Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

Whoops, got a bit burnt on the shoulders/back sitting at the cafe this morning. It doesn't hurt though.

When I've been burnt before it stung like hell but this doesn't at all.

Must remember to be more careful. They weren't kidding when they said this sun is strong were they?

Good to see you both though justa & vvv

Don't worry about it, they didn't share milkshakes this time so we should be ok. Grin. Hope he feels better soon, poor boy.

Well done for redeeming yourself. I love tesco clothing for the boys. Cheap, cheerful, washes well and lasts. May have to get an order in then.

Oh forgot to say, thank-you for the nappies vvv much appreciated. X

vvviola · 26/10/2012 20:21

Oh the poor little guy, justabout. You weren't to have known.

Minerva in case you haven't seen; if you go on to the grabone deals, they have a deal on nappy liners today... Grin

Glad you had a good day and hope ds3 is a bit better?

This is why we moved to NZ

I said this exact thing this evening when ds1 was still swimming in the pool at 6pm. We're just so much more laid back and relaxed here. It's fabulous.

Anyway, going out tonight (yipeeeee) so better go get ready.

WhatSheSaid · 27/10/2012 08:21

Ha, we spent a lovely afternoon at local beach/playground and bumped into a Scottish friend there with his little girl and he said to me "Days like this are why I love New Zealand". I see a theme developing here :)

AngryBeaver · 27/10/2012 09:03

Hello everyone, I am back from a glorious couple of days in Whangapoua! Courtesy, I may add of a MNer friend, who kindly offered us her bach, free of charge.
Wow, what a beautiful part of the country.
White unspoilt beach, aqua water and deserted! The littlies had such a blast. Especially dd, who was boogie boarding, she looked quite the wee kiwi!
I know it was only for 2 nights, but I really feel like it has made a difference. I think I really needed a change of scenery, more than I realised.
I felt truly happy, for the first time in a long while.
Just lovely.
Dd suddenly became ill today and we decided to get back asap, we managed to get around 30 mins from home before she redecorated the car!
Unfortunately then, we got home to a nasty suprise... our poor bunny was dead! Dd was hysterical. I know it's only a rabbit but I feel really sad... I think we had better never get a dog!
justa I hope ds3 is on the mend?

Aww hope all sick I kids get better! Vomiting is nasty, I had that dread of not knowing when the next one will come - not much of a sympathetic parent unfortunately!

WhatSheSaid · 27/10/2012 19:20

Glad you had such a brilliant time away AB, couple of days break can do the world of good sometime. Sorry about the bunny though!

Urgh, en masse sickness is the worst, you all have my sympathies!

AngryBeaver · 28/10/2012 07:11

We have it here too justa, yuk. Scrubbing sick out of pillows is not something I relish!
Scan tomorrow, feeling a bit nervous

Sympathies to all with the vile vommy bug.

AB- good luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. How many weeks a you now?

We fly back on Tuesday. It's been a long trip and I'm a bit over travelling now. It's been lovely seeing everyone- about 30 folk came out in Edinburgh last night to see dh which is pretty god going given he hasn't lived here in about 7 or 8 years.

I've had way more or a wobble than I expected. Stuff here is so cheap and food amazing. But we've had a couple of nasty incidents with drunks/thugs in Edinburgh so there is no way I'd want dd growing up here. And the weather has been horrid. I miss outdoors.

lollystix · 28/10/2012 09:27

And we've had amazing weather here Littlest this weekend you know. It's felt like a mini holiday to me and it was just the weekend.

thelittlestkiwi · 28/10/2012 09:32

I hope my garden has survived. Has it rained at all? Someone was watering it for me but she is away herself now.

Yes it's rained Littlest. This weekend was lovely but we've had some pretty heavy rain before that. Gorgeous this weekend and starting to feel summery now, this is the six months of the year I really love.

frikonastick · 28/10/2012 17:48

Good luck tomorrow AB :-)

So, is it very expensive to buy stuff online? The shipping I mean?

DH and I looking at flights etc and I hit on this idea, fly to Singapore and then take a cruise ship to auckland!! Surely I am a genius? Anyone else done something like this?
