Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

You should see my washing line..there is a possum, then our dead rabbit, then the stinky mice...I would fit in perfectly

OP posts:
lollystix · 29/10/2012 07:52

I had a dead mouse delivered to my door this am. We could add him to the collection. Ds2 commented that the sleeping mouse had had his eyes closed all day.

We had beef and cheese sausages for dinner tonight.

They were NOT nice!

I really need to spend more time looking around the supermarket rather than just throwing food in the trolley and hoping for the best.

Bit early (apparently) but anyone know a good place/places for stocking fillers?

xMinerva · 29/10/2012 08:08

Oh and sorry, I took so long to come back because I was stuffing an egg and bacon sarnie down my throat.

Told you, those sausages were not nice.

WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 08:14

No no no, sausages with cheese are just wrong.

Dd2 is getting stocking fillers from the $2 shop - stuff she would get anyway like felt tips, colouring books etc.

So far for dd1's stocking I have some little books from the Warehouse that were $3 each and some Princess knickers (thanks Tesco :) ) will get little bits from Whitcoulls, Warehouse, maybe Book Depository. I check out who is having a sale on Salefinder.co.nz and buy accordingly

Justa - v exciting re medication! I have a good feeling about it Smile sat in with a Dutch child psychiatrist once who worked here for a few years - he couldn't believe how weedy and pathetically over-cautious we UK GPs were about ritalin and other such meds - he was a massive enthusiast and told me lots of stories about lives being turned around in Holland where they 1/ diagnose and 2/ treat children much, much earlier. I dunno - he was a bit of a maverick! - but I definitely think it's worth a try - well done pal.

AB GOOD LUCK and let's hope that it is just a strange quirk of timing and all is well - NO reason to suspect otherwise at this stage...fingers v tightly crossed xxx on a more frivolous note, I have the answer to your rodent dilemma - gerbils! I have had nearly every rodent known to man over the last few years in this house and I can assure you that gerbils don't smell, need far fewer cage changes than any other rodent (don't get me started on Bloody Guinea Pigs) and are very sociable and not nocturnal like hamsters. However, they ARE quite rodent-y - no getting around that one! I was at the outer limit of my comfort zone on that front!

xMinerva 'beef and cheese sausages'?!?! I can't believe you threw that in so casually!!! YIKES...Please tell me what you're eating tonight - looking v much fwd to the next instalment Wink I had quite forgotten the entertainment value of menus thrown up by the aisles of the average NZ supermarket!!

vvviola · 29/10/2012 12:02

AB, am sure you're give to bed now, but I just wanted to send you some good wishes & love xx

frikonastick · 29/10/2012 13:01

yy can totally second the gerbils. much better than mice :-)

sending you good vibes AB

xMinerva · 29/10/2012 19:16

Sorry, decided on an early night last night.

Hope you are ok this morning AB?

Boring pork chops for dinner tonight Meerkate. Got loads of lamb in the freezer too but I don't like lamb so dp gonna stick them on the BBQ for himself at the weekend if it's nice, now I can do another shop and pay a bit more attention to what I'm buying. The boys love those chicken cocktail sausages so at least I got one thing right last time. Lol.

vvviola · 29/10/2012 20:30

Sending good vibes AB.

And in case distraction is still required, I have a totally frivolous dilemma... The last time I got my hair cut was in December last year, so it's well overdue. But it seems so expensive here and money is a little tight.

On the school run, I walk past a Korean (I think) salon, connected to someone's house, it advertises hair cuts for $10! I've seen quite a few of these places around - from the signs they usually seem to be Korean. Has anyone tried one or am I better off swallowing the pain and going to one of the salons in Albany mall or somewhere (and waving around my student card in the hopes I qualify for a discountGrin). It would just be for a cut, no colour or anything too complicated.

See, told you it was frivolous Grin

WhatSheSaid · 29/10/2012 20:43

How are you today AB?

vvviola those cheaper salons can be fine if you just want a cut. I go to Just Cuts usually, they are about $25 and absolutely fine. I've been to a salon where I paid $80 and I don't think the cut was any better.
