Hi! I’m starting the process of a FET in September, transferring a 4AB early October. Trying for baby number two. Anyone else? Would be great to have people to talk to amongst the symptom spotting, line eyes and general freak outs ☺️

Feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning. Had a bit of a scare last couple of days as some bleeding. Thought it was start of miscarriage but hospital did a scan and pregnancy is ok but there is a complication as scan found a subchorionic haematoma which explains the bleed. I just feel a bit floored. There's a good chance it'll be ok but there's also a higher chance it won't be. Just all feels very heavy physically and emotionally. Just putting this out there so I feel less alone with it. Hope you're all ok. It's so hard this process.

Oh gosh a haematoma is very scary especially when they are actively bleeding. The best case scenario is it will resolve on its own and reabsorb back into the body. Alot of times they dont harm the pregnancy and will resolve on its own. Fingers xd at your next scan its smaller or completely gone. Resting is your best friend at this time.

Waitingforday6 · 01/11/2025 09:00

@Sara237 I'm sorry to hear you had a scare! They seem to be anecdotally quite common with IVF pregnancies and often it's all absolutely fine, in fact I've heard so many stories of them where everything was fine I didn't actually know they could be harmful other than scaring you with the blood. Did anyone say it's a higher chance to be harmful than not or is that (understandably) what your brain is saying? High risk as a term in pregnancy often means just a small increase in risk, not that it's more likely than not, so I'm hoping it will all resolve itself or settle down quickly!! ❤️

ClaireBear101 · 01/11/2025 10:08

@sara237 I'm sorry to hear this and sending all the positive vibes that it will sort itself out. IVF is so rough from start to literal giving birth. Sending all the love! Try stay positive! X

I still have a line today though still faint but I assume thats normal for 6dp5dt.

Last time I didnt have my positive till 10dp3dt and that ended in MC so staying positive about early line.

Miraclemuma03 · 31/10/2025 23:42

@SarahAndQuack how are you going?

I'm ok, thanks ... I just want this scan to happen already! It's this coming Monday (I think I said 'Monday week' earlier in the thread and that's a regionalism ... I mean 'a week from the next Monday' but I think you read it as 'Monday this week'!). I just hate the waiting around. OTOH, the pregnancy dates calculator someone linked to on this forum reckons I am 7 weeks today (my clinic say I'm not until Monday, but who knows). That is further than I've got except twice before, so if nothing else, that is a good thing.

SarahAndQuack · 01/11/2025 10:38

Thinking of you very much, @Sara237. You are absolutely not alone with this - we're here. Hope you have a lovely gentle weekend.

Sara237 · 01/11/2025 13:12

Thanks all. It means a lot to read your messages of support. It really does help!
@Waitingforday6 At the hospital the doctor said sometimes the hematoma comes away and takes the pregnancy with it. Then I googled and read that if they are picked up before 7 weeks there's a 20% chance of early miscarriage and 5 times higher risk of other complications like placenta abruption and miscarriage. It's just made me feel quite sick, angry and sad all at once...I'm literally focusing on one day at a time currently. I feel permanently sick and have concluded that this first trimester is rough! Good learning point though for those who like me weren't aware - bleeding in first trimester is usually benign. I didn't have any with my son so didn't know this.
@Miraclemuma03 how are you feeling? Have the cramps settled?
@ClaireBear101 That's so exciting you've got positives so early. I also had faint line at day 6. Bet you're burning through those tests! I used Sainsbury budget tests and they showed positive too though took a few mins.
@SarahAndQuack So not long at all for scan now then. This Monday ...as in the day after tomorrow right?! Think I've finally got the date right at last!

SarahAndQuack · 01/11/2025 13:46

Yes, day after tomorrow!

I think one day at a time is the only way. I hope that sickness is a really good sign!

Miraclemuma03 · 01/11/2025 22:55

@SarahAndQuack I wasnt sure when your scan was but monday is so close now and im sending all the baby dust that your scan is perfect and there is nothing to worry about.

