the expressing! used to be super duper milker will stick at it for a few days see if it works...

Kewcumber · 12/09/2008 23:40

SFX, PADDLE,STEPPIE do you object to a photo of your DD's in a montage of DS's journey over the last two years? I am planning to show it on MN but only for a very limited time after that it will be family/friends only.

SFX - its the one of them on the stone animal thing on her birthday
Paddle - one of the two of them having tea that you took head shot only and one of them on the dance floor at Camber (though tbh you can't really see your DD properly apart from her lovely hair!)
Steppie - photo of DS pinching crisps from DD and your DH on our farm visit last year.

You can email me with an honest answer!

sfxmum · 13/09/2008 00:49

that is ok by me KC isn't she wearing a mask on that one?

susie probably too stressed but will keep you posted
should really be in bed now

mellow2 · 13/09/2008 07:45

Susie - I've been there before. There's nothing to apologise about.

Sfx - As you say, it'll be over soon. Good luck.

Well we're off to the GPs today.

slng · 13/09/2008 08:20

Morning!

sfx - good luck!

susie- easy bread

Not sure what we'll do today. Off to make list.

mellow2 · 13/09/2008 09:02

Can anyone recommend a babysitter? I think it's high time dh and I had an evening out.
