Hi all,

I volunteered to look after this local site but I have been poorly so haven't done much!

I will be adding local details on in the next few days

Oh no, I've only just come on and missed this thread. I hope you're all having a nice cuppa right now. Ds has gone swimming this morning with Grandparents so it's just me and dd.

Ponka · 16/07/2007 19:46

Sorry you missed it, AbbyLou. It was just Alldressedup and myself. We were thinking of doing something as a regular once a month thing though, if you are interested. Same goes for everyone (SueW, Purpleturtle, Elf).

Justaboutmanaging - You didn't make it, then. I'm wondering if you went into labour. Please could you let us know if you are O.K?

Robinpud, I've definately come across your name on an old Nottingham meet up thread although we've never made it to anything together. How long have you been over in Australia for?

Just as a random ditch attempt in case you are lurking, Blondie and Sereh/Squarer, are you still about? I really enjoyed meeting up with you two on the few occasions we managed it.

SueW · 16/07/2007 19:49

I took DD to a photo session at Phunky Fotos this morning. I got a special offer at the Derby Baby Show in April. DH came too. He said it's going to cost us a lot more than I expected (the offer included a 7x5 print). Eek.

Ponka · 16/07/2007 19:50

Alldressedup - Thanks for meeting me. I had a great morning. It was nice to chat with another Mum. I don't know too many. Your little DD is so cute and well behaved. We should do something again soon but at 60p per tiny block, I'll probably not bother buying any more cheese snacks!

Ponka · 16/07/2007 19:53

That's very interesting, SueW. Would you mind keeping me posted on that? They caught me when I was visiting a friend at the city hospital maternity suite. They have rung me a couple of times because I told them that I am really quite interested in them taking some photos for us when we have saved up a bit of money. I keep putting them off at the moment. Their photos on the display boards looked really nice when I saw them. I'm sure they can't still be more expensive than somewhere like Venture though, surely?

They took 317 photos of her. She is 10yo so we took along props - riding gear (but no horse!), books, violin and music/stand and DD herself!

From the 300+ they narrow down to 20-30 shots for a viewing session. If you want all the 20-30 shots and a digital photo frame to display them, it's £499. A 3-shot in a frame was about £125 I think.

In fact, I have found prices online here.

The photographer stopped every so often to show us particular shots he'd caught so we know there are some nice ones. To be honest, the nicest ones were when she was just being herself, I think, and dancing.

I'll let you know how we get on.

dressedupnowheretogo · 19/07/2007 09:24

sorry to hijack thread lol

where we all gonna meet next time then?

was thinking maybe we could all go swimming???

Ponka · 19/07/2007 14:15

It's alright! I had a look but it looks like the kind of stuff I was thinking about selling soon, too.

Swimming is a cracking idea but for me, that would have to be a Tuesday morning at around 10 in the middle of when DS1 is at nursery. If not, I'm stuffed because there's no way I can take both my two swimming on my own

dressedupnowheretogo · 19/07/2007 21:35

thats cool for me

Ponka · 21/07/2007 20:21

Where's good for swimming on a Tuesday morning? Any ideas?

Justaboutmanaging, any news? We met in the actual restaurant bit on the third floor of John Lewis and we were still there at 11:00

dressedupnowheretogo · 22/07/2007 08:35

what about beechdale

tassi · 22/07/2007 21:01

just wanted to say hello to all you mums in nottingham

Alseymum · 22/07/2007 23:06

Hello, anybody still up?

dressedupnowheretogo · 23/07/2007 07:58

ponka can you text me my phone has automatically deleted your text

hi ya to talli and allysmum

Ponka · 23/07/2007 20:14

Hi Tassi and Alseymum.

I've never been to Beechdale. I'd quite like to see what it's like. Will it be madly crowded in the Summer holidays? I read on the website that their hours change over the holidays so we'd have to ring up.

What about one Tuesday in a couple of weeks if it's open? Is anyone else up for a swim?

Alseymum · 24/07/2007 10:03

Hi Ponka and Dressedup, did you go swimming today? How old are your LOs? I might join you for a swim/splash around with my LO sometime, if you don't mind us gate-crashing. Never taken her on my own before though so, rather pathetically, a bit worried how I'll cope. Thanks Dressedup for the tip-off on the nursing bras, it arrived in the post today and it is lovely! Don't know how I put up with my big plain awful ones for so long. Hi to Tassi.

dressedupnowheretogo · 24/07/2007 11:23

lol allesmum we are trying to arrange a group swim in couplof weeks just need to work out where everyone is

Ponka · 24/07/2007 19:52

Lol Alseymum. No we didn't but we will soon and you are very welcome to join us. My first swim with DS1 was a sort of military operation I was so worried about it but it turned out to be not all that difficult.

winestein · 28/07/2007 15:36

Hello Nottingham laydeeees
Finally caught up with the local site (thanks to nudge from Ponka!)

Would be keen to meet up, but in general Tuesdays and Wednesdays are no-goes for me as I work those days. Anyone fancy a picnic on a Friday - Donkey Sanctuary at East Leake?

Ponka · 28/07/2007 19:45

Fridays are normally no good for me but I can do either the 17th of August or the one after that.

dressedupnowheretogo · 29/07/2007 16:34

we could do the 10 th of august
