Thought I would start a thread as can't see one already
Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

@Klmnono it’s gone very quickly! Have you done your first injection yet? I hope it has gone well/does go well x

Happyclappy22 · 08/09/2025 16:58

@pastelheart that’s really good! The bloating most deffo was worth it. It’s amazing that they bought it forward too 😁

@YourTipsyDog sounds great ! I also had my collection this morning and because of the strikes this morning was such a nightmare. Ended up being 10 mins late and flustered. Retrieval itself seemed fine but the pain that accompanied after was CRAY-ZY it felt like period pain on my left pelvis. I had to take codeine and have been sleeping/resting most of the day😖it’s feels better now but still not 100%.They managed to retrieve 5 eggs which I’m thankful for as initial numbers was 9. Booked in for a fresh transfer Saturday but still monitoring pain/ discomfort. I haven’t eaten properly either.

YourTipsyDog · 08/09/2025 17:21

Oh gosh @Happyclappy22 you poor thing. Did they have any idea why it caused you so much pain? 5 eggs is a good result though, so hopefully you’ll feel it was worth it. I came home and slept for two hours after mine which I think I might come to regret tonight! I hope you will be feeling better tomorrow xx

BellaTink647 · 08/09/2025 18:49

Hi all, just jumping in here as I'd been in the August thread and realised it's obviously no longer August haha.

First round of ivf (icsi) for us. Had egg collection on Friday and 9 fertilised eggs Saturday morning. Anxious for the call Wednesday morning to find out how many make it! Having to freeze all due to slightly heightened progesterone levels which has been very disappointing having got so close to a potential fresh transfer, but focusing on the positives of number of fertilised eggs and will see what Wednesday brings before we can really think about the next stage.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

pastelheart · 08/09/2025 20:00

@Happyclappy22oh no, I’m sorry you have been in so much pain. Was this while you were still at the clinic? Congrats on your five eggs though! I hope you are feeling better this evening

@BellaTink647welcome! Amazing on the 9 fertilised too! Fingers crossed for Wednesday. Is this your first cycle? How did you find it? X

BellaTink647 · 08/09/2025 21:03

@pastelheart yep first cycle. Have found it fine tbh. Didn't think I'd be able to do the injections as hate needles! but after 2 days I felt like a pro 😆and feel lucky I didn't get any side effects. And I was really nervous about the egg retrieval as had a friend who found that really uncomfortable but the sedation worked a treat for me so didn't feel or even remember a thing! It's all the waiting and uncertainty that I hate!
I see you have your collection this week, how are you feeling about it?

firststeps124 · 08/09/2025 21:19

Currently on only day 3 of injections! Feeling so bloated and uncomfortable already 🫤 Did anyone’s bloating / stomach aches subside after the egg retrieval?

Backtotheicsi · 08/09/2025 22:21

@pastelheart that's great news you’re nearly there!

@YourTipsyDog and @Happyclappy22 brilliant news on the successful collections fingers crossed for your fertilisation calls tomorrow!

@Klmno how was the first injection?

@firststeps124 i felt the same for the first few days after egg collection, still waddling like I had full ovaries. Period cramps maybe a bit worse for 2 days but the fullness didn’t go until yesterday 5 days after. Day 3 evening I had a really swollen tummy and was panicking but I think it was maybe trapped gas from starting the progesterone as all good now! No signs of ohss thankfully!

Klmno · 08/09/2025 22:46

First injection was ok thanks @Backtotheicsi . Bit of an anticlimax if anything 🤣🤣🤣 Just like life-changing significant moment that I didn't share with my partner as he'd fallen back asleep while I was in the shower and I didn't want to wake him... then hopped in the car and drove to work as if nothing had happened.

@BellaTink647 welcome to the thread 😊 Fingers crossed for Wednesday!

