Quite how far and wide are we MN-ers spread?

I'm in Egypt with my 3-mo multicultural DD (DH is Egyptian-Kurdish-British and we work in aid/social and cultural development). Although I'm occasionally homesick, I'm very happy that our LO will get a varied perspective of life, as well as being bilingual.

I see there are MN-ers as far away from the UK as UAE, S. Africa, Australia and NZ, as well as Europe.

How far afield and off the beaten track do we MN-ers get? From A(fghanistan) to Z(ambia)?

Bangkok, Thailand - three kinds of weather here - hot, hotter and scorchio.

Bend, Oregon, USA here. Home of the pregnant man! Altitude around 3500ft so wasn't too surprised when it was -25C for a few days a couple of weeks ago!

I'm in Patras, a couple of hours south west-ish of Athens. It's a pleasant 20 degrees here right now, but the kids would do anything for a bit of UK snow. Apparently no mners here ...

Waving from the British Virgin Islands

Another Adelaide person here, hi ozziegirly.

Thumbells, I have several good mum friends in both Sydney and Newcastle with small kids - let me know if you want kid-friendly suggestions for restaurants or playspaces or whatnot in or around and I'll ask them.

TanteRose · 21/01/2010 02:27

checking in from Japan - roughly same time zone as Oz/NZ, but northern hemisphere so we are mid-winter here. Never much snow in Tokyo area though - LOADS in the north.

I'm an NZ South islander. I live in the Nelson lakes, about 100 km south of Nelson.

QwertyQueen - how do you find being back after so many years in London? Do you miss it? I miss London terribly.

BeanMachine · 26/01/2010 05:33

Bit late on this, but contributing to add another country: coming to you from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam... (before that Moscow, and possibly, very soon, Bangkok)

ZamMummyInGabs · 09/02/2010 07:47

I'm in Gaborone, Botswana. Only moved here in November after 5 years in Zambia (hence the name).... where I got married, had 2 kids and discovered MN! Originally from darkest Worcestershire via Peckham.

Buda · 09/02/2010 08:01

Am in Budapest, Hungary - hence the name. Previously lived in Bulgaria, Ho Chi Minh City (Hi BeanMachine - am jealous - would love to visit) and Bangkok.

WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2010 08:30

Delphine I think that makes you the most southernmost MNer in the world.

(Unless anyone is lurking who is in Christchurch/Dunedin/Invercargill etc)

ClaudiaSchiffer · 10/02/2010 04:48

I'm in adelaide too - maybe we should have a meet up?

I totally like the idea of house swaps - anyone fancy a few days in the Adelaide Hills - very hot here though. Am desperately missing UK drizzle.

Oh, am originally from Brighton/Cheltenham.

brightongirldownunder · 10/02/2010 05:24

I'm in Rozelle, Sydney (yes..I'm still here!!)

Love it to pieces, then I despise it for making me look like a sweaty bag lady, miss family and friends badly but don't miss recession or weather in UK, hate the fact that all our money goes on rent and bills but love that I wake up to cockatoos and rozellas in the morning........ etc etc ..........gah.....

Themasterandmargaritas · 12/02/2010 06:02

Hello Zam Are you all settled in? How do you find Gabarone after the bright lights of Lusaka?

claraquack · 25/02/2010 16:28

This is a bit late but I am currently in St Lucia, and was briefly in Pakistan.
