December 2025 FET

Is anyone going to have a FET in December?

I was expecting to have one in January but when I went to the clinic yesterday they are going to try and squeeze a natural FET cycle in before the Christmas break!

I am 36, had my first egg collection last month but wasn't suitable for a fresh transfer. If my cycle plays ball my transfer will be 15th-17th December.

Hopeful for a lovely Christmas present but also being realistic given age and first transfer etc.

@BellaTink647 yay! Good luck with the progesterone! So is your transfer end of next week now?

thank you! Been awake hours! Will be heading off soon! 🤞🤞

Peonies94 · 29/11/2025 09:44

All done went well as it could! Now to wait 🤞🤞

BellaTink647 · 29/11/2025 12:40

Glad it all went OK @peonies94 :) must be a very strange feeling now!

Yep, 4th December transfer for me so not too far behind!

RavenWillow · 29/11/2025 13:23

Pleased it all went well @Peonies94

CoolSummer89 · 29/11/2025 13:38

So glad it went well @Peonies94!

I’m just on a mini break at the mo, been drinking a few beers as we’re in quite a beer heavy country.

My period just started bang on cue, so looks transfer will be before Christmas. Ovulation pending, eek!

@BellaTink647 not too long to go for you! Have you started progesterone yet?

ivf got some mild cramping but I’ came home watched some tv and now trying to soort the house before going for a little walk before a meal this evening!

BellaTink647 · 29/11/2025 15:52

@peonies94 yep started progesterone pessaries this morning.

@CoolSummer89 good news! Enjoy the beer while you can I say!

Peonies94 · 30/11/2025 07:15

@BellaTink647 bot long for you now! Have you done previous transfers to this?
this is our second one!

zirafica · 30/11/2025 08:59

Sorry had a bit of a manic weekend but YAY @Peonies94 I’m glad it went well, rooting for you so hard!

@BellaTink647 omg yours is coming up soon too! I’m on day 4 of pessaries and finding them to be no bother, except that I’ve realised I’m one of the small percentage of people that they knock out completely (progesterone is apparently a natural sedative) so about 20mins post application I am literally unable to do anything for about half an hour. My eyes start closing and I have to lie down… it’s happening as we speak! How are you finding them!

I can’t believe we’re two days away from our transfer, feels like the wait has been so long but now it’s so soon? I’ve been reading so much about everything that can go wrong (latest obsession: low hcg levels) and I’m now almost 70% certain there’s no chance the stars will align for this to work… I keep doing calculations on the chances of it working and it’s all like yay this should be ok and then someone posts their euploid of a good grade didn’t stick and it hits so hard!

oh @RavenWillow so glad to hear your EC and transfer got postponed and you get the full 5 days, one worry off your mind there!

RavenWillow · 30/11/2025 18:20

Not long at all for you now @zirafica.
Yes such a relief for everything being put back slightly. Will be going to mh scan tomorrow and hope everything is good for trigger then collection on wednesday.
How are you doing @Sequins04 isn't it your collection tomorrow?

whysohardtogetusername · 30/11/2025 18:29

@zirafica I didn't realise that about the pessaries and i've been knackered - now I know why! I took them just before a music concert and I was falling asleep during it 😅

@Sequins04 Sorry for a bit slow reply but PGT-A testing was a good experience for us, if pricey. It did add delay to the process which sucks. I went back and forth because of a) potential damage to embryos and b) low risk of wrong results and discarding an embryo that might have worked. But to be honest I'm the sort of person who overthinks and gets anxious so knowing they had been PGT-A tested was something else I could rule out. We were lucky in that we had a lot of embryos (12 over 2 rounds, ended up with 5 euploids). Our goal is two children so we wanted 2-3 euploids per child and didn't want to come back at 40/41 to do IVF again, because honestly I don't know if I could as I really didn't enjoy it and what it did to my body. But who knows in this game, nothing is guaranteed so I'd be over the moon with just the one at this point 🙏!

whysohardtogetusername · 30/11/2025 18:31

@BellaTink647 I'm also a 4th Dec transfer - feels so soon but also that I've waited so long! @Peonies94 so glad it went well 💗, fingers crossed for you!!

CoolSummer89 · 30/11/2025 18:41

Back from the mini break and caught up with the thread properly. A big week/month for us!
Best of luck for retrievals @Sequins04 & @RavenWillow . Coconut water and loads of engaging things to distract you from waiting for the embryo calls!
And best of luck with transfers @zirafica @whysohardtogetusername & @BellaTink647

Thanks ladies - yes egg collection is tomorrow morning for me. Feeling rather nervous but so glad to have had a day with no injections today.

It sounds like there are quite a few transfers this week - how exciting!

😂That's so interesting about the progesterone naps @zirafica. I wouldn't have made the connection either.

So glad to hear you're feeling well after your transfer @Peonies94.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @RavenWillow, I hope they've grown loads over the weekend!

That's really interesting about the PGTA @whysohardtogetusername. If we end up with any other embryos after our fresh transfer, we're considering doing it too.

@CoolSummer89 your mini break sounded fab and a great distraction. What's the coconut water for?

CoolSummer89 · 30/11/2025 21:09

@Sequins04 i just found it great for post retrieval bloat, it is natural electrolytes apparently. I really didn’t suffer much post-egg retrieval and I was on the higher side.
also my husband got my a heated animal which I had permanently on my stomach.

Hope all goes well!

