SBS forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY yesterday - hope you had a good night of celebrations!

dd looked out the window this morning and said "oh s**t it's raining".

rosmerta · 31/08/2008 10:38

bunyan, lol @ dd, who did she pick that up from?!

sillybigsausage · 31/08/2008 11:05

Bunyan - !!!!

Thank for Birthday wishes...I went out Carluccio's with a few friends and took DD - I was really excited about us Grrls going out together for the evening as we don't get much time together apart from the boys.

We had a lovely meal at Carluccio's and they had a great kids menu/colouring toys for DD. One friend also was kind nough to buy both me and DD a pressie, so she wouldn't feel jealous!!

At 10.30pm, DD announced "can we go home now please, I am sooo tired?", which meant we both got home at a respectable time too

Didn't ge many pressies but the best one was a white/purple spotty "smalls" bag from Bombay Duck, to store my smalls in!

Hi all, we are back! What the * is going on with the weather here? We were woken by a massive thunder storm at 8am this morning. Total nuisance as we got home after 10 last night and the children were still awake, so we were hopping we would all slept late this morning.

Had a fab holiday, great weather lovely house and pool. Trips to the zoo/beach/fab food/cheese and wine, loads of lazing around by the pool. Despite all that travelling there and back the children were fantastic (no drugging involved ).

Had to foresite to do a Sainsbury's prder before we left that was delivered this morning, and everything already bought and labelled for school to. Have my first paid cake order to to this week - for a christening this Saturday, plus it is dh's granmother's birthday on Sat too so will have yo squeeze in a cake for her!

How was the Camber trip? Was the weather kind to you? Hope everyone is well. Have I missed any important/exciting news/events? Any meet ups planned soon?

Will endeavour to read through the past couple of weeks posts but a quick aynopsis would be good!

sfxmum · 31/08/2008 17:19

hi COV welcome back, holiday sounds divine

I can't believe I actually slept during the day I just thought I will just rest a minute in my quiet bedroom...nearly 2hrs later the sound of hard rain and the front door opening woke me upI expect I needed it

slng · 31/08/2008 18:35

Hi all!

What a strange day weatherwise!

I can smell the roses in the garden. Isn't it lovely? (Doubly lovely since we didn't even plant the roses and didn't do anything for them to deserve them!)

DS2 starts nursery-alone tomorrow. DS1 starts school on Wednesday. We've done labels. Is there anything else to do?

bunyanvillas · 31/08/2008 20:16

Oh Ros, she obviously picked that one up from her dad SBS, sounds like a fun night and lovely to take dd too. Cov, your hol sounds great and now you're back hitting the ground running! Knackered here, too tired to even think what we might do this week. Perhaps library tomorrow if weather continues like this plus possibly some baking.

bunyan

sbs, glad you had a good night!

Cov, sounds like a lovely holiday!

Ds doesn't seem to be very well. He woke up a bit croaky this morning & dh said he's been very cuddly & quite tired all day. Guess yesterday took a lot out of him so think we'll have a quiet day around home tomorrow. Doesn't help that dh is off on a course for the next three days!

sillybigsausage · 31/08/2008 20:44

Ros - hugs to you cute DS. How many months are you now then??

Slng - all our flowers are like that (we didn't plant them or do anything to deserve them LOL) - roses smell lovely don't they?

CoV - glad you had a well earned rest in France - sounds fantastic

I fell asleep this arvo -rekon it must've been the shock of me having actually cleaned the car myself today - hopefully I have now got rid of the "Aroma De Vomit" which has been inhabiting the back seat since our hols

ComeOVeneer · 31/08/2008 21:21

So how was Camber?

Did I mention some s*d took our wing mirror off the morning before we left for France so we have spent the last 2 weeks driving around with it stuck on with gaffer (sp) tape. Was concerned we may be stopped by the gendarmerie until I saw the state of many french cars.

sillybigsausage · 31/08/2008 21:25

Camber was great fun- loads for the DCs to do - the weather was a bit windy but mostly dry

ComeOVeneer · 31/08/2008 21:28

Seen a few photos on facebook. Paddle's dd looks totally gorgeous (those ringlets are fab), and kew's ds (can't remeber what sushi calls him) looks so grown up. I think I saw MrsR's ds in some photos but he looks way to big.

rosmerta · 01/09/2008 08:08

thanks sbs, he seems ok this morning, just got a cold I think. Quite scarily, I am now 27 weeks

I think we're going to stay close to home today but does anyone want to meet up later in the week? I'm around on Weds & Thurs.

rosmerta · 01/09/2008 08:09

btw, anyone who's signed up check out the cinema thread

Kewcumber · 01/09/2008 09:05

gherkin-kun

I'm a bit strapped for babysitting for a while so no nights out for a month or so.

Glad you had a nice evening Sausage - have a pair of trousers for your DS which I tried to put on DS to discover they're too small (good autumn weight if they fit him)

Thanks for tea and cake Sushi - sorry DS is such a lairy toddler, other peoples quiet well behaved toddelrs always make me realise what a hooligan DS is (mind you no nap didn't help)

Kewcumber · 01/09/2008 09:05

oh an apologies for inviting myself... its my welsh roots coming out

SJ99 · 01/09/2008 09:31

Morning all

Cov - welcome back, glad you had a lovely relaxing holiday

SBS - your birthday meal sounds great, glad you enjoyed your evening

Ros - hope miniros feels better soon

Slng - good luck for school

Sfx - I slept 2hrs too yesterday afternoon, like you I must've needed it!

DH didn't get back til about 5pm, they did it but he was pretty knackered, I think they'd bitten off a bit more than they could chew. Didn't help his mate had a heavy bike and took loads of stuff in his panniers

Going to head to Kingston this morning, need to get a few bits and bobs, will be nice to be able to walk there!

mellow2 · 01/09/2008 10:53

Hello all,

COV - Welcome back.

Ros - Hope ds feels better.

I lost contact details of the airport taxi service we use. Can anyone recommend a taxi service?

SushiMummy · 01/09/2008 11:17

Morning all.

CoV - welcome back! Glad you had a lovely holiday.

QC - lovely to see you and Gherkin-kun yesterday! Couldn't believe how much he's grown since the last time. Hope you had lovely Sunday roast at your mum's.

Mellow - are you off to Italy soon? Thanks for asking about my job. It's much easier now (still v busy, tho) as I have an assistant now. She's great!

mellow2 · 01/09/2008 11:24

Hi sushi.

Yes, we're off tomorrow morning. If I could get a taxi to take us, that is. I finally found the number of my regular car service and they're fully booked.

Kewcumber · 01/09/2008 11:34

Riverside Cars (based in Sheen?) always used to be very reliable and quite nice but I don;t have the number on me.