@Sara237 cramps have stopped. Thanks for asking, just the normal cramps now. I did however last night (saturday night) have to go jump in the shower and have hot water run over my body to get feeling back in my left thumb, it went numb and tingly but I read this can also be a progesterone side effects so who would have known. Bloating/swelling/fluid retention from progesterone can cause hands and feet or parts of them to go numb and or tingle. Fun fact for everyone.

Miraclemuma03 · 01/11/2025 23:13

With this fet journey i have gained 2kg , im already too over weight for my own liking, currently 88kg I know its most likely the bloating from ivf meds and progesterone and plus the progesterone makes me hungry alot, do you think its safe to ignore that and go back to trying to keep my weight down? I have recently lost 6kg and was going to lose another 6kg before doing a fet but I dont have that time on my hands with my current age and the possible advancement of perimenopaus and the first 6kg was a struggle to get off. Do you think its safe to either continue to slowly get the weight off or maintaine my weight and ignore the hunger feelings. Im now 4dpt. What do you think? I weighed myself this morning and have worried myself.

Miraclemuma03 · 01/11/2025 23:18

I must add I have not always been this weight, before my last child, i was 60kg, with the array of medications I had to be on to keep the pregnancy plus had to stay on those meds for 6 months after the pregnancy I gained a shit load of weight and then went straight in to perimenopaus, thats how I got here hahaha just incase your wondering.

SarahAndQuack · 02/11/2025 10:21

Oh, @Miraclemuma03, you are having a rough time with the side effects! Hope they ease off soon. I have to say, I really hate progesterone. It's horrible.

FWIW I definitely gained weight through bloating during the 2ww and it has all come off again now - I am sure it was just water retention (I was weeing for Britain as well). Apparently it is yet another fun side effect.

To the best of my understanding there is nothing wrong with trying to lose weight during pregnancy so long as you know you're eating enough healthy food? I think if it were me I would try to eat healthily but I probably wouldn't think too much about weight loss specifically. Do your clinic have a view? Also, it might just be so miserable ignoring when you feel hungry that it isn't worth it - I'm on steroids which I am finding I cannot tolerate without a protein-heavy meal (they make me feel really ill if I haven't had enough). I think if any of your meds affect you like that it might be really unpleasant to try to tough it out.

Hope everyone else is doing well this morning?

ClaireBear101 · 02/11/2025 11:48

@miraclemuma03 be find to yourself and do what you feels best just do it in a healthy way as Sarah says. I will say some of the side effects are bull haha. Ive been exhausted, extra hungry and cramping.

I have a darker line today. I'm feeling good. I'm excited but also scared and whatnot!

SarahAndQuack · 02/11/2025 14:22

It must be so good to see that line darkening up!

I'm so bloody fidgety today. I just want the scan over and done. It's a pity - it's a lovely day; I could be doing all sorts of things and I just cannot settle. It's so silly.

Limmers14 · 02/11/2025 18:03

@SarahAndQuack only a few hours to go 😉

@ClaireBear101 that looks darker than the other day!

I’m now on 5dp5dt and still feeling tired. Been on lots of dog walks and went for a run earlier. I had a little niggle of a headache earlier and still have muscle pain in one leg. Also had a few more twinges in my stomach. Gosh we read into everything don’t we 🙈

Sara237 · 02/11/2025 19:37

@SarahAndQuack I felt the same before the scan. It's a big deal. It's so hard to settle when all this uncertainty lingers. Roll on tomorrow!
@Limmers14 Ah the endless symptom spotting! I'm impressed you went for a run. Not long till you can test now if you want to.
@ClaireBear101 Another lovely line there! Yay😊

Sara237 · 02/11/2025 19:44

@Miraclemuma03 Thinking about your weight loss thoughts...the drugs slow digestion and make everything more bloated and sluggish. Then the morning sickness can mean you need to eat more to keep the nausea at bay. Then the body is going to start putting down more fat for feeding so I definitely don't think it's the time to be in calorie deficit. I think aiming for at least some nutritious food each day is a good goal but my usual healthy diet has gone to pot as I just try to get through the day with all this sickness. Some days it's just rice cakes other days muesli and toast! I think trying to be too strict at this stage is too hard. That said, I don't want to get gestational diabetes so am trying to go a bit less sugary carbs and more nuts etc...x

SarahAndQuack · 02/11/2025 20:13

My understanding is that gestational diabetes is overwhelmingly to do with the hormonal feedback of the placenta, not diet? I know diet can help control it, but I think the actual cause is mostly just a roll of the dice.