Backtotheicsi · 08/09/2025 22:49

@Klmno this is exactly how I felt lol I was so excited to get started and then I was gutted I couldn’t do anymore that day towards anything.
soon whizzes by though!
the clinic rang today and told us against all stats we got another 4BB frozen little embaby I couldn’t believe it.

pastelheart · 09/09/2025 06:48

@BellaTink647 oh lucky with the no side effects, I have looked 6 months pregnant since day 2 and anyone watching me in the gym would think I was a right idiot as I would start an exercise, do two reps, realise it was hurting my tummy and then stop lol. Glad the egg collection went well. How are you feeling about tomorrow?

yeah feel okay so far for egg collection, have another scan first thing tomorrow. I am sure I will be nervous on the day and wish I knew how whether we were doing fresh or frozen but alas.

@firststeps124i can’t comment on after egg retrieval as I haven’t done that yet, but I have been bloated and crampy since day 2. My clinic said it was normal etc

@BacktotheicsiI know! Can’t believe it, when she said Friday I was like erm what do you mean? It’s meant to be MONDAY and she laughed lol

good news on the no signs of OHSS and AMAZING news about your other embryo! So pleased for you! X

YourTipsyDog · 09/09/2025 09:03

I just had the phone call from my clinic to say that only 4 of my 9 eggs were mature, luckily all of those have fertilised but it feels like quite a worrying drop. I’m hoping with everything that there is something to transfer by day 5 🤞🏻

Happyclappy22 · 09/09/2025 10:47

@YourTipsyDog the nurse at the time said it must be because of my endo that’s why it’s so painful. That’s amazing that you have 4 for your transfer! It’s crazy how numbers literally half.

@BellaTink647 welcome to the group! You’re another first time cycler like myself And 9 fertilised is such a great result ! Hoping all goes well for your appointment for the next steps as atleast the hardest part is out of the way.

@Backtotheicsi congrata on getting another 4BB emb against the odds. That’s so great that there are no signs of OHSS.

im slowly getting there, heading into work knowing my to-do-list is sky high and colleagues are stressing me out 😩. I feel much better but have to put 2 pessaries daily one in the morn and other in eve. They are really messy and it’s hard to push all the way up so I use a clean cotton bud to push further, is that bad ?

Received a call from embryologist. They said of my 5, 2 were able to fertilise which I’m very grateful for ! I asked about what happened to the others, she said 1 was not mature enough to fertilise. 1 degenerated by itself and 1 egg they’re still keeping an eye on but don’t think it will fertilise which leaves the viable 2. They have booked me in for a ‘provisional transfer’ this Thursday but it’s not quite definite as they have to see how embryos progress. I’m super nervous as number have dwindled but I’m literally trusting in God that He will work it out.

camelinastorm · 09/09/2025 12:36

Day 1 of injections done over here. I really feel like I am missing something....last times it has felt more stressful. I really think I'm missing something important.
So I have 1 injection am of 300 and nothing else bar my general vitamins does this sound right 🤣

BellaTink647 · 09/09/2025 12:44

@camelinastorm I've only done 1 cycle but I started with 1 injection a day for 5 days, then 2 injections a day for another 6 days until trigger injection day. I'm sure it's all right if that's what in your plan!

@yourtipsydog and @happyclappy22 keeping everything crossed that your fertilised ones keep going strong for you this week!

camelinastorm · 09/09/2025 12:51

@BellaTink647 thanks for the clarification I thought i was going crazy, maybe I'm now just used to it, it seemed to easy 🤣

zirafica · 09/09/2025 13:07

firststeps124 · 08/09/2025 21:19

Currently on only day 3 of injections! Feeling so bloated and uncomfortable already 🫤 Did anyone’s bloating / stomach aches subside after the egg retrieval?

Mine only got worse after the collection (but had barely any symptoms before). I'd say on day 10 of injections it all started feeling heavy and my boobs were very sore. I'm now 10 days post collection and happy to announce I finally feel back to normal!

firststeps124 · 09/09/2025 14:21

@ziraficathank you that sounds promising 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xx

pastelheart · 10/09/2025 07:49

Hi everyone!

