Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

We were at Browns Bay Beach this evening. Not until after we had decided to drive North though and ended up completely lost on a gravel road on the side of a valley with no phone signal or radio or map.

When we eventually found our way out of the wilderness, we were all starving and came across Sheep World! Well, the boys had fun, feeding and petting lambs and dp and I enjoyed the food in cafe.

I love going to the beach now. Knackers the boys right out and that's what I like? Means I can get a coffee from Starbucks, drive around for a bit, the boys fall asleep in the car just in time for me to park up somewhere and my coffee to be cool enough to drink.

Very jealous of that journey frik Envy

Hope you get that funding justa and good news about the parking.

hahaha vvviola I really feel your pain - think of the beaches in Perth!!! long empty expanses of BAKING white sand, zero shade, temperature regularly 40 degrees in high summer, harsh light bouncing off the sand into your eyes, and of course all the usual problems (when we were there the kids were 3 and 18 mths - 3 yr-old rarely paused for breath between tantrums) exacerbated by sand-bloody-everywhere! I think I went about twice!! But I actually love beaches in less extreme circs. It was such relief to get to NZ the year after and find all these absolutely amazing beaches to explore minus the searing temperatures and with so much more variety Smile

frikonastick · 10/11/2012 16:56

Oh god yes, bloody beach sand. I hate it! LOVED the beach BC (before children) massively can't be arsed with nightmare of the sand now though. We lived in Dubai years ago, and there they had a beach park which had rolling lawns with palm trees right on the edge of the sand. And that was way more my speed. Sit in the shade, watch everyone else get hot sweaty and sandy Grin

I much prefer beaches for walking along ifyswim, I don't even mind if its cold!

AB- so sorry to hear your news.

Justabout-all sounds very stressful. Are you at Starship? I almost went crazy during my week there. If you are I hope you are in a better room than we were. I've heard that Ronald MacDonald house is worth checking out. The food options are just dire and I think they feed you.
