Lighting an extra candle each night for the hostages, hoping they will all soon be home in good health

I was hoping for a Chanuka miracle 😔 I’m still lighting an extra Shabbat candle every week for the hostages.

I’ve basically left the CITME board apart from the hostage thread. Is anyone left on there?

The Houthis keep sending ballistics in the middle of the night, and we have been woken again and again since Christmas by sirens in the middle of the night to run to the shelter. I’m very very grateful to have a shelter in my apartment, but it’s still exhausting, and obviously affects the kids. Need to get up and clean and cook Shabbat but no energy.

I was also hoping for that miracle, they were so specific about groups and I was so happy that they specifically mentioned children 🧡🧡. It seems to have just faded away and stopped being discussed again 😭

My DD is running down 4 winding floors of staircases to the basement shelter with a small child every time the Houthis attack in the small hours. Of course there are only 90 seconds to wake up, wake DGC up and get down there. Not fun. Unsurprising that so many people are being injured running to shelters at night.😢

I started lighting Shabbat /chag candles again last year, and each time an extra 2 candles specifically for Kfir and Ariel Bibas. And the extra candle each night of Chanukah for the hostages.

I've given up visiting the CITME board. It was soul destroying, aggravating and frustrating. So much wilful ignorance (kind interpretation) or hate (most likely interpretation).

When a siren goes off now my dog heads straight for the door as he knows we have to go to the shelter! We live a very strange ‘normal’ life

I'm still following as well. It's fabulous that there's a path forward to freeing the hostages, and the IDF needs time to rest, retrain, and rearm.

Hi all, been stuck to my TV screen watching the emotional scenes of Emily, Romy and Doron being reunited with their mothers after being freed from captivity in Gaza. Strange that the Red Cross were able to act as an uber service but had been unable to visit any of the hostages

That was my observation too @gingergran. And did you know that Al Jazeera got an exclusive? Their cameraman and reporter were practically standing at the car door in Gaza.

They did nothing more than act as an uber service either. No protection, no arm around them, no kind words. They looked uninterested and indifferent.

The whole thing was awful when they had to transfer between the two cars. Thank goodness they are safe now.

I’ve read the next four will be released on Saturday and it will include female IDF soldiers. I’m not sure whether that’s true though. How much longer can they keep the two babies 💔
