Hi all,

I volunteered to look after this local site but I have been poorly so haven't done much!

I will be adding local details on in the next few days

Have had a bit of a manic week, and am not sure I'm going to be able to meet up this week after all. Dressedup, could you do 9.30ish on Monday 8th?

purpleturtle · 30/09/2007 18:17

Sorry, xxlisxx, I didn't mean to overlook you there. You'd be welcome too, obviously.

AbbyLou · 01/10/2007 19:57

Hi xxlisxx, I live in Long Eaton too. My ds is nealry 3 and my dd is nearly 5 months. Unfortunately I am due to return to work full time in 2 weeks but would be happy to meet up in the holidays.

Collywobbles · 03/10/2007 10:33

Hi

I'm another newbie! I live in Barton Green (Clifton) and am not actually a mum yet, but due to become one on 22nd Oct...

I'm 29 and will be 30 on 27th Oct - just hope LO doesn't decide to come on my birthday, as I DO NOT want to share!!

I thought I'd check out the local site as it seems a good way to meet other mums and get some good tips on baby/child related stuff in Nottingham.

x

Alseymum · 19/10/2007 15:13

HI, we can do Mon, Wed, or Thurs next week. Afternoons are generally better for us. We live about a mile from the city centre. Don't mind what we do: a walk in the park and play on the swings if nice weather, or indoor play centre / cuppa + big wedge of cake if not nice? Any other ideas?

dressedupnowheretogo · 20/10/2007 23:44

me and ponka are going to denz next monday the 29th at abot 9.30 shold anyone want to join us

Alseymum · 21/10/2007 11:11

We might join you if I manage to get organised enough...we are normally still having breakfast at 9:30! Any idea how busy it will be on a Monday morning? The last time we went was at 1:30 and parking was chaos.

dressedupnowheretogo · 21/10/2007 15:18

i wold have thought monday morning will be quite quiet

i would have thought i'd be there all mornign

dresseduptogotrickortreating · 28/10/2007 22:17

we'll deffo be there from 9.15 am tomorrow at denz
its on ueens road also known as the a6005 in beeston just after the turn off for the sorting office and boots hq

big carpark and free for under ones

Alseymum · 29/10/2007 14:44

Hi, we were there at about 10:15 for half an hour. Didn't know what you look like and didn't want to risk asking the wrong person .... Car park was nice and empty when we arrived, but was chaos when we left, with a big queue of cars waiting to park. Let me know when you're going to Denz again and we'll try and make it.

dresseduptogotrickortreating · 29/10/2007 17:06

ahhh no im sorry we were there i have long brown hair and glasses and ponka has long light brown hair i have a little girl of 14 months blonde and ponkas little boys are blond and brown haired

Ponka · 30/10/2007 19:41

Oh that's a shame. It is hard, isn't it to find people you've never seen before! I guess going up to someone and saying "Are you dressed up?" might have got you some very strange responses . Dressedup was just saying while we were there that we should be wearing MN t-shirts or something. There's actually a pic of my boys on my profile to help you next time. We'll have to meet again somewhere soon.

How old is your little girl? There was one lady who made a friendly comment to us sometime near the beginning with an older baby/younger toddler. Was that you?

Alseymum · 31/10/2007 12:09

No, that wasn't me. My little girl will be 10 months next week. By the way, do you remember me stressing about taking my little one swimming on my own a few months back? Well, I finally did it this week! But we both found it rather stressful. How do other mums cope? I felt completely incapable!

Ponka · 31/10/2007 22:34

I'm sure you aren't incapable! I wouldn't call it very easy. Which pool did you go to? It helps if you go to one with good baby facilities. A playpen in the room you are changing in or one of those weird seats fixed on the wall and a nappy changer is really helpful. Going with other Mums helps somehow, too. I can do Tuesday mornings if you want to go but I don't know of a pool that is open around then. I can't do any other time because the rest of the time I have 2 so that's impossible!

aliminimad · 14/12/2007 11:58

It's all gone a bit quiet on here - anyone else struggling to juggle children, work, housework and still fit in Xmas shopping? I do some shopping online, but it's just not the same as having armfulls of shopping bags packed with cool gifts. Anyone fancy doing some last minute shopping in Nottingham? Company appreciated
