Belgian MNetters Meetup!

Portofino · 31/01/2011 21:57

All this talk of new movers and schools has made me remember that we must reschedule the Xmas Meetup (cancelled due to snow/extreme minus temps).

So who is interested?

When?

Where?

(Kreecher HAS to come before she moves back to Blighty as I NEED to see photos of Yum Yum Franky)

Otherwise I am easy!

What do you think?

Oh my, DD was shocked when we visited Antwerp last year. We took her to the cinema and opposite was a SEX shop. She was really giggly about it.
Having lived in a part of Switzerland where it was illegal (Catholic canton) she really couldn't get her head around it.

It looks like STIB might be quite badly affected. Not sure about De Lijn yet. And this reminds me - I haven't booked that table yet!

Not sure I will make it with the strike and all. Not feeling keen to drive as I don't know that area.

monkeybumsmum · 03/03/2011 20:46

frazzle, if you can get to auderghem I can give you a lift from there as am collecting longtime at about 12.30... Hope that's ok longtime?

frazzlenz · 03/03/2011 20:51

Have a nice time. i am getting into my OLIAS persona. Without being given any guidance whatsover, all I can do is sit and mumble about space and the lack of privacy.

Portofino · 04/03/2011 11:00

Do you need to take gruel with you? I guess beating the children is not allowed? Grin

I will go and brave the no 3 tram in half an hour or so. Had no problems getting to work.

12.30's great monkey. We could take the metro from here if you like. I can hear then running along the back of my house!

Portofino · 04/03/2011 11:12

There is no table booked still as the phone goes straight to fax. I'll meet you outside at 1.

Well monkey and I had an eventful journey back. There was a French guy in front of us who drove into the back of someone. Obviously no damage as they were all smiles. Off we went again. Further down the road French guy completely unaware the traffic had started again so was blocking the road. He then took off and went straight through a red light! We catch up with him again only to find that he's run into the back of the SAME car! Not so many smiles this time though.

Monkey dropped me off near Delta and there was a rather odd-looking woman all ready to hop in! To be fair it's where the hitchhikers often stand but still!

monkeybumsmum · 04/03/2011 17:16

I thought she was going to leap into the car Shock Sorry we didn't get to say bye to each properly!

Was lovely to see you both at lunch, hope we can get the cinema sorted out...

LongtimeinBrussels · 04/03/2011 17:29

I'm going to be home alone tomorrow :( . Anyone fancy the cinema then?

Portofino · 04/03/2011 17:43

Is it all day or just the evening you are alone?

I could do something like Gullivers Travels with DD at teatime, or possibly on my own later on. We have been invited to a friend's for dinner one night but not sure yet if tomorrow or Sunday......will find out when dh gets home from the pub work.
