Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

Do you know how long you'll be in justabout?

thelittlestkiwi · 13/11/2012 01:29

Private room is good. We were sharing a room designed for one with another family. Which mean't me sleeping on a mattress by the door that the nurses kicked every time they came in to do hourly obs. It was so grim.

I found the nurses very mixed and quickly became quite demanding. Don't let them fob you off! Particularly when it comes to pain relief which I found them very reluctant to give. Although you sound much more clued up about hospitals than I was!

So pleased you are home!

What is the treatment plan? Is there anything they can try for option 1?

Is that similar to what you were doing - but hopefully with more support?

Oh justabout what a few days you've had! Glad you're home and so glad the big nasties have been ruled out.

If it is the "faulty signal" reason, is that something that can be treated by blocking the signals?

Sending you lots of hugs... and a promise to sympathise over coffee the next time you have a free minute to relax.

So sorry you are having to deal with all this justa, how incredibly stressful. Spells with dc in hospital are always very draining and worrysome. I hope you are remembering to look after yourself as well as ds.
We are moving tomorrow, so I will be without internet for 5 days or so.
I know you will all miss me terribly, try to stay strong for each other Grin

So glad to hear that you're home justa. What a tough time you're having lately, have been thinking of you though and hope things start moving in the right direction for you all now.

I'll be happy to be an ear over coffee too.

Hope the move goes well AB.

meerkate · 14/11/2012 13:53

Grin at AB good luck pal, and hurry back after the five days are up (that's all you're allowed off here, mind! five and not a minute more)

justa - lovely to have you back home 'with us', so to speak Smile man oh MAN those differential diagnoses sound full-on...hope you soon find that everything subsides and that you get the help you need.

DH will be interviewed by Skype towards the end of the month for the Auckland job, so we'll see what happens. The Tauranga one isn't advertised until March. We'll see Smile

frikonastick · 14/11/2012 14:59

Good luck on the move AB, and meerkate, good vibes for your DH!

Hope you are having a better dy today justa :-)

vvviola · 14/11/2012 22:49

There's a brass band playing Christmas carols in the mall. Christmas carols Hmm in November! Angry. Thankfully DD1 isn't with me or she'd implode with excitement.

I have (yet another) confession. I wimped out on the $10 hair cut. I just couldn't do it. I went to just cuts today instead. I'm honestly not hugely impressed - but then my hair is a pain to cut at the best of times, and they've neatened it up a bit, for not a huge amount of cash.

xMinerva · 14/11/2012 23:48

Dp paid $55 for a bloody trim the other day in glenfield mall.

She didn't do a very good job. Think we'll stick to me doing it with clippers from now on.

justa I just mean there is always a bit of a heart-sink aspect to diagnoses where there is masses of uncertainty, isn't there - for you as a parent especially - and clearly your doctors don't know how this is all going to pan out. [As you so rightly said above 'idiopathic' (a word that always makes me smile) just means 'we haven't a clue why this has happened!'] Which means, on the plus side, that there is CERTAINLY room for optimism! There is just SO much that isn't known about the mind-body-spirit interactions, isn't there. Most GPs, myself included, will only have perhaps one experience of a child with this sort of problem in years and years of practice, so no GP could ever claim expertise in this area. But one thing is for sure, no-one knows what the course of a problem like this will be. Perhaps it will all settle down mysteriously again - fingers tightly crossed!

I've been up for an hour & a half with DD2, and now the infernal thing is hooting outside my window again so I can't sleep Angry

lollystix · 16/11/2012 18:20

Checkout the new John Lewis ad on you tube - I actually cried .

Would copy and paste the link but I can't figure that one out

WhatSheSaid · 17/11/2012 19:44

I just read in the Herald, apparently that ad was filmed in Queenstown
