Morning all :)

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Western Australia. I'm looking at the pink and grey gallahs sitting in the garden and the white butterflies fluttering around the spring flowers in my MILs garden. It's lovely and I'm dreading going back to Beijing where the pollution index, right now, is 301 which means children shouldn't leave the house. Hmm can someone remind me why I'm going back again?

Anyway, where are you, how's the weather and what are you doing today?

OP posts:
TanteRose · 21/10/2011 02:50

Morning, Comrade Smile

Bit cloudy in my neck of the woods (south of Tokyo) today...rain forecast for the whole of the weekend, which is a bummer Sad

Autumn in Japan is usually lovely, with all the gorgeous colours of the leaves, but due to the massive typhoon that swept across eastern Japan a few weeks ago, many of the trees got "leaf burn" from the salt wind, and turned a dull shade of brown before dropping off...Sad

Oh well, its my day off today, and I'm off the get my new iPhone Grin

TanteRose · 21/10/2011 02:50

off to get

QwertyQueen · 21/10/2011 03:50

It is also spring here in Cape Town, but it could be summer really - it has been very warm.
So glad to put winter behind me as there is so little to do here in bad weather, it is all geared for outdoor life... looking forward to the late afternoons, when it is cooler, on the beach having picnics and exploring rock pools with my DCs :)
Oh, and all the good chilled wine.

bunnygirl80 · 21/10/2011 04:52

It's sunny here in Sydney too - the thermometer says it's currently 29 degrees, and as it's still spring it's not humid yet so all in all it's a very pleasant day.

It's my day off today, so I've been for a pub lunch with my mother's group. DS is having his afternoon nap, so I'm mning doing all the housework, then we'll play in the garden for a bit

fraktious · 21/10/2011 05:06

Envy of qwerty - we want to move to CT. If DH gets made redundant he's up for looking at jobs there.

It's another sunny but slightly hazy heavy hot humid in Reunion.

allhailtheaubergine · 21/10/2011 05:16

Oman here. Just gone 8 in the morning and already 31 degrees in the shade. Friday is weekend here and we will spend the day in the pool with friends.

barbie1 · 21/10/2011 05:20

Checking in from dubai, 20 month old dd already out splashing in the paddling pool and has been since 7am...beautiful morning. Glad we are approaching winter so we can start making the most of the outdoors.

desnatada · 21/10/2011 05:46

Hi we live in Singapore. It's about 35 degrees today and we are in the middle of another downpour and thunder storm. My son is on school holidays and we are kind of stuck with things to do because of the bad weather. He is on a playmate just now and my other son is taking a nap. I am having my lunch whilst surfing ;)

desnatada · 21/10/2011 05:46

..sorry, playdate.

FearfulYank · 21/10/2011 06:01

USA here, Minnesota to be precise. :)

It's midnight and pretty cold...31 degrees which is -0.5 your temp, apparently. I stayed up late because DH just got home from a business trip and I missed him.

Bubbaluv · 21/10/2011 06:01

Another one from sunny Sydney. Took the boys for their swimming lessons this morning and there was a whale with calf just off-shore and a crab in the pool!
Great time of year here.

Glimmerberry · 21/10/2011 06:17

Shetland Islands.

It's 6.15am, cold and dark. Been awake for an hour expressing from an engorged boob while my 7 week old sleeps. Didn't sleep too much yesterday and got very grizzly so i don't have the heart to wake him to relieve things naturally...

samoa · 21/10/2011 06:28

Morning from Cameroon. Just woke up and it is foggy at the moment, we are in the rainy season. It is 6:27am, dd just had milk and now I am thinking about my own breakfast Grin

pointyearedpixie · 21/10/2011 06:28

We're in Hong Kong - glorious day, just starting to get a tiny bit cooler (27Cish?) during the day now which is bliss! It's 1.30 and i'm looking out over the sea and thinking about what to do this afternoon after nap time...

Slightlyreluctantexpat · 21/10/2011 06:29

Kuala Lumpur. Watching the news from Libya whilst eating my lunch. A bright sunny day here.

Thzumbazombiewitch · 21/10/2011 06:37

Hello from Lake Macquarie, NSW! Well nearly anyway - we can see it from our back yard Wink

Glad you're enjoying your time here, Comrade, bummer about having to go back but FX it's not for too long, hey?

31 deg in the shade here today - house has heated up - sign of things to come!
Went to see The Smurfs with DS this morning, that was fun; then came home and the boys are now outside playing with water pistols (supersoaker variety)

PeriPathetic · 21/10/2011 06:50

Morning!

Germany here. It's about 6 degrees and I'm just waiting for DD to get ready for school. She's being s l o w as usual.

Half term next week and she & DH are off to the UK while I stay at home to pet-sit... and have a break.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 21/10/2011 06:54

Adelaide Hills, South Australia here. It's now 4.20pm, I'm having a cup of tea after school pick up.

I've spent the day at the zoo getting the venue ready for a work dinner tonight. I've put together 250 goodie bags and shown dd(aged 4) the pandas and pygmy hippos who are UNBELIEVABLY cute.

Cool day today though about 17 degrees and foggy up here in the hills. Brrr.

Glimmerberry being in the Shetlands sounds lovely. Do you go to the Film Festival there? I listened to Mark Kermode talk about it on his film podcast. It sounded fun.

Barmcake · 21/10/2011 07:01

Another one in Oman (waves to allhail) up a bit late this morning as had a late night last night, watching the news, probably go for a swim later as it is still hot here

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/10/2011 07:06

Paris. Not quite light, and cold. Glimmer - my cousin is a midwife (the midwife?) in Shetland.

DuffyMoon · 21/10/2011 07:29

Near Blackpool, eating my breakfast then off to work. It is classic illuminations weather - horizontal rain and force 10 gales

SeoraeMaeul · 21/10/2011 07:31

Afternoon pointearedpixie, another hong kong'er here
Lovely day isn't it Grin

Rillyrillygoodlooking · 21/10/2011 07:39

Christchurch, NZ. Its 7.40pm, I am waiting for the kids to go to sleep and my friend to come round for a takeaway curry. Its raining and a bit cold.

DH will come home from a week working in Aus at 1am. He will then have to get up at 6am to take me to the airport as I am going to see my friend on the North Island - woo hoo! She rang to tell me to bring a t-shirt! Woo hoo!
excessive amount of exclamation marks - apologies.

papooshka · 21/10/2011 07:55

and a good afternoon to you all from Singapore :) it has been thunderstorming all morning and now its just drizzling, temp is a cool (for here) - about 27 degrees I reckon.

1 child is having a nap, another child is watching balamory and I am surfing whilst drinking yorkshire tea...see you can take the girl out of England....

gregssausageroll · 21/10/2011 08:40

I have recently gone from Perth, WA back to Perth, Scotland. Not liking it but heyho!

08.40 on Friday morning. Cold, dark and pretty miserable.

Really wishing I was with the OP!
