New thread as I see the old one is about the run out.

Sorry but I do think people need to be a touch realistic here. If appropriate pain medication has been sorted out, and let’s hope it has, then bearing in mind the strength of the drugs the OP would need to be on to be free from pain, I don’t think she’ll be able to read these posts anymore let alone update for goodness sake. I think it’s in poor taste to keep fishing for updates by posting photos etc.

@Pansypotter123
@Museya15

im sure lots of people are worried, but posters kept telling Pamela not to worry about updating.

I'm not being the thread police, but I don't think these gloomy worries will do Pamela any good to read. Could we leave them
in the broom cupboard and focus on positive support?!

Hopefully she's just building up
strength for the chemo to start tomorrow xx

What's gloomy about it? The poor woman is dealing with a hell of a situation. Get real.

Agree.
I really do hope Pamela is on proper pain medication now but having been through this with a parent, once this pain medication begins, the amount of time the person is lucid during the day is very much reduced and that time would be spent talking to family or simply being awake in their presence.

lucylulululu · 11/07/2023 13:12

@Skinnermarink I think most people know that and just want to keep sending positive photos full of hope to let Pamela know we are thinking of her. No one is obligated to know anything, but should she choose to continue to read our posts/have kerr read them to her, we can let her know that we care, and alongside the most important support she can have, her family, she also has the support of hundreds of people around the world, and can feel happy knowing the impact she has had on so many of us, and what an inspiration and amazing person she is 💐

Thinking of you and your family Flowers I hope you’re getting the treatment you need.

LinaCavalieri · 11/07/2023 14:06

@Skinnermarink I don't think posting positive pictures and well-wishing messages is in poor taste or fishing for updates. Pamela has expressed numerous times that she appreciates the messages and photos and that they are helping her to get through an extraordinarily difficult time. The messages are there for her and/or her family to read whether or not she or they choose to reply or update anyone.

sunglassesonthetable · 11/07/2023 14:22

@Skinnermarink

Are people 'fishing' or sending good vibes and good wishes? Please don't be negative.

Tbh I don't think you know better than OP who expressed her enjoyment and pleasure from it. Please don't spoil the positive nature of this thread.

sunglassesonthetable · 11/07/2023 14:23

Don't expect updates tbh .

Well said Lucy & beautifully put. I agree with every word & think these words & photos of support matter to Pamela, in all manner of ways, even if she can't read them now.

lucylulululu · 11/07/2023 14:35

@EarringsandLipstick Thank you and you're right, and even if she can't read them now there may be a point at which she can and wants to.

There also may be people on this thread going through something similar and they may find comfort and hope from some of these posts and photos too, so I think that is also a good reason for people to carry on spreading the positivity however they can ❤️💐

Bad taste to post this

That's exactly right Lucy.

The beautiful photos & kindness here have been really soothing to me in a difficult week (nothing like what Pamela and others are experiencing).

lucylulululu · 11/07/2023 14:40

@Bossyboo I think @sunglassesonthetable meant that they don't expect updates, if you read their previous comment you can see they are writing in support of Pamela xx

EarringsandLipstick · 11/07/2023 14:41

@Bossyboo

I think @sunglassesonthetable meant she wasn't looking for updates, that she just wanted to post regardless, to support Pamela.

EarringsandLipstick · 11/07/2023 14:41

@lucylulululu crossposted!

Yes totally. thank you xxx I meant posting was not conditional on updates.

Badly phrased. Apologies.

WilsonMilson · 11/07/2023 14:42

Hi everyone, don’t want to worry anyone by lack of update. The last couple of days have been a haze and a blur of ups and downs. I’m just going for my Portacath insertion, so I will post more then I’m back - there’s good news and some bad news but still making progress for treatment to begin tomorrow.
More in a bit, and thank you for all your posts- there are certain names I see wishing me well almost every day and it does register with me and I remember you, but apologies if I can thank you individually right now as it’s just too much. Safe to say it’s very much noticed and appreciated. One thing I have to say is - Teddy the dog, he’s just like a fluffy cloud of cuteness. You all make me smile, the landscapes, the churches, the prayers, the candles, for flowers in your garden. You’re a fantastic bunch of people with the kindest hearts. You help me. ❤️