I am just heading to (hopefully) my last monitoring scan. I feel nervous and I’m not sure why, I think I am starting to worry about the egg collection.

i hope everyone’s okay and injections are going well and any little embryos are keeping happy and growing

for anyone worried about bloating and cramps during stims, after having awful bloating and cramps throughout it does seem to of calmed down a bit now on day 10 (but now I’m worried my follicles have all shrank lol, why are we like this?!)

BellaTink647 · 10/09/2025 09:36

Best of luck @pastelheart It's only natural to get waves of nervousness, especially as certain key dates get closer ♡

Clinic have called this morning to confirm we have 2 good quality blasts for freezing. A potential other 1 they are keep an eye on but not overly hopeful on that. A drop from the 9 fertilised but of course knew that was expected and just grateful we have a couple in the bank!

pastelheart · 10/09/2025 09:58

@BellaTink647 thank you, I’m even more nervous now. Feel like I am spiralling quite a lot

i have a couple of follicles above what they need to be, they are hoping the rest catch up for egg collection but they said about 9 follicles if they catch up and I’m just worried about this as we only have one shot at this as we have limited frozen sperm so I’m just really scared.

still due to trigger today and egg collection Friday. I also won’t know if I can have a fresh transfer until the day of the fresh transfer as I have some free fluid in my uterus but they are hoping this resolves, so that’s another stress

BellaTink647 · 10/09/2025 10:07

@pastelheart I know, all the uncertainty at every stage is so hard to deal with. It just is. That's a decent number of follicles though (I know everyone is different but I had 5 at my scan and then another 5 caught up by collection day).

Have you done a trigger before? Mine last week was the first time and we had a bit of trouble drawing it up. It was fine in the end but I'd just advise getting it ready in good time as it was trickier than I imagined just because everything else I'd used had been pre-filled, which added to the stress that evening!

Have you got anything planned over the next couple of days to keep busy and occupy your mind?

Klmno · 10/09/2025 10:26

@Backtotheicsi that's amazing about your other embryo! So happy for you!

I'm a bit worried that I haven't really felt any side effects yet (today was day 3 of injections).
I'm on quite a low dose as my amh is good (37 I think) but now I'm worried it's too low a dose as the amh I'd had a few months ago was 28 I think and I'm not sure whether it can really go up? So not sure the 37 was accurate. I know 28 is still good though and I'm not complaining I'm just worried they won't stimulate me enough! Eek. Such a stressful process. I guess I'll know more on my scan on Monday.

@pastelheart hope your scan goes well today!!

@Happyclappy22 can relate to work being stressful. It's hard juggling the rest of life alongside IVF isn't it?!

@BellaTink647 great news you have two little blasts❤️ that's two potential babies! But I bet the drop offs do feel really disheartening.

It's so easy to get lost in spiralling in this process isn't it?!

Happyclappy22 · 10/09/2025 17:27

I’m supposed to be having my day-3 transfer tomorrow. I’m starting to get nervous because I’m feeling a lil discomfort on my right pelvis it and feels period crampy 😖also I heard FETs are better than fresh transfers.

pastelheart · 10/09/2025 17:33

@BellaTink647 thank you for being kind… my spiralling has slowed a bit. I had a nap and have just tried to think of the positives and that it will all be okay. No I haven’t done a trigger before but mine is a pre-filled syringe so hopefully won’t be any stress. I have work tomorrow, I did have work today but I cancelled all my meetings as didn’t feel like being very social lol. How are you?

thank you @Klmnoeveryone else thought it was amazing but I wasn’t convinced so been stressing all day

@Happyclappy22ah no, are you able to talk to your clinic tonight or tomorrow to let them know your concerns? Would you rather switch to a frozen transfer?

I have the time for my trigger now, it’s 21.30 tonight eeeeeek x
