Morning all :)

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Western Australia. I'm looking at the pink and grey gallahs sitting in the garden and the white butterflies fluttering around the spring flowers in my MILs garden. It's lovely and I'm dreading going back to Beijing where the pollution index, right now, is 301 which means children shouldn't leave the house. Hmm can someone remind me why I'm going back again?

Anyway, where are you, how's the weather and what are you doing today?

Morning! A chilly bright day in the Netherlands. Today the kids are in creche and I have the day off, so am going shopping then tackling a whole load of admin jobs, one of which is sorting out a remortgage so we can get the bathroom moved, new flooring and some patio doors put in.

Principality of Monaco. I rushed DD to her school & DS to his part-time nursery this morning, and now am waiting for my 10 AM training appointment (I have delusions of running a 10K in Jan, months before my 41st birthday). Weather is only now getting slightly cool (light sweater over t-shirt) and there are a few clouds in the sky. But the sea is calm and it all looks quite lovely from where in sitting on a bench overlooking the port Smile

Hello from Lusaka, Zambia. Spring at the moment here but about 32C on average during the day. Lovely sunny morning, eating my breakfast on the verandah then off for a lovely swim later.

Putrifyno · 21/10/2011 08:55

Morning from Brussels! It is a lovely sunny day, but chilly. The temp dropped to freezing last night. I am at work, dd is at school, very glad it is Friday!

fastweb · 21/10/2011 08:59

Northern Italy, just south of Milan.

Sunny, but cold.

Monte Rosa obsured from bathroom window view

Clouds building as they slide in my direction from the Alps.

It just doesn't DO drizzle here.

More like somebody emptying a gigantic bath tub right on your head in one big sploosh.

pissedrightoff · 21/10/2011 09:00

Highlands of Scotland here,There is snow on the hills and it's bloody freezing,

pointyearedpixie · 21/10/2011 09:36

Hello SeoraeMaeul!

And turning into a lovely evening! Thinking drinks on the balcony after bath and bedtime....

macsaid · 21/10/2011 09:48

dreich, grey, blustery, showery Scotland but at least we don't have the scary extreme weather conditions of other climes

SeoraeMaeul · 21/10/2011 10:16

To pointyearedpixie - Now what a good idea! And lets hope it lasts my kids are on holiday next week :)

AuldAlliance · 21/10/2011 11:04

Provence.
Blue sky, sun, and the mistral has finally dropped. Still a bit chilly, though, but that may be the contrast with the 28° that went on for about four months... The autumn colours are gorgeous here.

fastweb · 21/10/2011 11:41

and the mistral has finally dropped

I think we had that yesterday.

Poor rabbit looked most put put with his fur being blow the wrong way everytime he venutred out of the outdoor hutch.

Had to bring him in early due to extreme lapin displeasure in the form of hissing.

Never knew bunnies could hiss.

IdontknowwhyIcare · 21/10/2011 12:02

Afternoon all. Its 3pm Friday (weekend afternoon). Just baking bread for afternoon tea, whilst DH is snoozing and Ds is doing homework. Went out earlier to see Jonny English ;-) and on the way back it was 35. Will enjoy the cooler evening outside in the garden. Whoopeee winter is on its way.

thanksamillion · 21/10/2011 12:28

Afternoon everyone. It's 2.30pm here in Moldova. Beautiful blue sky today but the wind is chilly. We're in the brief respite between baking summer and freezing winter so making the most of being outside when we can.

TheBrideofFrankenstein · 21/10/2011 12:54

8pm in Hong Kong and I have to say that this week we have had the most perfect weather. If I could bottle it and apply it 265/365, I would. Vest, jeans and flip flop weather.

Just waiting for DH to get home for dinner and on my 2nd glass of wine.

BriocheDoree · 21/10/2011 14:29

West of Paris, in the Yvelines. Beautiful cold, bright day. Sun shining through the forest autumn colours making everything gold and orange. Not a cloud in the sky. Still, suspect my sister (who arrives tomorrow from Sydney) will be shivering!!

Mummysaysno · 21/10/2011 14:34

Another Hong Kong-er here - yes a glorious day! Spent this morning at the beach, although had to give up in the end as we were mobbed with coach loads of tourists taking photos of the kids, trying to pose with the kids, etc. Need to learn how to say 'No more photos please' in Cantonese and Mandarin!
Looking out across the sea, the end of a really rather nice day!

Anewstart · 21/10/2011 14:42

New York - our rain and wind has eased up and its a beautiful autumn day here.

ComradeJing · 21/10/2011 14:43

I love these threads :) but hate those of you in NSW, you know who you are ;)

Next question... How long do you see yourself staying where you are?

I'm hoping for only another 6-9 months in Beijing but 5 years is a possibility.

I'm in Brittany. It's sunny and cold which is the best weather you can get imo. This is supposed to be for life but my feet get itchy.

ben5 · 21/10/2011 14:48

comradeJing Hello from another WA perosn! I'm in Rockingham 45km south of Perth. What a lovely day it has been today! Hope you come back soon to the most wonderful part of the world

jen127 · 21/10/2011 14:48

County Kildare Ireland - Dry but overcast. I am unsure if it is ever anything else :-(

ComradeJing · 21/10/2011 14:51

Oh a lovely part of the world ben I'm in Mandurah with PIL right now. Tis not really a lovely part of the world as it is just bloody mile after mile of suburbia but yes the weather was stunning today!

ben5 · 21/10/2011 14:59

ComradeJing is there something going on, on Sunday in Mandurah? I like my part of Warnbro sound!

Thzumbazombiewitch · 21/10/2011 15:29

Awww Jingy
You'll be right, you'll be out of China in 6m, you will. I have faith for you.

Will be in NSW indefinitely - tis our home now, DH being Aussie an' all. Much though I love the UK and still miss it, I do realise that it is better for DS to be here - so much more opportunity and far less bollocks going on here (competition for school places much less, far less hassle with other political shit as well) - and we have a swimming pool! So we're stopping here.

FearfulYank · 21/10/2011 15:35

I'll probably always live in Minnesota. I love it here and it feels like home. My family and I moved her from Ohio when I was seven. :)

I would like to travel though, maybe one day even (gasp) out of North America! :)
