Geneva Meet-Up Thread. Anyone for wine and chocolate by the lake?

Thought that we could use a seperate thread to save us hijacking TML's thread with our Geneva chat.

Who is interested?

Assuming some of us still have young kids, we could meet during the day for glass of wine coffee somewhere child friendly, or a picnic? Botanical Gardens? Parc de Eaux Vives? Or nearer Nyon area. Depends where you all are.

Or do you want to get out sans enfants in the evenings?

Ooohh get you with your blog - I'm dead impressed.

Ta for info, so which day should we go in Sat or Sunday? As we are going out to see the Geneva Eagles and VIP dinner before Sat evening so Sat may be a rush.

strudelface · 10/12/2009 09:32

I have a jar (and a spare ) of marmite in my cupboard does that count

cariboo · 10/12/2009 09:36

Weird you should say that but I have a photo of something dd & I created last week... how to post it, though?

MmeLindt · 10/12/2009 09:38

No, a jar of marmite does not count.

Um, the parade is on Sunday late afternoon if I remember correctly. I am going in with the DC on Saturday to go skiing I think. Might go in again Sunday to the parade.

Found a programme here

In French so you can practice

Glad you had a good time
Count me in next time

MmeLindt · 16/12/2009 19:23

Oooooh, we have just been to the MOST fantastic place. The Hameau du Pere Noel. Utterly magical. You have to go there, if you have children under the age of 10yo. Santa Claus house in France. The DC had eyes like saucers.

ahem.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Shall we set a date for a meetup this or next week?

I am needing a night out after the last week and a half with DH and the kids.

We had a very relaxing time but I am ready to get back to normal life now.

Just thought. I have promised to take DD skating next week. We wanted to go to Nyon as the rink looks good there. Anyone want to meet for a vin chocolat chaud?

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone
Hope it was a good one
Well the snow has defo arrived here in Geneva
The kids are back at school today

When are we next out ?

strudelface · 04/01/2010 21:10

Happy New Year to all of the Genevois Mners!

The last of my visitors go on Wednesday - my kids (and DH) aren't back until next Monday.

But am free for evenings out...

Niftyblue · 05/01/2010 09:36

I can do evenings

MmeLindt · 05/01/2010 09:41

Lucky you, Nifty. Our school does not go back until Monday.

I can do an evening this week, next week is more difficult.

Niftyblue · 08/01/2010 12:09

Come on when are we meeting up again
NO pressure but I could do with a night out with MN

strudelface · 08/01/2010 16:53

Suggest a night Nifty - next week I can do any except Friday or Saturday. TheMysticMasseuse has also started a thread.

Kids go back on Monday - so can do daytime from them.

Also someone was asking about schools providing SN support and mentioned IIDL can you help? here

Niftyblue · 08/01/2010 20:01

I can do any night next week
I will fit in

And strudel I treated myself to cleanser and toner so no babywipes
If I break out in spots I will blame you

strudelface · 08/01/2010 21:08

What about Wednesday then?

God don't take skin advice from me - every winter my skin goes haywire - central heating and the cold. Spots AND wrinkles - not a good look.

Niftyblue · 08/01/2010 23:12

I can do Wednesday
what about everybody else?

cariboo · 08/01/2010 23:14

My dear ones! I thought you'd frozen to death!

MmeLindt · 08/01/2010 23:16

I cannot do any night next week. Already got 3 evenings out. Girls Night Out, Christmas Concert - school had problems with electricity and it had to be postponed and a dog training class.

Can you believe, all dog owners have to do a training class to learn how to take care of their dogs. Tis the law of the land, or the Canton at least. CHF 130 it costs. At least a friend of mine is going so we can sit together and chat then go out for a glass of wine afterwards.

Niftyblue · 08/01/2010 23:18

Cariboo wine stops you from freezing
I can pick you up next week if that suits you

Was just explaining to DH about the leek AGAIN
He just looked

cariboo · 08/01/2010 23:18

Am prostrate in bed atm. Terrible, awful gastric bug. Dear God! Thought I was done for...

MmeLindt · 08/01/2010 23:19

LOLOL at the leek story.

We need matching leek tshirts for our next meeting.

When newbies post that they are looking for info on Geneva, we will send them a tshirt and an invitation to come out for a drink

Poor you, Cariboo. A lot of going around. Our neighbour was ill over Christmas, the poor man.
