OP posts:
mellow2 · 30/08/2008 10:20

Happy birthday sillysausage!

I won't be able to join you tonight as we've got far too much on today. We need to pack for our holiday this weekend.

Hello sushi [waves]. Are you less busy at work now?

sillybigsausage · 30/08/2008 10:59

Thanks Mellow, SFX, SJ

Mellow where are you going on hols?

Kewcumber · 30/08/2008 15:23

happy birthday sausage

Sushi - probably too late for you now but we'll probably take a picnic tea over to Kew around 4.30 ish not sure where we'll be but possibly in font of the orangery - sorry phone isn;t working so not much good to you!

rosmerta · 30/08/2008 15:31

Just got back from Chessington. Ds & I left earlier and caught the train back, ds is now shattered and is curled up in the chair watching a Winnie the Pooh film! I think he had lots of fun though, he went on a couple of the little rides & we walked round the zoo. He was very excited to see lions & gorillas!

Anyway, hope everyone else is having a nice day & enjoying the weather!

sillybigsausage · 30/08/2008 17:17

Thanks QC

Have now heard back from Book Club and we are heading to Carlucccio's at about 8pm.

Give us a buzz if you fancy joining us

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 18:01

managed to get out and walk about Kew with dd even to C&C

SBS saw your big boy jumping about, or at least am fairly certain it was him

hope everyone is having a nice time and enjoying the weather

sillybigsausage · 30/08/2008 18:39

SFX yes it was him, with his friend from school!!! Was C&C crowded as usual?

I spent the day, sitting in the garden watching the washing dry, drinking cold beer, while DS2 and DD splashed in paddling pool

DD and I have just showered and are getting ready for our night out

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 18:57

enjoy your girly night

C&C was full of dads as it is usual at weekends, but not particularly crowded
much nicer outside we laid down on picnic rug chatting an it was lovely

rosmerta · 30/08/2008 18:59

sbs, have a nice night!

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 19:01

ros how long is the journey from Chessington?

which station to which?

rosmerta · 30/08/2008 19:04

Station is Chessington South on Waterloo branch, have to change at Clapham Junction. They say its 10mins from the station to the park but that doesn't factor in a tired toddler! Did only take about just over an hour though in total (about 45mins in the car)

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 19:05

thanks might count as day out at some point although think the highlight is the train ride

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 19:06

am desperate for comfort food and food thatdd does not fuss over so huge bowl of pasta pesto and peas coming up with loads of parmesan on top

SJ99 · 30/08/2008 19:16

SBS - enjoy your night out!

Ros - glad you had a good time, never been to Chessington, I bet DS loved the train ride too

Susie - really nice to meet you and your lovely DD. DS enjoyed playing with her and after said she was a darling - didn't know he knew that word, certainly didn't get it from me Enjoy your trip tomorrow

Have got a dvd and a tub of ice cream for tonight, that's me sorted

slng · 30/08/2008 20:25

Home alone!

Have finished the Artemis Fowl books. What should I do next?

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 20:30

hi slng have huge reading list but will be watching a DVD boxset tonight, well part of it anyway

what are you in the mood for?

slng · 30/08/2008 20:33

sfx - rice porridge. It's the one thing I can only cook when I'm eating on my own as everyone else hates it ... I wish someone will cook it for me.

sfxmum · 30/08/2008 20:37

are we talking food then? can't think about that belly too full, just want dh to offer settling dd so I can put headphones on and watch my DVD's

mellow2 · 31/08/2008 07:42

Hi silysausage,
Hope you had fun last nite. We're going to Southern Italy.

Right we're off to the hair salon this morning.

mellow2 · 31/08/2008 07:46

slng,
dd loves rice porridge because she was weaned on it. But it's too much effort to cook it for her. It takes her over 30 mins to eat a huge bowl (large Chinese soup bowl) of porridge.

rosmerta · 31/08/2008 09:01

Sounds like everyone had a relaxed evening! We put on Shrek 3 as nephew said he'd like to watch it & then spent the film playing on his ds! Who knows, maybe he was multitasking?!

Sj, I wondered if minisj picked darling up from me the other day? Its something I say to ds quite a bit

So nice weather yesterday & a storm today

SJ99 · 31/08/2008 09:10

Ros - Ah, that probably explains it He started going on about knobbly knees in the bath last night, again I don't know where that came from either! Is your nephew staying with you today as well?

Still in pjs here. May go swimming later seeing as it's wet anyway. Can't believe the change in weather. My bro is doing 10km run today, wonder if he'll still do it

rosmerta · 31/08/2008 09:15

No, dh is taking him back today. He's taking ds along as well so I have the day to myself. I really should do some tidying up, washing & studying but no doubt I'll just veg out in front of the telly!

Sj, its funny what they pick up, ds has come out with some stuff & just no idea where he's got it from!

SJ99 · 31/08/2008 09:20

Enjoy your day to yourself Ros
Not sure what time Dh will be back but I'll be handing over the reigns as soon as he walks in

sfxmum · 31/08/2008 09:32

good morning all

woke up with look mum thunder and lightning wow

SBS hope you had a nice time

ros &SJ dd always comes up with new words and expressions when she is around different people most noticeably at Christmas, ten minutes with her cousin and she gets Lancashire accent
or endless repetition of 'indeed' like grampa

dh not happy that he was locked away all they yesterday while the weather was nice and is free today for this wetness

we found some really old Beatrix Pootter books, old like the 40's and have been reading them to dd, they are really lovely
