New thread as the other one is not going to last long.

OP posts:
fitfox · 12/01/2008 19:38

SJ - LOL at your DS "chatting" to Deers in Bushy Park. That's so cute!

Ros - how are you feeling now? Let me know when you fancy a swim in Brentford (or could take you to fabby health club for a swim if fancy it)

I was thinking, we could have a Grrls Day Out at fabby health club when I stop BFing if anyone is interested - £15 per head for the whole day, incl gym, pool, sauna, solarium, steam room, jacuzi etc - maybe in the spring/summer on a Sunday?? There is a nice champagne bar too!

Is Torchwood on tonight then???

fitfox · 12/01/2008 19:41

Paddle - x posts - so would I just need to buy a wi fi router for lodger, as we have broadband? ["duh" emoticon]

Sorry, I am such a technophobe

Paddlechick666 · 12/01/2008 19:56

yeah foxie, that's basically the deal. you can get them quite cheap(ish) on ebay.

mine was about £85 a couple of years ago.

very of your holiday! cannot believe all that for £75!

i WANT a holiday! too scared to book something for just me and dd tho! might try to do a caravan or something in teh summer.

have got my latitude tix tho

when is torchwood on?

sfxmum · 12/01/2008 20:20

hi all dd sound asleep and dh even did bedtime today as well as bath - lovely

Torchwood starts wednesday 9pm on BBC2 I think there will be a PG version earlier the following day.

I missed Life on Mars2 as well, am happily spoiler free, well sort of anyway, must catch up sometime, is it on UK Gold?

had a quiet day, baked cookies and made sure dd had a rest, will go jog and have some me time tomorrow while dh goes out with child.

not happy about the weather forecast, yet more rain coming, must plan indoor activities although relying on public transport means I will get wet anyway.

rosmerta · 12/01/2008 22:25

LoM is on Bravo sfx, Tuesday at 9 or 10pm iirc!

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 08:34

morning all, well not a great night in paddle house.

dd awake at 5am and wouldn't settle. took her into my bed and after an hour of messing about put her back in her own bed and we both went back to sleep till 8am! guess the routine will be shot today now.

horrid day too so stuck for ideas of what to do

today's weird dream analysis:

i wake to find H in the house with about 8 little kids and another guy. vaguely recall he told me he was doing some kids charity work (not in RL!). he then proceeds to tell me he wants to pay a grand to have some voodoo done on old landlord meanwhile dd has taken the side off her cot.

okay gurus, figure that one out!

feel very weird today, like a hangover. must be having gone back to sleep at 6:30.

yerch........

Kewcumber · 13/01/2008 09:06

my analysis is..

You are losing your marbles.

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 09:08
Grin
sfxmum · 13/01/2008 10:24

good morning all

paddle - don't know about the dreams but do let us know if you get one of those deliciously sexy dreams won't you?

sorry about your night, dd kept waking me up as well but she was not keen on coming to our bed at all, so much easier before.
now everyday she goes on about her wanting her own room and going to school ( she still thinks her room will be pink )

Ros - thanks

Amanda78 · 13/01/2008 10:44

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.
My little girl (opps, should start using the mumsnet lingo - I'll get there!), my DD is asleep at the moment which is rather strange! She is 15 months now and I thought she had gone past the morning sleep stage but seems to be tired shortly after breakfast. Been a while since she has done this - much to my dismay! Anyway, I'm putting it down to a growth spurt and the fact that she has just started nursery (3 days) so may just be tired. Any other explanations?

Fitfox- I'm sorry to say that I am unable to make night out later this month. It turns out that my DH has arranged (as a surprise) for my friend to come over from Ireland for the weekend and we will be pickng her up from Heathrow that evening! Has anything else been planned that I could stick in the diary now!?

SJ99 - Small world is right! I love Molesey! I'm originally from Muswell HIll in North London but moved over to Twix in 1999. When I gratuated I knew I wanted to stay this side of the river. I have family in Thames Ditton and stayed with them, then once I was married we decided on Molesey. It was close enough for me to keep connected with my Uni friends etc but far enough away to move on also and grow up!!
How about you, where did you move from - are you enjoying living there?

sfxmum · 13/01/2008 10:54

Hi Amanda the next grown up meet up is on friday 25th at 8pm at L'Escale in Richmond.

fitfox · 13/01/2008 11:27

Amanda Hi - No probs - of your DH organising a lovely surprise - thats so nice

There is another meet up on 1 Feb, which some people are going to, which is at a very expensive restaurant in Richmond called Gaucho. Its a bit beyond my means, but a few are going from this thread.

