So you will miss us a bit

SuperBunny · 02/07/2009 03:43

Absolutely. I most definitely will

My garden have just organised a going away party for us but it is the day after we leave.

Leaving? What have I missed by being to busy to look at Mumsnet for weeks on end? I'm off to the UK on Tuesday to collect DS1 and bring him back for the summer. DS2 is already speaking fluent American - we start over, not again, and he wears underwear, not pants.

What is a paddling pool in American? Our baysitter had not a clue what we were talking about when we described our weekend and the fun DS2 had with his friends in the paddling pool .

tangarine · 02/07/2009 04:03

babysitter, obviously

jabberwocky · 02/07/2009 04:06

I think you mean a wading pool.

Bunny is headed back to the UK - and I never made it to Chicago for a meet-up

I still have a chance to meet dooney in August though.

tangarine · 02/07/2009 04:11

Thanks jabberwocky

dooneygirl · 02/07/2009 05:11

I saw that thread, too, Bunny. I would have been offended, but I guessed who started it without even looking. She tends to have quite negative things to say about Americans an awful lot of the time. So I ignored it. I think the only threads I put on "hide" are Madeline McCann ones, the one where someone was bragging about how lax they were on personal hygiene and safety standards, and threads bashing Americans with that person on it.

Can we have a new thread title that commemorates the people we are losing? And by losing, I mean people who are moving away, but are still expected to post here with some sort of regularity.

We watched a Wallace and Grommit movie today at the free movies. I'd never seen them before. It was G, but managed to scare Caitlin to death.

SuperBunny · 02/07/2009 14:55

D quite likes Wallace and Grommit but I forgot what the movie was about, so we watched it and that was quite scary. How do you explain a serial killer to a 3 yr old?

Well done for volunteering to do a new thread, Dooney

Wallace and Grommit is popular at our house - mainly with dh though! Is this a new one? Serial killer????

kickassangel · 03/07/2009 13:42

has the new thread started yet?

SuperBunny · 03/07/2009 17:17

You could start one, Kickass

But before you do, I want to say goodbye to mananny.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July and a very safe trip home on Sunday. I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks very muchly everybody I had a lovely last few days with my munchkins, got absolutely hammered with the bosses last night and stayed up late with them talking about the good ole days, and am feeling very loved and lucky. They made a hardback book of photos of the twins from 0-3.5 for me, so lovely! And gave me an industrial size bag of Swedish fish too

So, all I have to do now is party with my friends tomorrow, recover enough on Sunday to get my flight, then I will be back in the UK. Wow.

kickassangel · 04/07/2009 14:51
