New thread as the other one is not going to last long.

OP posts:
bunyanvillas · 10/01/2008 21:05

Cripes, can't keep up with this thread! Have had to move out of the new house as the renovations have taken over and it is not a nice or a safe place to be at the moment! Am mostly offline at the mo (major crisis) and am now even more unorganised and chaotic than usual, can't even find my diary, it is "somewhere" in a box PC you are posh, dd so far has only taken bananas or tangerines and I'm definitely not in with the in crowd either! Hi Amanda and welcome, I'm a SAHM with a 3 yr old dd and one on the way!

sfxmum · 10/01/2008 21:14

paddle PMSL where is your fag and sausage roll?

bunnyan hi, cripes are the builders falling behind? hope it feels like home soon or at least before April

foxie yes a bit until dd decided that back stretches were really me playing a horse she could ride

mrsR think your dh deserves a hug at least.

hope everyone has a quiet night my snot monster seems unsettled hope she leaves me alone for a couple of hrs, could really do with 'off' time

sfxmum · 10/01/2008 21:15

so that's where I got that word from

bunyanvillas · 10/01/2008 21:16

No not falling behind at all, in fact we have only been there 3 weeks and already by the end of this week, 2 major projects will be complete. But I still can't envisage it being ready by April yikes! Poor dd doesn't know whether she's coming or going. Foxie, hope you're not in too much pain

Paddlechick666 · 10/01/2008 21:21

ooh can i get away with a humzinger then?

bunyan where are you domiciled now then?

we'll be home tomorrow arvo if anyone fancies dropping over.

fitfox · 10/01/2008 21:22

Bunny - I have to take ABs which will give me breast thrush, which is a whole other excruciating problem

ComeOVeneer · 10/01/2008 21:32

Amanda, please to see you have ventured on here (don't be intimidated by the pace of the thread) I am fairly local to you (thames ditton, but my children are 3 and 6). Do try and join us for any meet ups you can manage,

DH is home but very tired and in a l;ot of pain. His neck looks like he has been attacked by a vampire and if he sneezes it hurts likes like hell.

rosmerta · 10/01/2008 21:33

thanks paddle but looks like we'll be at the drs. Dh just checked on ds and he's apparently v sweaty and warm

rosmerta · 10/01/2008 21:57

Am having a giggle over the dalek & jedi threads in the AIBU section, esp the post about Cidermen ! Plus it lets me know what I'm in for in a couple of years time!

SJ99 · 10/01/2008 22:20

No worries Ros, hope DS feels better soon and it's nothing too serious.

Foxie - Glad you found a 'normal' lodger, did she like the room? Hope tooth infection gets better too.

Bunyan - sounds crazy your end, hang in there

Paddle - ta for invite, I have to wait in for gas inspector who will arrive anytime btw 12-6pm. If they have been and gone before tea time will pop over and bring some of the yum choccy biccies! You could always slip one of those into DD's lunchbox and shock all the other parents

SJ99 · 10/01/2008 22:23

LOL at mini-sfx horse rides! DS often asks me to open my legs so he can go through 'mummy tunnel'. Once he's through my legs he then instructs me to close them, the things we have to put up with

sfxmum · 11/01/2008 09:20

good morning all

thankfully dd slept through, just waking up at 4am to ask for water then back to sleep till 8.30, she seems much better today despite a slight cough.

hope everyone else had a quiet evening/ night.

Ros - that was really funny dd now likes us to tell her stories where she features as a herself or her alter ego 'the fairy princess' who usually goes for a ride on the Ninky Nonk or Thomas with all her friends, which includes a smattering of real people and cartoon characters.
they have some very important and unchangeable plot lines which we must get right - it is all quite demanding -

bunyan - I hope it all gets sorted soon, I am sure it will be worth it.

SJ -LOL at biscuit, never saw the arm in it

Paddle I think we will stay close to home today, I want to make sure dd recovers fully.

foxie - best of luck with lodger

rosmerta · 11/01/2008 10:35

Morning all, ds seems better so have taken him to nursery! Have an appt at drs this afternoon just to get his ears checked though.

