Quite how far and wide are we MN-ers spread?

I'm in Egypt with my 3-mo multicultural DD (DH is Egyptian-Kurdish-British and we work in aid/social and cultural development). Although I'm occasionally homesick, I'm very happy that our LO will get a varied perspective of life, as well as being bilingual.

I see there are MN-ers as far away from the UK as UAE, S. Africa, Australia and NZ, as well as Europe.

How far afield and off the beaten track do we MN-ers get? From A(fghanistan) to Z(ambia)?

Haha, have just found 'From our own correspondent' thread here but would still be interested to get an idea of where in the world MN-ers are...

I think I must be the furtherst north. Latitude: 69.68 N
This places me within the arctic.

CairoLucy · 28/12/2009 21:47

Is that Lapland? Are you in fact Mother Christmas ?

nah! I am on the northern coast of norway. We have mountains, islands and fjords, not just flat landscapes with reindeer (althoug we have that too), and the northern lights.

I'm in Norfolk, broadcasting live from the Second World War.

CairoLucy · 28/12/2009 22:25

GQ&M - forgive me for the Lapland stereotype, couldn't resist the joke; your part of Norway sounds beautiful, will anyone beat 69.68 N? I wonder how far south MN gets?

Nice to see you here, Swampster. Decades, anon? How old do you think I am?

I'm a new MN-er and this is already the 2nd thread I've started; can see I'll get addicted. Am off to bed now but can't wait to see from where we get messages, as the sun shifts rounds the time-zones.

Been in California just over a year. Originally from Channel Islands. Not sure where I'll be this time next year.

WhatSheSaid · 29/12/2009 01:56

Quite a few MNers here in NZ, mostly in Auckland and Wellington. Not sure if any South Islanders on here anymore. If not, then I think the Wellingtonians will be the most southernmost MNers -latitude 41 South
