How exciting to be starting thread

Yay, thanks Sfx, am already looking forward to banana bread, mmmm!

In Sweden they had Noise Police (everything is so formally governed over there) but what a great idea, they used to go and put a stop the noise polluters, no messing.

Sorry to hear training not going so well Cov I'm dreading training DS as he too never complains of a pooey nappy, so something tells me he's not going to be bothered about wet pants. I've heard it can take up to the age of 4yrs before they get it. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but don't be too hard on yourself, he'll get there

Foxie - Hugs to you. Might be worth calling docs if cub showing no signs of improvement. BM & water is the best thing you can give him now, avoid any solids until he can hold that down

Meant to explain, Ds had nasty stomach bugs when he was

Paddlechick666 · 04/02/2008 18:14

aw no foxie, it's relentless isn't it?

well dd has done one poo today, not long after she came home and it was a vast improvement but still not back to normal.

sorry TMI!

she's eaten quite a big tea tho so i guess we;ll see how that goes.

spent all day on conf calls, going to get head cancer before long i think.

sfxmum · 04/02/2008 18:14

oh foxie I am sorry poor you two really, hope it starts to settle soon

sfxmum · 04/02/2008 18:16

glad to hear dd is better paddle - liking the cheerful disposition head cancer?
maybe work shoul give danger money

slng · 04/02/2008 19:41

COV - have you tried bribery? That's what GF suggests for the "stubborn" child who is nearer 3! She says it works. Or perhaps consider going back to nappies just to get away from the stress for a while? That's what my other book says. (You can tell I'm an academic - look up in books if in doubt... sorry if not helpful.)

Foxie hope LO gets better soon.

fitfox · 04/02/2008 19:49

This is the sickest any of the LOs has been. Even when DS1's ear drum burst, or when DS1 and DD had chicken pox, they weren't this sick

DS1 was once this ill, but onky for about 12 hours and Dioralyte perked him up. DS1 just keeps vomitting

DH is taking him to the GP tomorrow but I know they will just say he's picked up a virus anyway

fitfox · 04/02/2008 19:50

"only" not "oinky" its not even bloody funny

MrsRecycle · 04/02/2008 20:31

foxie - MOTILIUM - go and get some now!!! It will do wonders. If you can't get any, I'll send you some.

Paddlechick666 · 04/02/2008 20:34

you can deffo get it over the counter from boots. tell 'em it's for you not bub.

and if you do fancy taking some yourself it'll boost your milk, apparently!

i used to take fenugreek for that tho.

okay i've had my tea, i've already eaten half a pack of biscuits and i still fancy something.

all the weight i have lost will be piling back on at this rate. ate a whole tray of belgian chocs last night. bottom half, ate the top half saturday night

MrsRecycle · 04/02/2008 20:46

mmm sounds lovely pc - sainsburys sent me a voucher for some belgian chocs for my birthday and by the time I found it, it had expired. I could so do with them now.

Yes, foxie say its for you, if you need help with the amount to give ds2, give me a ring on my mobile. I'm an expert at weight and dosage - ds had to have it for the first year of his life and it is specific to weight. In fact I had to tell the paed how to calculate it when they need to up the dose. Honestly, when ds was constantly Ving in Tenerife, I got some and he was a different child the next day - and he was quite ill for most of the hols, beforehand.

fitfox · 05/02/2008 08:50

Thanks Mrs R - will try and get some today. I have no idea how much he weighs as I am allergic to both HVs and scales. I may be able to weight him on someone elses scales though.....(any of you Kewites got scales)?

He has been up half the night again and won't even take BF or water now... DH taking him to GP this morning.

