Thought I would start a thread as can't see one already
Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

@pastelheart get a head start on your electrolytes! Lots of lucozade sports! I swear by it for drawing the fluid out of your uterus! Good luck!

@Klmno are you booked in for first scan?

@Happyclappy22 they will have a good luck at your lining on the day of transfer I’m sure they wouldn’t go ahead if you didn’t seem ready!

@pastelheart glad you are feeling a little better. Its such a rollercoaster. I was really upset at the end of last week when we discovered we'd have to do a frozen rather than fresh transfer. But I feel content with that now so just trying to focus on all the positive things we have coming up and not having to think about it for a while until we can get a transfer date.
It's funny how all the meds are so different for people. Pre-filled syringes ftw I say! 😆

@happyclappy22 best of luck for tomorrow. Worth asking if they would still consider a FET. I know at my clinic we could decide on the morning of transfer if we wanted to so it may be an option?

@BellaTink647 I know right, all of mine have been pre-filled, so been easy peasy. I don’t think the lubion is though so that is the hurdle we could fall at lol
when do you think your frozen transfer will be? X

@Happyclappy22 don't worry my clinic prefers fresh transfers, they wouldn't do it if everything wasn't looking good. Did they say why they are doing day3 over a day 5,

I'm on day 2 of injections and getting no symptoms 😬😬 I know the symptoms are a pain in the bum but I feel like it's not working due to nothing ..... In sure I'll regret saying this in 5 days time 🤣

You will hahahah! I didn’t feel ANY symptoms until day 10!

@pastelheart I have to wait for the withdrawal bleed and then first real period before they will do a schedule. If everything settles back into cycle quickly then I hope November some time.

@camelinastorm I didn't really get any side effects from the injections until a bit of cramping after about a week but that was it. So I know what you mean, you don't really want side effects but they do make you think something is happening!

Yes it's so strange that they make you feel better, it's been just over a year since my last stims and really wish I'd write stuff down so I know my norm

I don’t think you can win either way… symptoms or no symptoms. Symptoms = omg am I getting OHSS. No symptoms = omg nothings working

I have just done my trigger. I got a bit thrown as I watched the video the clinic had sent me and it was a pre-filled pen in the video… the trigger I had was a pre-filled syringe so I was like oh Christ it’s different I dunno what to do. But it was fine once I got over it. So all done.

how did everyone find any of their egg collections do I need to be worried about pain during the procedure? X

@pastelheart im feeling good! Worried as no symptoms but I think I would always feel that way as its way to early for that anyway even if we did strike lucky!

is your clinic doing sedation? Ive had light sedation and been awake but ok twice and this new clinic does deep sedation and it was amazing I was breathing one minute and being woken up the next. I believe light sedation usually sends everyone off anyway and I’m a rare case who fights it 😂 💪

I had deep sedation, was out like a light, loved it. Very mild pains after easily handled by paracetamol, they also recommended buscopan for cramps so had a couple of those but all in all nothing to write home about. I was very bloated for about 5 days after so that was the worst of it

I had sedation and don't remember a thing after they said they were giving me the sedative to then waking up in a chair in another room. Very disorientating because I must have walked between the rooms but had a couple of naps and couldn't remember! My husband said I asked the same question a few times afterwards which the nurses said was totally normal 🤣 I didn't have any pain that day. Some cramping the following couple of days but it was just like mild period pain. I did have more pain in my lower back but again, that eased over a few days. Nearly a week on for me and my tummy does still feel a bit sensitive but nothing painful.

Glad the trigger went OK @pastelheart, though its annoying when the videos aren't exactly what you have as that will definitely throw you!

Thank you all for confirming @Backtotheicsi@zirafica@BellaTink647 I was stressing as I asked the consultant yesterday if it will hurt and she said you will feel a sharp scratch when they insert the needle into your ovary and I was like oh brilliant you really aren’t making me feel better.

I know I won’t sleep tonight so hopefully I just pass out with the sedation and exhaustion lol

I think my clinic does conscious sedation which is like in the middle of light and deep sedation?

