I cried on and off all day yesterday, and again this morning. I am going to try watch hersch’s levaya,m later as well. I think we have to channel Rachel Goldberg Polin’s spirit.We have to stay strong. Survive. And love each other.

I made a super Israeli breakfast, and invited my little sister to join me . Salat katzutz, ottolenghi’s shakshuka, and bread. We have to LIVE.

Hanan was singing עטלף עיוור, and the community were singing Carlebach's tune for לְמַעַן אַחַי וְרֵעָי

The top of the funeral announcement says:

I listened to the most recent Unholy podcast today and found Rachel Goldberg Polin's interview- now quite old, relatively speaking as I think her son had been a hostage for a couple of months then - and the hope in her voice almost unbearable to hear in view of what we now know. I too have a boy who loves football and maps and travel. It sounds so trite to say but I can't imagine what they must be going through. I almost wish I had some.faith to fall back on. It's just so unbearably sad.

DH is back from the levaya. He said it was very very moving to hear them speak.

Where did you live in Jerusalem? I spent 9 months there, years ago. First in Har Nof, then on the edge of Rechavia (not a fancy place!).
