Dear Pamela
I keep thinking of you and sending you support. Well done for leaving the hospital, I’m sure it was hard but seeing the sun is always good for the soul.

Unfortunately I have experience of wheelchairs. The one you are in on your outing looks a jarring ride. Top tips from a reluctant wheelchair user - if you can, choose a chair as narrow as your bottom (ie narrow) as the wider the chair the less comfortable the ride. Purchase from Amazon (job for your lovely husband) a booster cushion for the elderly. I don’t know how to link but look on Amazon at the Homescapes Cream Armchair Booster Cushion for the idea. I cannot tell how much relief this type of cushion can provide when in a standard wheelchair. I know you don’t want to use a wheelchair and so purchasing this may feel like defeat but they are only about £20 and it will give you such comfort (and the ability to leave your hospital).

xx

Sending love and strength. Hope you are having a better day today 💐

Kiwiandstrawberries · 10/07/2023 11:38

Hi Pamela. I hope you had a better night last night. You look amazing and am glad you got outside yesterday. Think your flip flops are probably the same as mine . Have the same colour and literally live in them .
Hope today is improving and pain relief now kicking in . The slow relief morphine should be now working it’s magic.Xx

daisychain42 · 10/07/2023 11:50

You are so brave to not despair and get yourself back out there after horrendous pain. Gracious too, to not slate your medical staff. Each step is a step forward, pain when it comes is awful but remember that it will pass. I hope your mum and son will bring you joy today.

spiderlight · 10/07/2023 11:59

Mouselemur · 10/07/2023 12:01

Lovely photo, so pleased you managed to get out for some fresh air. I hope your pain isn’t too bad today and you are able to eat a little.
You really are doing incredibly well, and are a true inspiration. We’re all rooting for you xx

Homebird62 · 10/07/2023 12:09

What a lovely picture and you have such a beautiful smile despite all of the pain. Hope they are able to get your pain better controlled but I’m sure seeing Jacob and your Mum will boost you up a bit. You are an inspiration xx

Good afternoon Pamela, I hope you had a much more restful sleep, I was keeping my fingers crossed that the slow release morphine would help and enable better rest for you.

I hope you've also been able to see Jacob and your mum too, and if not then hopefully soon 🤞
Their presence will help you keep your focus I'm sure ❤️

Sending you love and hoping for even more positive news in the next update especially r.e the progress of the drains and your pain levels hopefully lowering 🙏 have a little journey out again if you're able, fresh air does so much good when you're stuck in one room for a long time. Thinking of you all