@BellaTink647yeah it just threw me off when it was slightly different but was all okay in the end!

also on the email they sent about egg collection they mentioned my partner doing a fresh sample and I was like hold up, we are using frozen… please tell me you know this AND you have his frozen sperm to hand because I cannot deal with that part going wrong as that part is meant to be the easy bit. They confirmed it’s all in order lol

omg that sounds strange, I didn’t feel anything, was flat out! They said there was a chance I’d wake up in the middle of it so mine might’ve been medium too, but honestly that didn’t happen. Only scratch I felt was when they were inserting the canula into my hand to put the anaesthesia through, after that I was completely gone. I’m sure you won’t feel a thing, please try not to stress as this seems like she misspoke!

@zirafica yeah it really didn’t help settle my nerves tbh! I wish I hadn’t asked her as it scared me. I don’t wanna feel no needle by my ovaries thanks very much.

I feel a bit better now though after hearing all of your experiences, so it will be fine. I will be brave.

I promise it's going to be totally fine, you'll wake up all woozy and feel so relieved it's over! They should let you know how many eggs they got from your follicles while you're still in the clinic, and then the next day how many fertilised, and then updates on day 3 and day 5. I know what you mean about feeling like you've forgotten something with not having shots, I was the same :D so weird how you get used to them isn't it!!

@pastelheart Oh yes sorry - duh!! I sae your trigger was last night and forgot that meant a 36 hour window. Very exciting!

I am good thank you. Was due to start everything today but typically the ONE MONTH my period hasn't arrived on time is this month 🤣 Hoping it's going to arrive before the end of today so that I can get started with injections tomorrow but we will see x

@pastelheart fingers crossed for tomorrow (and for some sleep tonight). My clinic told me I won't feel a thing, they didn't mention any sharp scratches and my friend who's had IVF said she felt nothing...so I'm sure you'll be okay!

I can't wait until my first monitoring scan on monday. Today is day 4 of injections and my belly still feels totally normal. I do feel really tired though but I have had a pretty hectic couple of weeks so not sure it's the stims. Did anyone else feel tired on stims?
Other than that I've had no symptoms so @camelinastorm I feel same as you!

Does anyone know if you're okay to do exercise during stims? I normally run a bit but haven't since I started cuz I've had a busy week but was planning on a run this evening then second guessed myself as to whether it's sensible

Great question! My clinic said exercise is fine but light to moderate. The only thing they stressed was not to do any twisting moves (I regularly do Pilates and that was a firm no from them). She said a light jog, or riding a bike would be ok!

I have still been going to the gym as normal I'll be honest don't know if I should be though didn't even think about it until now
@pastelheart I have never felt a think tolltally wiped out asleep 🤣 hubby said I am very much not asleep though 🤣 and just chatted rubbish

I was told by my clinic not to do anything too strenuous or that I wouldn't usually do, and also not to lift heavy weights in case of ovaries twisting (the thought of that makes me gag!!) On the whole though, they recommended just listening to my body and if I felt in pain/uncomfortable to take it easy, but if I felt fine I could stick to my usual routine :) x

@ziraficaokay you have all put my mind at ease, I’m not listening to the doctor she’s chatting rubbish lol. All day I have kept reading the email like I am 100% forgetting something!

thank you @Klmnoi feel better, I don’t want no sharp scratches… we have had sharp scratches since this whole process started lol I have felt quite tired on stims, I have been having an afternoon nap but then having insomnia at night so that’s fun.

I asked the same, as I am used to doing cardio, HIIT and weight training and much the same as what @AnonTTC clinic said, they said just listen to your body. So I have carried on but I have dropped the weight down and there have been some exercises I haven’t been able to do… if someone was watching me in the gym they would think I was a right idiot as I would do two reps and be like nope that’s hurting and stop and move onto to something else! Flew through my session in about 30 mins flat lol

okay @camelinastormi so hope I’m totally wiped out and chatting shit come 9am tomorrow! X

@YourTipsyDog in answer to your question. I acc got a call this morning and they said I was scheduled “provisionally” for this morning but they looked at my embabies and they are both growing well so they feel comfortable to do a day 5 transfer instead ☺️which sounds really good to me! I feel more at ease and that my body would have recovered. When’s your transfer?

Great advice thanks ladies, will just see how my body feels. I have definitely been starting to struggle mentally without exercise as I need endorphins to keep me sane haha.