(And thanks for the reassurance about the scan! Ugh, it's not fun.)

I am currently cooking pasta sauce with fennel sausage and black olives, because I am bloody starving. I do keep finding that the more I stick to protein and lots of water, the better, and the more I get lazy and sugar up, the worse. But that's how I usually am, so whether it's anything to do with this process I don't know!

Miraclemuma03 · 02/11/2025 20:35

Thank you ladies. Hubby tells me just roll with it hahah not very helpful but loved me at a size 6 and now loves me at a size 16 so that man doesnt seem to care hahaha I just got in a bit of a shock to see the weight piling back on and im so scared il be bigger then what I am before im even pregnant. Ahh the struggle is real.
Congratulations @ClaireBear101 that line is looking good.

SarahAndQuack · 02/11/2025 21:00

He's a keeper, your husband!

Miraclemuma03 · 03/11/2025 00:23

So I went down the woman health isle at the supermarket to pick up more panty liners and while I was there I picked up a pregnancy test and did said pregnancy test in the baby change bathroom at the shopping complex. Not sure if I should feel ashamed or not haha but here we are, I did it and to my surprise there is a faint positive. For some reason I can't upload a photo though with the quality of photos being uploaded im not sure you would be able to see much . But now im kicking myself that I did it bcos what if its the remaining of the trigger shot even though the trigger doesnt last in my system this long and the other thought is, do I test again to see if it gets darker or just wait for beta? Gosh why do we do this to ourselves. I was adamant I wasn't testing early .

Miraclemuma03 · 03/11/2025 00:26

My test. Not sure if you can actually see anything but its noticable in real life eekkk

ClaireBear101 · 03/11/2025 07:53

@miraclemuma03 I see it!! I definitely see it. You're as bad as me now haha.

I did a digital this morning that said pregnant 1-2 weeks so over the moon now!!

Let's hope all goes smoothly for us all. X

Waitingforday6 · 03/11/2025 08:02

Ahhh how exciting @Miraclemuma03! I almost let out a little cheer on a quiet commuter train on a drizzly morning on the other side of the world. And I imagine it wasn't first of the day so would have been stronger in the morning. I think now you've started you might as well continue testing 😀 keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
With regards to weight loss I'd second what the others have said, not a time to calorie restrict or feel hungry but nothing wrong with upping healthy proteins and fat, maybe look at the Glucose Goddess if you don't know her work (I think that can help everyone not just insulin resistant people) but if you can't eat anything but carbs to keep sickness at bay for example what can you do? And all of these hormones are working against us. Also I think I heard that because our lovely blasts already have some placenta cells made up of both us and male partners/donors their health can also influence whether you get gestational diabetes 😱

Miraclemuma03 · 03/11/2025 09:05

@ClaireBear101 hahahah im a sucker and i know it but now all the what ifs are tainting my thoughts. I bought more tests but our delivery service where we live is slow so knowing my luck my beta day will be here before the tests show up . Fun fun.

@Waitingforday6 Hahahaah i did something similar for Clairebear101 while sitting in a waiting room the other day. Im definitely trying to eat lots more eggs, vegetables and fruits, of course meat. though tonight I ate a bag of twirls to drown my surrows and regret every last one of them because now im going to bed feeling very indulged and sick so not only do I feel sorry for myself because 1 I tested early and the test is a maybe and 2 I feel sick and nauseous because I made a pig of myself eating chocolate and I couldnt eat dinner. Hahah. Tomorrow im going to get up, dust myself off and get on top of my house work and go for a drive to hang out with the horses for a while and think happy thoughts. My OTD is the 11th so im going to try to look forward to that.

Sara237 · 03/11/2025 09:38

@Miraclemuma03 Looking good! I know the doubts are hard and we're programmed for disappoinment but it's looking positive. 🤞
