Hi - thought I’d start a new thread for anyone who will start an IVF/ICSI cycle in September for an egg collection in October.

Long protocol here - starting prep month in September, stims in October, with egg collection around 21 October.

Can i join. Not doing a full stim cycle but im hoping October will finally be my month to do a FET. Hubby and I started trying for another baby in November last year. We did a fet with our then last embryo from our 2021 cycle but unfortunely eneded up as a chemical pregnancy and have had no luck since. We have since done 2 more full stim cycles and 1 other fresh transfer. We have one day 6 embryo on ice but we keep having our cycles cancelled for various reasons. So fingers xd this time.

Hi I’m due to start stims hopefully Monday 🤞 egg collection 6th October predicted just looking for people to chat with in the same boat as me and on similar time nervous and a lot of anxiety around it all 🥺

Hello! Thank you @frenchgal for starting this thread. My times sound v similar to yours.
After almost 2 years TTC I will be starting my first IVF cycle soon. I'm 36 with unexplained infertility.
Got all my meds, will start on Provera first and then when I have withdrawal bleed from that will start stims. Currently thinking my egg collection will be between 17-22nd October, but obvs don't know for sure.

Nurse has managed my expectations that 1st cycle can be a bit 'diagnostic' and to see how I respond to my meds. So I am trying to view it through that lens, that by the end of the cycle I should know more about me and my body. And not necessarily that I will end up pregnant. (Although I am sure the TWW will be absolute torture).

Wishing everyone loads of luck.

Hi everyone, hope it’s okay to jump on this thread. I’m in my down regulation currently and hoping to start my stims on Tuesday if all goes to plan. This is our first cycle after three years TTC but because of where we live we are only eligible for one round on the NHS so trying my hardest to manifest some good luck.
Wishing you all the best of luck and so pleased I’ve found this thread.

hiya, how are you finding the down regulating? I don’t have it this time, but I imagine I might if I do a second round.

I’m so sorry about the 1 round. The postcode lottery really sucks. Do you have any diagnosis for your infertility?

IVFhoping · 20/09/2025 17:59

@CoolSummer89I very much led myself to a false sense of security, the first week I felt absolutely fine but the past couple of days have been a bit of a rollercoaster. I even ended up crying at work yesterday which I found really hard to navigate as I have chosen to only tell my main manager and so not everyone is aware of the additional hormones in me!

I have a low egg count but we also have male factor infertility so we’re going down the ICSI route to hopefully improve chances.

How are you finding it all? I haven’t come across Provera - does that have any side effects?

frenchgal · 28/09/2025 10:15

@IVFhoping@CoolSummer89@KPMM hi all - sorry I was in NY for work for week, but just started norethisterone there - how is everybody doing ?

Hi @frenchgal how are you feeling? Is this your first round?

I started Provera two days ago. Doesn’t serve any function apart from delaying my period for clinic scheduling. Not sure how long I will be on it, but think I will find out more at my baseline scan on Tuesday

Not my first round - doing embryo batching this time. Last round (egg collection was 1 sept) I had 8 eggs collected, 2x day 3 embryo frozen (“sub optimal response” according to my consultant). Starting progynova on Thursday (hoping it’s less horrendous than buserelin). So I am hoping for more embryos this time, then will decide if I do another back to back stims for another egg collection, so we can send them all together for PGT-A.

how are you feeling ?

Hi all on norethisterone till tomorrow then scan Thursday hopefully big red is on its way..this will be my 4th and hopefully final egg collection. 3rd egg collections resulted in my little boy, 8 months ago. Not looking forward to the absolute mind fuck IVF can bring. Only going again so soon after having a baby is that I’m 37. Hopeful it can bring a sibling. We have severe MFI, with double dna fragmentation that only resulted in 1 embryo who became our little boy. Good luck all!

