Thought I would start a thread as can't see one already
Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

I am so nervous, which isn’t really like me ConfusedConfusedConfused will be leaving the house in 10 mins. I keep asking my partner if he will have the procedure done for me and he keeps saying no, bit rude but whatevs

AnonTTC · 12/09/2025 10:56

Good luck @pastelheart !!! Let us know how you get on :) I'm sure it will all be over before you know it (probably is already even as I'm typing).

I finally started my period today so am waiting for my instructions to start my stims!! Feeling nervous but excited x

Happyclappy22 · 12/09/2025 11:07

Hahahahahahaha I genuinely think if they could they would 😂you will be so fine! The sedation even feels nice esp when you wake up and they give you a biscuit. You will come out feeling is that it? Minus maybe a lil cramping but depends on what your period cramps are like

pastelheart · 12/09/2025 11:13

Hi everyone, thank you for wishing me luck and checking on me.

honestly I was so nervous which really isn’t like me so that was a strange feeling and I didn’t like it. I got a bit teary a couple of times but I held it together.

in the procedure it was ok, I could deff feel everything though and it was painful. They upped my pain med and sedation to max and I could stuff feel stuff so then they were showing me my eggs on the screen to hopefully distract me (it worked for about 2seconds)

so yeah it wasn’t the best but it wasn’t as bad as I thought even with the pain etc.

I am just on way home now and my partner has. Shopping list… chicken Caesar wrap, codeine, muffin blueberry and chocolate, cinnamon bun LOL

I am quite uncomfortable now as well but onto the good stuff…

the free fluid has resolved so so long as I don’t developed OHSS over next couple of days fresh transfer is to go on Wednesday (so long as we have an embryo obviously)

but onto the really good stuff…

17 EGGS

which has made me so happy after being really upset on Wednesday when we were told it was going to be quite low numbers but my age amh and FC so I’m over the moon. Hopefully the frozen sperm defrosts well

Sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense or I can’t spell I’m still off my tits lol I had to really concentrate to write this

Miraclemuma03 · 12/09/2025 11:39

@pastelheart im so sorry for the fact that you felt everything. That must have been awful, iv also been there a couple of times but its over reasonably quickly so you just grin and bare it and hope for the best. I hope your feeling better and wow! 17 eggs , crazy. Let's hope for a great fertilisation rate and lots of embryos.

I know im not transferring this cycle now but thought id come check in after I took a bit of a break and there's alot happening. I definitely probably have missed a few conversations but everyone seems to be going alright so far.. im on my last lot of antibiotics, still not 100% well, been taking probiotics and have to be on them for another 2 weeks or so. Its been a long process. I got sick on my last stim cycle in July, took a break to get better in august and still not 100% well and needed more antibiotics, so my clinic and I thought it was a good idea to defer. Iv just got my period 8 days late so not really moving on to the next cycle very quickly lol . Good news is that I have lost 2kg this month and really trying harder to be healthier especially for my next transfer.

camelinastorm · 12/09/2025 13:03

@pastelheart wow super new on your egg count !!!! Not so super you could feel stuff, it's crazy how different clinics are mine I'm totally out like I have no idea at all, it's like they fully put me to sleep.
Fingers crossed for the sperm to defrost as epic as you're collection went !!!

Happyclappy22 · 12/09/2025 14:07

@pastelheart what an amazing egg count !!! That’s incredible, I’m happy for you not just because of the amount but also to know you were able to produce that amount in your reserves 😄pray all goes well with fertilisation!

not so great to hear you were fully awake. I feel I personally would have really felt it so glad I was sedated.

@Miraclemuma03 glad to see you back on the chat! And well done for doing so well with eight loss and healthy eating it really makes a difference not just for fertility but feeling good too. I’m abit of a health fanatic 😂so appreciate when I hear such things.also glad you’re on the mend.

looks like we’re all moving along very nicely. Any more ER happening?

any transfers?