Its been about 53 hours now since it started

He smelss like a newborn again - all milky, sicky and BF pooey - poor little thing

sfxmum · 05/02/2008 09:47

morning all

foxie sorry about ds2 I do have some scales if you need.

dd has a cough and woke up a few times last night she is now sitting on the sofa sipping a breakfast smoothie coughing and asking for tissues.

hope everyone is ok today

Paddlechick666 · 05/02/2008 10:07

morning all

well dd didn't have a great night either, she cried a bit and settled then cried a bit and settled then had a mega cry so i whipped her into bed with me.

think she was cold as she hung onto me like a limpet! was a lovely cuddle but can anyone really explain the equation of 1 x king size bed x 1 toddler x 1 adult female = adult female teeters on one inch of edge of mattress?

also think neighbours were being a bit rowdy too

bit tired today.

foxie, really hope ds feels better today and the GP can help.

sfxmum · 05/02/2008 10:16

oh yes I always find that I don't fall out of bed because her cotbed is right next to my bed. was relieved when dd woke up and decided to go back to her bed.
she has taken up residence on our bed for the past 3 nights, a clear sing all not well

poor mini paddle too

Paddlechick666 · 05/02/2008 10:22

at teh old house the bed was in the corner and i had the bedguard on my side so all worked quite well.

took the bedguard off when dd all but stopped comign in with me.

tbh, if i hadn't been half asleep myself i prob could've settled her back in her own bed. she was a bit disappointed to wake up in my bed coz she likes whispering me to come for her when she wakes up in her room.

we try to be considerate of our neighbours, just wish they reciprocated

MrsRecycle · 05/02/2008 11:50

foxie - hope all went well at the docs. It's awful isn't it - I got ds' old pram out of the loft and had to wash the cover cos it smelt of sick - 3 washes later and it still stinks - I did think of you this morning when I smelt it!! Not that you'd like to be remembered that way eh??

pc - sorry to hear about dd's night and your lack of bed space - mind you lucky you just have you and dd. It's worse with a dh as well (lucky ds isn't into co-sleeping) - I end up curled up in a small corner of a double bed with dd2's feet in my face and dh's snoring in my ears. Sorry to hear about the noisy neighbours again. Could a radio help in dd's room to distract the noise?

rosmerta · 05/02/2008 13:21

foxie, hope ds is ok & the gp was useful.

We're having one last blow out with chocs & biscuits today as its Lent tomorrow!!

sfxmum · 05/02/2008 13:48

guess mellow not back yet, I really want another of those bags this time for me

oh am so bored today dd not keen on activity far from the sofa and a box of tissues

SJ99 · 05/02/2008 14:03

Hello all

Foxie - hope all goes well at GP's and that they can offer some help

Poor mini-Sfx and mini-pads too

It is funny the way the LO's can hog an entire bed. I never get the best sleep if DS sleeps with us but it's cute to be with them.

DS was in real pain this morning, teething. I took him out as i thought change of scenery might help him forget his pain. That did the trick but no nap today so early bed tonight

He got his MMR appmt yesterday it is for this Thurs. We have to stay min 2hrs after jab to check he's ok, I just hope they have some good toys to keep him entertained...

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 05/02/2008 14:57

Oh SJ I remember your last MMR appointment - hope all goes well this time.

Amanda78 · 05/02/2008 17:27

Hi All,

Sorry I haven't managed to post in the last few weeks - I've been so busy with work and well everything else!

I have been meaning to thank everybody for a lovely evening a few weeks back in Kew. It was really nice to meet everybody and hope to meet up again soon!

SJ - Sorry about yesterday! Keep me posted for later this week or Monday of next week if you are free.
TTFN

rosmerta · 05/02/2008 19:33

hi amanda, nice to see we didn't scare you off anyway!

Hope everyone's ok, foxie hope ds is getting better

Had to make my own pancake batter today as the supermarket had sold out of the ready made stuff, and they didn't come out too bad. Ds didn't like them though!

Am now trying to do some studying so guess I'd better go & do some!

SJ99 · 05/02/2008 19:56

Good luck with studying Ros.

Hope all poorly LO's have a better night tonight.

Thanks Mrs R - am reassured that being in hospital is the best place to be in case anything does go wrong worst case scenario.

Hello Amanda Next Mon might be better to meet, will just see how MMR goes and with teething too maybe DS not the best company this week.

Have just made just banana bread, yum inspired by SFX!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 05/02/2008 20:14

hi Amanda was starting to worry we'd put you off

foxie hope all is well

ros dh is on pancake duty as it is his culture I am partaking in the eating for cultural exchange purposes
enjoy the study

SJ hope it goes well, it should anyway and you have the extra reassurance of being in hospital.

well settle dd a bit later today she is still eating as we wanted to have some dinner together she is still coughing loads so I guess we will co sleep again at some point.

hope mini pads ok tonight
