Hi - thought I’d start a new thread for anyone who will start an IVF/ICSI cycle in September for an egg collection in October.

Long protocol here - starting prep month in September, stims in October, with egg collection around 21 October.

Wow, that is such great news. Fingers crossed for a good call tomorrow!

Clinic said 6 were mature and all of these are showing signs of fertilisation! I’m all nerves at the moment.

Oh that’s so great! 100% is good and really rare so well done :)

I know what you mean about nerves. I was so happy with my fertilisation results and I find about my day 5 numbers tomorrow and I’m a wreck 😩 Just want to focus on what I do know and not what I don’t know yet.

Will you be doing a fresh transfer?

I’m aiming for a fresh transfer and so far the blood work was good.

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow!

Just had a call from the hospital and there are six embryos suitable for freezing on day 5. My husband and I are over the moon going to enjoy the rest of 2025 taking a break from TTC ready for a transfer in the new year.
Best of luck for everyone waiting for their own egg collection and results.

IndigoBluey · 27/10/2025 10:29

@CoolSummer89thats brilliant news, nice to have the rest of the year to take a break too!

2ndtimethecharm · 27/10/2025 12:42

Congratulations @CoolSummer89! Absolutely great news.

Mood swings hitting today and I want to bite everyone’s head off. Don’t know if it’s the hormones or the nerves but I am not pleasant to be around.

2ndtimethecharm · 27/10/2025 14:22

Quick question if anyone willing to share- will you PGT test and how did you decide?

CoolSummer89 · 27/10/2025 16:23

Hi @2ndtimethecharm I don't have the option of PGT-A testing as it's an NHS round. If I was private and had the money, I might do it. In the US they recommend for women over 35 but in the UK I think doctors say over 40.

IndigoBluey · 27/10/2025 17:21

Unfortunately that’s me out for October. There hasn’t been any change in follicle growth since my last scan so cycle has been cancelled. Feeling rather flat today but looking at it as a test run. Have a call with consultant next week and will go from there, with suggestion of increased dosage. It was strange as I never had any symptoms apart from very little bloating so just seemed it hasn’t made much impact. Wondered if anyone has gone through the same and made any changes in the run up to their subsequent cycle? And also if it’s normal to do another cycle right away or perhaps take break for a month?

CoolSummer89 · 27/10/2025 17:44

I'm sorry @IndigoBluey that's disappointing. Is this your first cycle and is it NHS funded? If so, the first one can be a bit of a trial and your consultants will have so much more knowledge for next time. Not sure about whether it's possible to do back-to-back I'm afraid, think it depends on how you body bounces back and what the clinics availability is like.

IndigoBluey · 27/10/2025 18:33

@CoolSummer89thank you. It is indeed my first cycle, it was a short antagonist cycle (freeze all) stims for 13 days. advised to take the burserlin trigger this evening to release the premature egg and it will be interesting to see when my next period will arrive…. I’ll have a chat with the consultant next week and see what my options are. I’m private not NHS. Had originally intended to do IUI but consultant advice was IVF due to success factors. I understand I’ll get a partial refund since won’t be doing surgery onward which I hadn’t really remembered so could probably fund another IVF cycle
or two and then call it a day. It is with donor sperm so perhaps IUI as a last resort! Are you excited for your next stage?

Liesontoast · 28/10/2025 18:39

I PGT tested on the round for my little boy as it was recommended to me by our clinic. It’s obviously not a guarantee but it does increase your chance of a live birth by 60% chance and it gives 70% chance of a pregnancy. These are the percentages given by my clinic not sure if they are factual for everyone. I really liked these odds. I’ve just opted to test our 3 embryos from my own recent round. Awaiting results now. I’m 37 for context.

2ndtimethecharm · 29/10/2025 15:53

@Liesontoast @CoolSummer89 Thank you! I’ve decided not to test for now as I might only have 2 embryos and I think I’d rather do a fresh transfer now. I might test if anything left over to freeze.

ApplePie279 · 29/10/2025 19:41

Hi @IndigoBluey , I recently went through the exact same thing. September cycle got cancelled because follicles were not responding, but started another cycle as soon as my period came and ended up with two blasts. I have low AMH, so I was originally on 450 Gonal F, but they reduced it to 300 for the next cycle and my body seemed to much prefer that. Good luck x

2ndtimethecharm · 30/10/2025 15:32

Hi Ladies- great news today- 4 blasts, 3 were 4AA, one 3BB. Had a fresh transfer and will freeze and test the rest. They are also watching 3 more in case we get one more on day 6. Let the waiting begin!

Waitingforday6 · 30/10/2025 15:49

Yaaaay @2ndtimethecharm!!!!

Incredible news! That’s amazing. Best of luck for TWW and I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for the ones still hatching 🐣

Anyone else waiting still? 🫠

I think you might be our one remainder on this thread! How is the TWW going?

2ndtimethecharm · 03/11/2025 15:24

@CoolSummer89 Physically I feel great- just very impatient!

IndigoBluey · 03/11/2025 15:25

@ApplePie279thank you, gives me a bit of hope. I had a few days trying to enjoy myself and I am going to go with suggested approach which is same protocol but with higher dose. Can I ask did you do anything else different for your subsequent cycle, eating / supplements? I was also doing quite a high level of exercise which I thought was OK but Google tells me differently … so might take it a bit easier and stick to walking.

ApplePie279 · 05/11/2025 15:23

@IndigoBluey - No... I actually did the opposite. I felt pretty low after they cancelled the cycle, so I stopped watching what I was eating / drinking. I did read the same thing about exercise - defo keep it light during stims and drink lots of warm fluids. x