@CoolSummer89 Is it a lot of bloating and cramping post retrieval to expect?
@Sequins04 I hope they have grown loads as so bloated now!
Good luck with your transfers @zirafica @BellaTink647 @whysohardtogetusername :)

CoolSummer89 · 30/11/2025 21:25

@RavenWillow yes it can be for a couple of days, or so I have heard. Also people can be prone to constipation. I really didn’t find it too bad but I made sure that I drank loads, especially electrolytes and coconut water.

Just catching up after the weekend too. Good luck to everyone having their transfers/egg collections. Hope they all go well, please update us ❤️

I’ve been slightly less active on here because the 2 weeks of oestrogen patches is LONG isn’t it, ha!? I feel like this is the longest bit and once I’ve had my scan and can start pessaries I’ll feel like something new is happening 🤣 question - which “way” did everyone put the pessaries in? I’ve heard mixed opinions! Interesting about the naps though.. I’m hoping to start them on Thursday and have an overnight Christmas works do that day, so that will be interesting considering I’ll be sober too!

Hello everyone.

We've been trying naturally for over three years with no luck - have almost started IVF a few times, but the clinic found various bits that needed sorting first. Finally here and have been feeling very overwhelmed this week.

Nice to see you here @RavenWillow , how are you getting along?

@Poppy9991 it sounds like you, @RavenWillow and I are all very close together - I'm on day 7 of stims today.

@Blueskycat are you having a natural or medicated FET?

@CoolSummer89 I have my first scan tomorrow morning. I'm feeling pretty bloated so am hoping some have grown! Keeping everything crossed for you that they manage to squeeze the transfer in before Christmas.

@Firsttime2023 the delay must be frustrating, although it is nice you'll get to enjoy Christmas and New Year. I had a great alcohol free prosecco from Sainsburys the other day if anyone fancies one.

@whysohardtogetusername that's interesting you PGTA tested - how did you find it? We asked about it but the doc suggested trying a round first and seeing how it went.

Hiya, we also PGT-A tested and I'd highly recommend it to anyone struggling with getting pregnant/keeping a pregnancy. We were told to do it as I'm 39 and I'm so glad we did cause we got 14 good grade blastos however we tested 7 and only got 1 euploid. And it wasn't the best grade one either! So we could've been trying 6 times before we got to one good one. Honestly, a total no brainer and so worth the money for us!
Now, whether that euploid will stick tomorrow remains to be seen, but at least I know we're giving ourselves the best possible shot!

zirafica · 01/12/2025 17:33

@AnonTTC so I've been on pessaries for 5 days now and the tiredness has definitely calmed down, but the first 3 days I was a goner! I'm not sure how I would've been able to power through any social event tbh but it's not everyone who feels this way so hopefully you'll be ok. I put them in the front as I feel like that's where they should go, although the nurse said there's absolutely no difference and it's whatever you're more comfortable with!
@RavenWillow thanks so much! I can confirm I was very bloated after the EC and actually felt a lot worse after it than during stims. Just felt huge and sore and swollen and really didn't enjoy it. Took a full week until I woke up and said "I think I feel normal again".
@whysohardtogetusername hello fellow pessary exhausted sister! hope yours has calmed down a bit too in the last few days!

CoolSummer89 · 01/12/2025 19:26

Best of luck tomorrow @zirafica I will be thinking of you. I won’t be able to get on here until late tomorrow, but looking forward to hear how it goes

BellaTink647 · 01/12/2025 19:48

@zirafica and @AnonTTC I'm on day 3 if pessaries. So far I haven't felt any tiredness, but I have felt very emotional today!

@AnonTTC I've found these patches the worst bit of all so far... they seem to weld to my skin so taking them off to change them has been soooo painful and takes me ages, rubbing with oil etc. Re the pessaries.... I'm on 3 a day and my clinic advised to mix it up between front and back because apparently that helps with absorption, so I'm doing front, back, front each day if you will 😆 What a delight 😂

zirafica · 01/12/2025 21:28

Thank you @CoolSummer89 !! I suppose we just need it to happen and nothing to go wrong with the thaw and then… WE WAIT
@BellaTink647 oh girl completely understandable (and also a side effect), apparently it’s slightly less than if you take them orally but being emotional is totally the progesterone’s fault. I on the other hand feel like I am PMS-ing and am getting annoyed by the way my fiancé is breathing at the moment so that’s nice 😂😂

RavenWillow · 01/12/2025 21:40

Good luck tomorrow @zirafica
Thank you @AnonTTC
So I had my scan today and my follicles went a little wild over the weekend, now very large and have more than Friday's scan. Now at a high risk of OHSS so I've just had my trigger shot but was reduced to 5000iu in stead of the 10000iu. Scheduled for collection on wednesday then will see whether I can have a fresh transfer or not due to the risk of OHSS. Any tips greatly appreciated, currently feeling really bloated!

whysohardtogetusername · 01/12/2025 22:12

@RavenWillow highly recommend lots of coconut water or you can buy electrolytes that you put in water. Also buscopan pre-transfer, laxatives and a heating pad/hot water bottle. I was really bloated and uncomfortable after egg retrieval my second round - looking back I actually put on 5 kilos over the round, think it was mostly bloat/water weight. Not fun but it did pass. Think I only had one really bad day, day 3, and after that it got slowly better over the next week or two. Did take a while to feel really normal again though.

@zirafica keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