Klmno · 12/09/2025 14:18

@pastelheart that's an amazing number of eggs! I hope it helps to lesson the trauma of the ordeal you went through to get them! Sorry to hear you felt it, that's crazy really that some clinics make sure people don't feel a thing and some don't! But all over now, hope you enjoyed all your grub! And are resting up well.

@Miraclemuma03 nice to hear from you and sorry to hear you are still not well!!

I'm on day 5 stims and started my ovulation suppression injection today as well.
Still no symptoms other than tired so Monday's scan can't come fast enough!
Tmi but my only symptom has been ewcm...did anyone else have that during stims?!
Hoping it's a good sign.
My last shift before two weeks of annual leave....bring on 8pm! I am absolutely crawling my way to the finish line and really need a break!! IVF will feel so much easier to handle when I'm off I think

Thank you @Miraclemuma03i am feeling a bit better now, have just been on the sofa watching tv for last couple of hours. I know I couldn’t believe it when they said 17! Glad you are feeling a bit better and hopefully you can have your transfer soon

@camelinastorm thank you, was so pleased as I have been stressing a lot since Wednesday. I 100% was not asleep but it’s done now and I’m over it lol

@Happyclappy22 thank you, honestly I was really worried. We were told we had 17 follicles on Monday and all good sizes and then at the scan on Wednesday it was 8-9 follicles that they thought they MAY get an egg from so to get 17 was 10/10. I have an above average AMH and follicle count for 32 so I was worried when they said 8 eggs as we can’t do ivf again so with the drop off… I was worried. My transfer will hopefully be next Wednesday so long as we have embryos.

@Klmno thank you! It has, I don’t care about the pain now, the eggs were all that mattered. I would 100% do it again. The snacks were so good lol. I did have an increase in cm during stims, I think this is completely normal. And yay for two weeks annual leave!

so the clinic just called to let us know how many were mature and we have 15 mature eggs. I am shook and very happy. Fertilisation results first thing tomorrow 🤞🏼 I know my partner is stressing about her frozen sperm but when it was frozen it was good quality so I keep trying to reassure him so I’m hoping he will feel better tomorrow after those results.

I hope everyone is okay, thank you for being so supportive the last few days. It really helps talking to people who are going through the same as you or have been through it. So thank you again xox

YourTipsyDog · 12/09/2025 14:59

@Happyclappy22 yours must be tomorrow then, the same as mine? I have been updated a couple of times by my clinic to say that my four eggs are doing well so I’m hopeful that I will have something to transfer tomorrow! It would be amazing to have something to freeze as well but we will see…

pastelheart · 12/09/2025 17:08

@YourTipsyDog @Happyclappy22 good luck for your transfers tomorrow 🩷

also just want to say, I hope I haven’t worried anyone speaking about my egg retrieval and it being painful. I know at the time it was as I remember telling them but now a few hours later I can’t remember the pain or anything so honestly it wasn’t the worst thing. Just wanted to say that as I realised after it might worry people and I don’t want that. So even if it goes bad, like mine it’s still not the worse thing xx

Happyclappy22 · 12/09/2025 17:54

@YourTipsyDog yes! Mine tomorrow at 10, how about you? Really glad all 4 of yours are growing nicely too! I’m excited and hopeful that I will be able to transfer one and keep the other to freeze which is perfect for me, I’m just very grateful 🙏I heard the transfer is so quick and have been looking and researching things that can help 🤭please keep us updated how it goes 😁

@pastelheart thank youu, keep us updated on the fertilisation!

BellaTink647 · 12/09/2025 18:48

@pastelheart great news about the number of mature eggs! Sorry the process wasn't the best, but glad you are feeling OK now! Its definitely an excuse for all all treats! My best friend had a similar experience to you. At the same clinic I am at so I think it depends how individuals react to the sedation because she was also awake and 100% aware of the whole process!

@yourtipsydog and @happyclappy22 Best of luck for your transfers tomorrow!

