Hello

OP posts:
slng · 03/09/2008 09:50

Steppie - We didn't have that. I have a feeling that our school is quite autocratic and don't really care about us. But that might be just me being prejudiced about schools in general ... My children never perform. They go all awkward and shy and sometimes rude with strangers, so it's just as well we didn't have a home visit or we might find ourselves without a school, what with children like that and a mother like me!

slng · 03/09/2008 09:52

Oh, I thought they use private detectives and CCTV cameras to prove where you live? Wasn't that in the news recently?

How do you fake where you live? If you paid council tax then you can go to school at whichever address you give, no?

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 11:05

home visits what fresh new hell is this?

hi steppie glad you had a nice time. boob popped out? you hanging around SBS a lot aren't you? taking her lead from the free floating boob at the pool

dropped dd at nursery and she said don't go but immediately turned around to whoever ant started talking about Upsy Daisy, she is wearing an UD tshirt today

now to try and study until 1pm while curbing the urge to go check on her

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 11:21

slng, I thought that's what the parents did!

sfx, good luck with the studying!

The tv is indeed our friend today , have made it round the shops & got a craft thing to do this afternoon but ds definitely in tantrum territory

slng · 03/09/2008 11:27

I'm supposed to be working but instead am clearing out old toys ... We have now an enormous bag to take away. And a set of the world's slipperiest sheets. (I'm surprised "slipperiest" doesn't come up as misspelled. Is there such a word!!??) What should I do with old nappy wraps and swim nappies? DS2 got out of nappies quicker than we expected ...

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 11:43

slng considering slipperily slippiness exist I don't see why that one shouldn't makes perfect sense, although my spell check does not like it

ros started already and doing really well as you can see, plan on baking a truckload of cookies this afternoon if anyone fancies visiting in the next couple of days

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 11:45

dh is stuck in an office for most of this week with people who constantly listen to Magic FM I think it is, he seems to be loosing the will to live

slng · 03/09/2008 11:47

Right. Off to the charity shop.

Does anyone know where one could get one of those shelf/tray thing to put across the bath tub?

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 11:48

sfx, poor dh, I think I'd lose the will to live if I had to listen to Magic FM constantly!

I'm planning on making a victoria sponge cake & some fairy cakes this afternoon for dh's birthday, which was a week & a half ago!

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 11:50

slng, probably Robert Dyas or Cargo in Ealing? Or you could order one from here

slng · 03/09/2008 11:52

Thanks Ros! I'm going to browse in AB Superstore and the others first before going online!

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 11:55

I think dh would like one of those he likes reading in the bath I on the other hand seldom have the patience to soak

ros dh will appreciate the sympathy he says one more Whitney and he will scream

slng · 03/09/2008 11:55

I don't actually want to read a book or drink champagne in the bath. It's the kids - they like pouring water and it cramps their style if I keep saying don't pour here and don't pour there so I thought what they need is something in the middle of the bath. Is that worth £19.99?

Kewcumber · 03/09/2008 11:56

sfx - its called Tragic FM in our office!

Work is mad (just thought I'd share)

I think we are free on Friday? Plan to take DS to Sheen sports centre as they have a Friday morning class for toddlers - not sure exactly what it is and if it starts back this week or next. Anyone been there?

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 11:57

Oh yes, forgot about the AB Superstore

sfx, its also got wine glass holders which was its main attraction for me , but doesn't get much use atm.

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 11:58

probably not worth spending that then slng!

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 12:05

Kc do tell about the class when you go dd has been asking about Tumble Tots but mean mummy just can't face it

you are welcome here later then for cookies or something and anyone else too

ros so your dh is having fairy cakes for his late birthday
I seem to be unde contract to bake a chocolate cake every year on dh's birthday, his only request, he is easily pleased

actually might bake a sponge for the weekend think will have visitos

rosmerta · 03/09/2008 12:11

the fairy cakes are for him to take to work & its something ds can help decorate! The victoria sponge is his request.

Ikwym about tumbletots, I really went off it. Ds liked it but not enough to keep paying for it

Kewcumber · 03/09/2008 12:14

just rang Sheen - the toddler club is just a bouncy castle and soft play area for £3.50 11.30-12.30 - tbh think I'd prefer kidzone with decent coffee and can stay all morning!

SFX if Kidzone is open and you can drag yourself out by 10ish, you're welcome to a lift if you want to come.

I'm looking for other classes on a Friday if anyone knows any (preferably cheapish or pay as you go)

Kewcumber · 03/09/2008 12:15

DS loves tumbletots but thankfully my mum takse him (she loves it too and even makes him wear the Tshirt! ) so I am spared that.

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 12:16

don't get me wrong I love fairy cakes so easy to eat so many so quickly while still looking dainty

the things with Tumble tots is that it is so regimented and so frighteningly cheerful

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 12:17

yep Kidzone sounds great you have got a date thanks

Kewcumber · 03/09/2008 12:20

Is Kidzone open Friday does anyone know/want to join us for a complete lack of regimentation and cheerfulness!

sfxmum · 03/09/2008 12:30

actually KC I just rang them and they are closed until next Monday so next time then

nearly time to pick up dd, have done the target studying so that is ok
might even go jog tomorrow

Kewcumber · 03/09/2008 12:41

bugger quite fancied Kidzone. Will have to do something else.
