Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

30 minutes of Monsoon this am littlest so your veggies will be ok Wink

lollystix · 28/10/2012 19:03

Monsoon with a capital M - Freudian slip. Monsoon I wish!

xMinerva · 28/10/2012 19:10

Good luck this morning AB sorry to hear about little bunny.

Hope all the sick ones are better soon. I can handle most things but sickness bugs really get to me. Especially when both children get it at the same time.

Making cakes and lemonade today as it looks miserable out there.

vvviola · 28/10/2012 20:25

frikonastick we considered it, but decided that with a 4 year old and a 5 month old it might not exactly be relaxing! Sounds wonderful though.

Good luck today AB I've got everything crossed for you Smile.

AngryBeaver · 28/10/2012 21:37

love Monsoon lolly
Well, no heartbeat. But they think that I am 3 weeks earlier than I had thought, so possibly too early to detect. I have to go back in 10 days. Stress and Sad

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 28/10/2012 22:52

Oh AB, sorry to hear that.

Fingers crossed for when you go back.

xMinerva · 28/10/2012 23:18

Oh AB sorry.

If you are 3 weeks earlier than thought, what would that make you now?

Will be keeping my fingers crossed for you also. X

Thanks, I thought I was about 8+4, they think I am 5 +5. They said they can only detect the heartbeat when the sac is 10mm, mine is 7. She did say as far as she could see, it looked like a "normal early pregnancy" with "no alarm bells" but still was a disappointment. I was steeling myself for bad news, but I am only tough on the outside I think. Dh wanted to come, but I refused. He said "Don't you want me to support you?!" I just said "I can manage!" it sounds awful but I suppose I feel it's easier if it's just me.
The more people involved the more real it seems.
Anyway, can you lot be good cyber friends and entertain m for the next 10 days??!!Wink

And my impulsiveness has got me in strife again. the kids were so upset by bunny death (pet shop lady thinks death due to cat scaring it to deatth Sad) that I thought, we can't get a dog, I'm allergic to cats, no more bunnies, turtles have salmonella..I know, a mouse! Yeah, Mr. Jingles! Ahhh, sweet, they can teach it tricks and it can be left if we go away, inexpensive..perfeck!

So dd and ds1 are dead excited, we ordered the cage, all good. Then I called into petshop today to have a look at some?
OMFG...they fecking STINK,and I hate them!!!
The stinky jumpy mousy faced bastards! Why why why, didn't I go and look at them first

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 00:35

Grin at "mousy faced bastards". I had a pet rat once .

justabout thanks for that Tesco code, I rushed an order through before kindy and saved an extra $15 becaus of the code. It was hard not to go mad with th e ordering when kids leggings were £2.40 each!

AngryBeaver · 29/10/2012 01:01

yes thanks for the code justa, I too have placed an enormous order! Stripey boys tops for £2.50, 5 pack of girls knicks for £3? Yes please!!

OP posts:
WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 01:17

Too late now but remember big orders can get charged import duty here! If it's free shipping, best to place lots of smaller orders. I think you have to spend quite a lot on clothes before the import charges kick in though.

My order this morning only came to £29 but blimey, I got a lot for that.

Having said that, I went to K Mart on Saturday (got a big dolls house for the dds for Christmas from their granny) and they had $5 kids leggings and $7 for 7 pairs of girls knickers. I should look in there more often.

I think it's around £120? We did seperate ordrers too. Not been to Kmart yet, are they good for toys?
Got a few pressies for my Mum for Xmas that I want for myself today, then put petrol in the car and my card declined! I had to do the walk of shame back to the car, where, luckily I had $40 in my purse!
I got back home and said to dh, "The flippin' card was declined in the petrol station!" and he said not looking up from playstation
"oh yeah, I thought that might happen"
Hmm

xMinerva · 29/10/2012 02:52

I did a big tesco clothes shop just before we flew out so actually alright for clothes. Might do one in the next sizes anyway.

The dolls house, is that the $99 one? My boys saw it and loved it and was thinking about getting it for them (I'm choosing to ignore that it was pink and lilac and not yellow or red or orange)

I think K mart is ok. I needed some trousers for lounging round the house and got 2 pairs of plain cotton joggers for $5 each. The jeans didn't look too bad either at $20 (iirc)

xMinerva · 29/10/2012 02:53

That's next size for the boys, not me.

WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 02:58

Yep, K mart are pretty good for toys, prob about the same price as the Warehouse but they have some own brand stuff and they have quite big sales. I got a huge dolls house (will be taller than 2 yo dd2 and prob almost as tall as 4yo dd1) with some furniture for $99. Sort of chipboard material, my friend has one and says they're pretty sturdy. You really could check out K Mart, I think there's one in Hamilton?

WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 03:00

X posted, Minerva, yes, the big $99 one. Dd1 saw it the other week and asked how much it was. When I said $99 she wistfully asked if she had saved up $99 in her pocket money yet :). I then had the idea of asking for it for Christmas from mil as a present for both of them so it is now hidden away in the garage.

AngryBeaver · 29/10/2012 03:01

Yeah, there is. Dh got something from there when we got here. Might have been the bbq. But I never go into Hamilton! I sahll make the effort to go to Kmart!

Oh AB keeping things crossed for you.

On the subject of mice (hopefully this story will fall under information on mice and entertainment). We had white mice when we were kids - they don't smell too much if the cage is kept clean. One of mine escaped down the back of the central heating unit. We searched for it for ages but no luck until Mum told me she saw it out on the golf course that we backed on to. I was probably 8 or 9 at the time. It only emerged about 3 years ago that after 3 days of having a mouse running around Mum couldn't take it any more and put down a trap. She'd seen it on the golf course because that's where she'd thrown it after she caught it!! GrinSad

That's a pain about the fridge justa.Sad

Another Kmart fan here. I got a great rechargeable vacuum with handheld bit there for $70 - is great for clearing up a little during the day and avoiding crumbs on the floor which might be a problem for DD2.