There are also sometimes weekend meet ups during the day, organised on an ad hoc basis.

Also, we are having a Champagne guzzling evening end of Feb/beginning of March at Eleusis house (date to be confirmed)

Look forward to meeting you soon

fitfox · 13/01/2008 11:32

Paddle - thanks for IT advice. So can the wi fi thingy be used for whichever laptop is being used at the time? Or, once attached, does it need to be used for only the one laptop? (trying to work out whether I should purchase it, or tell the lodger that they need to purchase it themselves. If I can keep it for the next person, I don't mind buying it).

sfxmum · 13/01/2008 11:39

oops sorry Amanda did not read it properly, it is what happens when I try to check Mumsnet while telling dd a story

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 11:53

foxie, your wi-fi router can be used by as many machines as you want.

you security enable it with a WEP or WAP key which you then give to your lodger so they can connect to your router

fitfox · 13/01/2008 11:56

Duh?

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 11:58

okay, just buy one okay! it'll make your room more attractive to prospective lodgers and if your next lodger buys one then they own it and will take it with them.

i can come over and set it up for you.

fitfox · 13/01/2008 12:36

Oooh thanks Paddle

The Chinese woman is not communicating now and the one who viewed yesterday (who said she'd get back to me and didn't - hence me offering it to the Chinese woman) is now txting saying she's still interested

FFS!!

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 12:41

time to get tough foxie.

text the woman back and tell her you need to know by 3pm today.

tell the chinese couple the same thing and if they both get back to you wanting it then you can choose.

were you fishin for me to come over and set that thing up!

i can come over Saturday next week if you get one by then.

fitfox · 13/01/2008 12:56

No wasn't fishing, but genuinely dumb when it comes to technology. I am around next Saturday - might try and get one in Tesco.

TBH the chiese woman is the only one who hasn't messed me about. I have e-mailed her and will give her until tomorrow, at which point I will readvertise.

The other woman is really nice but indecisive so I will wqit for Chinese woman, then give the other one a deadline if need be (thanks for advice - I can't see the wood for the trees atm)

Paddlechick666 · 13/01/2008 13:05

I had a speedtouch and was very happy with it. this is a bloody good price:

cgi.ebay.co.uk/B-N-Speedtouch-585-v6-Wireless-ADSL-Broadband-Router_W0QQitemZ280189120658QQihZ018QQc ategoryZ101270QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

should do all you need it to do.

fitfox · 13/01/2008 13:42

Thanks Paddle !!!

Right, off to my drinking book club now

SJ99 · 13/01/2008 16:19

So Foxie, who got the room????!!
Hope you enjoyed your book club meet

Paddle - dreams sound pretty bizarre, you'll have to stop eating cheese before you go to bed, LOL!

Having a housy day today, although did manage to get to gym this morning.

Amanada - I grew up around Manchester but have moved around a fair bit - B'ham, London, back to M/cr and we just came back from Sweden last summer and moved here, phew. We're currently renting and really like this area but housing is soooo expensive. I think wherever we end up next we'll be there for a while once DS starts school, so we have to choose wisely. Would be nice to stay around here...we'll see

rosmerta · 13/01/2008 19:05

evening all, have had a nice day at SIL today, all the cousins played really nicely together (5 of them ranging from nearly 2 to 11!). Ds didn't nap though, think he was worried he was missing out on stuff downstairs!

Did anyone take the room foxie? And I like the sound of your book club! I go to one but its at the library so not much opportunity for drinking!

Anyway, must do some studying tonight, am trying to write my next essay, its a really hard topic (approaches to learning & studying!) & I keep putting it off.

Kewcumber · 13/01/2008 19:50

well after three days on the trot wihtout a nap - he's finally crashed out at a reasonable time 7.45! Hope he doesn't wake up at 5am...
