Woken by a strange siren, then had repeated extreme alerts on our phones which scared the heck out of us. the first reports were that it was an earthquake 🤦‍♀️. We’re in Netanya with my savta for Shabbat, so we’ve been frantically gathering extra supplies all morning and emergency prepping (all my emergency prep stuff is at home and she only has enough for her). Cooked food for Shabbat and now waiting on this drone wave . We’re not supposed to go out except for essentials.
the two youngest kids are nervous, had to mute my phone, because notifications are making them jump.

Thank you. We also were woken up throughout the night with weird sirens and a lot of aircraft noise. Dog waited by the door as he usually does when a siren sounds ready to go into the shelter. Things are much calmer this afternoon but we are waiting for the next wave of drones or ballistic missiles and who knows when that will be or how bad it will get. The roads are very quiet although the supermarket was completely mobbed this morning but people are not panic buying. Wishing everybody a Shabbat shalom and for a quiet time for all my friends and neighbours xx

I am somewhat in awe of the sophistication and daring of the attack. The Mossad smuggled drones and small missiles into Iran and used them to attack many of the targets from close range.

The big question now is whether Iran will attack US forces in the region in response. I think it's unlikely, but you never know.

Since I'm the unofficial military commentator for this thread, I thought I'd pass along this interesting bit of news. It likely indicates that the US is going to become more actively involved in the war with Iran or at least wants to have more options to do so. This will also put pressure on the Iranians.

I hope that we're going to destroy the uranium enrichment sites at Fordow and Natanz, that the IAF isn't equipped to attack successfully. Still, other possible courses of action are discussed in the article I linked.

No matter the explanation, I think this is very good news for Israel and bad news for Iran.

I have abandoned almost all pretence of being productive today and basically on mumsnet, x, WhatsApp, and vaguely doing house stuff/entertaining kids. Too tired to do much more than that. They’re all so exhausted they’ve actually just been mostly getting on with things quietly, and had zoom check ins with their schools (Covid era not remembered fondly). There’s a feeling also of waiting around for the attacks to start up again.

Fordow is the key target remaining. What Trump should be telling the Iranians is that they can either dismantle it or the US will do it for them.

There's likely a connection between Iran seeking an end to hostilities and the USAF sending tankers to the region, which is a fine way of signaling that the U.S. is about to get involved.

While Trump certainly has his failings and missteps, he's been a good friend to the Jewish people.