SummerSolstice25 · 28/09/2025 18:55

Hi everyone,
I’ll join you! I had been stimming with pergoveris 225 in June but my round was cancelled on day 8 due to poor response.
I started a new round on down regulation with synarel spray a few weeks ago, and started stims with pergoveris 250 Wednesday. I’ll know on Tuesday if I’ve had a better response. We weren’t given any advice on anything we could do differently, lifestyle, diet etc. so I already sort of feel as if this won’t be any better than last time.
Hoping for happy outcomes for all of us ✨

CoolSummer89 · 30/09/2025 12:00

Had my baseline scan this morning. 16 follicles. I know this is a good result but I had 29 at my first ever scan back in January so I’m just being greedy. This is my first time so not sure what to expect.

Starting with Gonal-F 225 next week when period starts.

Where is everyone else in the process

frenchgal · 30/09/2025 22:55

Good luck! That’s a great number - lots of follicles doesn’t mean quality and that’s what you are aiming for x

SummerSolstice25 · 01/10/2025 12:20

I had my scan today and they could see 8-10 follicles, all in sync so far anyway. Much improved on my first attempt at a round, where they could only see 2 maturing. Another scan on Friday.

CoolSummer89 · 01/10/2025 15:37

That's great @SummerSolstice25 , do you think egg collection will be next week?

SummerSolstice25 · 01/10/2025 22:28

@CoolSummer89 I’ll know by the end of the week but it looks like it’s going that way

CoolSummer89 · 06/10/2025 18:22

Hiya, how did your scans go last week @SummerSolstice25?

my period started a bit earlier than expected so I start injections tomorrow. Eek!

SummerSolstice25 · 06/10/2025 20:40

@CoolSummer89 all looked good, going for egg collection in the morning. I’m a little nervous.

Tinkerbell098 · 07/10/2025 01:28

Hi all, can I join?

I have been stimming on Menopur for 12 days now. Today was meant to be my trigger day with EC planned for Wednesday. I’ve been for a scan this morning and 4 follicles are now overgrown, and none in the 18-20 mm bracket. The rest are in the 12-14 and 15-17 brackets so they’re stimming me for another couple of days at a lower dose of menopur (187.5). I was on 300 before. I really hope the rest won’t overgrow in the next couple of days 😟 has anyone had a similar experience?

CoolSummer89 · 08/10/2025 15:08

Hi @Tinkerbell098 I am so sorry, only just seen this. This is my first time doing IVF (first injection last night) so haven't experienced this at all. I am so sorry that this has happened to you and that you were overstimulated. Hopefully this new dose supports your body to where it needs to be - keep us updated!

@SummerSolstice25 how did the egg collection go?

Lyndsey8880 · 08/10/2025 18:22

Hey all, hope you're all keeping well and looking after yourselves!
We had eggs collection on 3rd October which ended as a freeze all cycle due to high risk of OHSS..
23 eggs collected, 12 mature, 9 fertilised..
Day 3, our best quality one was frozen due to the freeze all cycle.
Day 5 update today - 0 blastocysts 😭
Absolutely devastated and not the update I was expecting/hoping for...
They're going to leave them another day but the embryologist wasn't very positive...
Hope to hear lots of success stories here from you ladies! Xxx

SummerSolstice25 · 08/10/2025 20:10

@CoolSummer89 9 eggs, 9 mature, 8 fertilised. I’m happy but I do know how quickly things can change and drop so I don’t want to get ahead of myself, just taking it day by day at the minute.
@Lyndsey8880 Im very sorry to hear that. 23 eggs was a great number to begin with, I’m sure you were quite hopeful of getting a few blasts from that which no doubt added to your disappointment 😔

Lyndsey8880 · 09/10/2025 08:35

@SummerSolstice25 Thank you. Yes it was a complete shock and spent the day crying! Have been reading some positive success stories about day 3 FET's though (which is what we have in the freezer) so feeling a little brighter today!
Waiting on my day 6 update although I'm not expecting anything to have changed.
Congrats on your 8 fertilised!! When do you next get an update?? Keeping my fingers crossed you have lots of healthy blasts!! Xx

SummerSolstice25 · 09/10/2025 10:19

@Lyndsey8880 I can only imagine, it’s such a rollercoaster. I will be updated again tomorrow morning. Praying our little guys are doing well 🙏