Had originally planned to meet a friend at the park but guess that's off with this weather!

hope everyone else is ok

SJ99 · 11/01/2008 12:34

Hello all

Glad your LO's are feeling better today. Thread was v.funny Ros. DS play acts with his firemen and Night Garden figures which is quite funny to watch but as yet don't require any major involvement from me, phew.

Been swimming this morning which was great. Weather is pretty gloomy outside isn't it? Now have to wait for this inspector who knowing my luck will turn up at 5.50pm

Paddlechick666 · 11/01/2008 13:30

well, pre-school went great. we stayed about half the session adn dd had a ball. didn't even notice when i hid up the back for half of it and actually cried when it was time to go.

now the little madam is refusing to nap and I want a blardy rest!

Might go for a walk in Crane Park this arvo. Really should go to Tesco but can't be bovvered!

ros, hope ds is okay.

kew, how was last night?

ComeOVeneer · 11/01/2008 13:35

Pleased dd had a good time. It is such a releif when they take to it like that. I barely get a good bye from ds these days, and he is upset when I come and collect him on the days he doesn't get to stay for lunch.

Well I was officially voted in as PTA chairperson this morning and have been handed a huge file of computer discs and papers. I have to organise a silent auction of a signed (english) rugby top, a film show at the school for the children, a valentines cake sale and the May fair just for starters. How the hell did I get myself into this??!?!?!?!

Paddlechick666 · 11/01/2008 14:03

honestly, 1 hour of various singing, yelling, thumping around and generally not sleeping and suddenly the child conks out!

she's getting 45mins max!

definately going for a walk this arvo!

fitfox · 11/01/2008 17:47

SJ of your swim

I'm a bit as the Canadian Lecturer has taken another room. I've only got two people more to see until I make a decision on the Chinese couple and am starting to think no one like me

SFX glad you had some sleep - I haven't done any real excercise for about 3 weeks - so much for new years resolutions eh?

Tooth has stopped hurting though!!

rosmerta · 11/01/2008 18:47

That's a shame foxie, hopefully someone else will come along.

Ds has an ear infection so am not able to take him swimming for a couple of weeks. I've got a prescription for antibiotics, am usually sceptical (sp?) of abs but will at least give them a try and hopefully it will clear up.

Amanda78 · 11/01/2008 19:40

Hi All,

Thanks so much for the welcomes! Wow, people do stem from all over!

Fitfox - I live in East Molesey. Thanks for the invite out later this month! I don't see it being a problem and I love my vino so I will let you know once I have run it passed the DH. Where are you heading?

SJ99 - I love Twickers. I spent 4 very happy years there as I went to St Mary's Uni! Still my regular drinking spot. The Three Kings esp and the Cabbage Patch for a cheesy dance although not as frequent as I would like!

Slng - I work in Hanwell, just off the Uxbridge Road! I am a regular in Gold Cafe, I'm sure you know it!?

Hope to put some faces to the 'names' asap.

slng · 11/01/2008 21:05

Amanda - we go to Gold's now and then. Ds1 is a cafe-fiend and likes his milk and croissant. We discovered Keats the other day, further along the Uxbridge road, across from Lidl. It's nice and friendly too but obviously not so much experience with smaller visitors since they didn't charge for milk!

fitfox · 11/01/2008 21:16

Amanda we are heading here:

www.escale-richmond.co.uk

Its delicious nosh and reasonably priced, easy to get to etc

ComeOVeneer · 11/01/2008 21:25

Foxie what is parking like near the restaurant?

fitfox · 11/01/2008 21:38

CoV - the restaurant is on the Kew Road. You can park down any of the side roads, on the opposite side of Kew Road to the restaurant, during the evening.

fitfox · 11/01/2008 21:41

You can also park in the little cul-de-sac adjacent to the restaurant, if you can find a space, but it is usually full as it is such a short road, so its easier just to park on one of the roads opposite
