IVF/ICSI/ egg collection October

Hi - thought I’d start a new thread for anyone who will start an IVF/ICSI cycle in September for an egg collection in October.

Long protocol here - starting prep month in September, stims in October, with egg collection around 21 October.

I am booked in for EC tomorrow morning. Can’t help but feel negative about it all as I don’t have many follicles this time around, too many have overgrown :( hoping for the best tomorrow.

I am so sorry @Lyndsey8880 & @Tinkerbell098 it’s hard in this process when you feel so out of control. You’re not out of the game yet, I know it’s hard not to feel disappointed or out of hope but I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you

Unfortunately my day 6 update stayed the same...none made it. Now just trying to remain hopeful for our one day 3 frozen emby when we get to transfer!

Yes you're right, it does seem to be a rollercoaster with no rhyme or reason for when it works or doesn't. I guess that's just life, but at the same time it's hard not to feel disappointed.
Are they going to offer a follow-up at all? Or is it just wait for after the FET and then review?

How is everyone doing? I am 6 days in to stimulation and have added my antagonist injections. Feeling very normal apart from some fertile CM. First scan tomorrow so will see how I am responding.

Is it ok if I join!

Im on day 11 of stims. Had a scan today and don’t think the follicles are growing quite as quickly as hoped (although the nurses don’t give much away!). They did up my doses on Friday so hopefully that’s kicking in.

Hi @AnotherLiv I am a few days behind you. Is this your first cycle?

yes I just had a scan, I am on day 7 of stims. I had one follicle at 20mm, two at 10mm and the rest are all smaller. So currently seems to be uneven. But yea I am in a similar boat the nurses are not giving too much away! I have 15 follicles in total, which I think is an OK number but again so hard to tell.

Yes it’s my first cycle - so it’s all new to me! Also so hard to tell if it’s going ok or not!

I’m in a similar situation - I didn’t write down the exact numbers but had one follicle at ~18mm, another 5 or so at 10-12mm. And then maybe another 10 that haven’t done anything yet.

Waiting for a call back once they have my blood test results to see if they want me to alter my dose again, and have another scan on Wednesday.

Oh great, so we're very similar. This is also my first cycle. Just had a call from hospital this afternoon to say that they are upping my dose, so will see what happens on next scan on Wednesday.

Have they suggested when egg collection might be for you?

Yes so similar - hopefully that’s a good sign 🤞 I’ve been told to stick on my current dose for now.

They said maybe Friday or next Monday. Have you been told anything?

Hi all had my egg collection today my 4th. Really unexpectedly they got 33 eggs, 27/28 are mature and have been injected with ICSI, so this see how many fertilises. Previous egg collections we got 19,8 and 16. So this feels extremely surreal. I don’t expect good nos tomorrow or day 5 results as we have severe MFI.

hi Ladies can I join too please? I am on day 5 of stims on my fourth cycle but am spiralling as i have been so so stressed for the down regulation, and also for the last two days of stims my husband and i have had a massive row, so just been crying and anxious.

really hoping i havent messed this up

i am 42 and have DOR so chances are limited as it is

@CoolSummer89 thank you! Got fertilisation report 17 fertilised 2 abnormal so 19 all together. With double dna fragmentation this is expected still the drop off always feels so harsh. Especially when we was left with one embryo (who did become our little boy) last time out of 13 fertilised . So only needing 1 is what we’d need but more would be appreciated.

I’m sorry to read this. It is a very anxious time so it is to be expected that tensions can run high at home. TTC is hard enough as it is but with IVF there is a lot more pressure, feeling like everything has to be perfect for the next couple of weeks otherwise it won’t work etc.

Try and give both you and your husband some grace. If things are feeling a bit calmer maybe try and clear the air and explain how you are feeling and what in particular is upsetting you. Sometimes it’s the uncertainty and the not having our needs met that can cause things to blow up. Obviously I don’t know the details of your fight but really hope you can find a place where you can both support each other at this time.

Thanks, yes went for scan this morning. I have about 10 follicles measuring between 10-14mm and then 1 follicle which is already at 25mm which assumes means I will lose that one as I am stimming for at least another couple of days. I have another scan on Friday which I guess will be my last one before egg collection, but equally this IS my first rodeo so have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️
have you had another scan?

I’m 3dp5dt now and feeling pretty flat. I don’t have any symptoms at all, just wishing the days away to get a result yet I’m afraid to get the result at the sand time.

@SummerSolstice25 don't lose hope lovely, its still so early for symptoms and I’ve heard lots of stories about ladies who had the fewest symptoms on successful cycles, fingers crossed for you xx

I had my transfer yesterday. They transferred two as they were low quality blasts. Trying to stay hopeful 🤞