YourTipsyDog · 12/09/2025 21:14

@Happyclappy22 mine is at 9:30 so really close to yours once again :) I have had one transfer done and it is very quick, much like a smear test. I will have everything crossed for you.

@pastelheart I wasn’t awake throughout my recent egg collection but I know that I woke up at some point and felt quite a bit of pain. On my previous one I was completely out for the whole thing. So maybe if you have another done it might be different, if that reassures you at all?

pastelheart · 13/09/2025 08:36

@BellaTink647 yeah I think it’s just individual, the nurses and consultant were shocked I was awake as I was and felt so much as they said people who don’t drink (I haven’t drank anything In almost 6 years) normally just pass out… I am blaming my wild youth lol

I feel much better today! I was in a bit of a state last night and was in bed by 6pm but this morning I feel good as new.

@YourTipsyDogyeah I think it’s just one of those things but it’s done now and I’m still alive so it’s all okay lol

question for everyone- how many blood tests have you had through your cycle? Not including any prior to starting stims?

pastelheart · 13/09/2025 12:28

We have 7 fertilised eggs! I am relieved x

YourTipsyDog · 13/09/2025 12:34

@pastelheart that’s really great!

I had my transfer this morning so we begin the 2ww… @Happyclappy22 I hope yours went well :)

pastelheart · 13/09/2025 13:44

How was it @YourTipsyDog? I hope it was all okay x

babycoconut · 13/09/2025 14:22

Hi ladies, I hope it’s ok for me to join?

I had a successful IVF round in 2022 which resulted in my son. Had a frozen transfer in July this year which ended in a chemical. Now on another round as I don’t have any Frosties left. On day 6 of Bemfola, start Fyremadel tonight and got my first scan on Monday. I am with LWC in Darlington 😊

YourTipsyDog · 13/09/2025 14:33

@pastelheart it was ok, much more pleasant than my last one. The nurse talked through every part and stopped when it hurt to let me have a breather. I know most people find the transfer a breeze but my only one prior to this one was quite painful. Now we wait 😬 xx

pastelheart · 13/09/2025 14:43

Welcome @babycoconut I hope your cycle has been okay so far?

@YourTipsyDogglad it was better than your last one. Have they said why you find them painful? Also, did you have to be scanned before your fresh transfer? My clinic have said I need a scan before my fresh transfer to check everything is okay, so wondering if this is standard or if it’s due to the small amount of free fluid I had so they just need to check that x

YourTipsyDog · 13/09/2025 14:54

@pastelheart no I didn’t but I don’t have any known issues with my lining so I guess it probably is to check the fluid.

It was interesting because I said that last time I thought it was the catheter that had hurt, she said that was not the bit that normally hurt people but she would take it slowly so I could have a breather if it hurt. When we got to the bit where she put the catheter in I had the same pain as last time and she said I’ve got a sensitive ‘inner os’ which I’ve had to google 🤣 she said it’s unusual for people to feel that part but I most definitely do because she said I jumped at that point! She was so great though, I just did some deep breaths and the pain eased. The part where the embryo was put in didn’t hurt at all.

BellaTink647 · 13/09/2025 15:55

@pastelheart good news on your fertilised eggs!
The only blood test I had since starting stims was the ones to test progesterone level 2 days before egg collection.

NSC1982 · 13/09/2025 16:48

Hi everyone, hope it’s ok to join. I’m starting stims (menopur 300) tonight so feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. Any tips or advice gratefully received (will read back through all the above pages too). Bit nervous as I’m away next weekend but clinic have said it’s ok to have a scan and bloods Friday morning before I go then one Monday afternoon when I’m back.
Hope it’s going well for everyone so far…

pastelheart · 13/09/2025 17:12

Welcome @NSC1982! 100% ice the area before you do the injection, I normally put an ice pack on my tummy while I’m prepping it and then I can’t feel anything during the injection. After a couple of days it’s second nature so much so when you have a day off injections you feel like you have forgotten something. X
