Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

Hi everyone, I’m back! I will try and read through everything to catch up but I see congratulations are in order for you @pastelheart!
I’m still down regulating with a nasal spray, and I began stims yesterday, 250 pergoveris. My last cycle was cancelled due to an very poor response after stimming with 225 pergoveris and no down regulation so it will be interesting to see if this is any better.
Has anyone got any tips to increase those follicle numbers?!

Awww congratulations @pastelheart !! That’s lovely news, and how great you got that at the same time as your “not so great” news from the doctor because I’m sure you couldn’t have cared any less about OHSS in that moment. I feel like the story of doing the test with all the nurses standing around will be a funny one to tell people in years to come 😂

@AnonTTC thank you! Yeah I couldn’t care less about the OHSS then… I was like OHSS who I feel great 🤥 I know, it quite the story lol. I went in for bloods today and took them a present and a card because they really did look after me and I was having an emotional breakdown, my poor little brain couldn’t keep up! I did think I was feeling better this morning but I was starving so just ate breakfast and feeling very uncomfortable, feels like someone is pumping up a balloon in my tummy and it’s pinching everything 😓 a day of lying on the sofa for me I think xx

@pastelheart congratulations that’s amazing news! Unfortunately our other 2 embryos didn’t make it to freeze so we just had the 1 ‘good’ embryo transferred on Sunday. Not the best news and I feel like everyday I’m getting more negative thoughts as keep feeling period pains! What a emotional rollercoaster!!

I have had on off cramps in that region since transfer so it’s not always a negative sign. Tbh, I didn’t have loads of symptoms the main one was waking up bloody starving when usually I don’t eat breakfast til 11am but I was eating at 6am lol xxx

Ahh this is exactly how I feel @pastelheart - I think I almost instantly had OHSS when waking up because they said there was loads of fluid in my stomach and put me on all the medication. How you’ve described it is exactly how I feel though, like somebody has pumped loads of air into my stomach that can’t escape. Yesterday was way worse and I couldn’t even breathe without my entire upper half hurting whereas today is a bit better, but like you I’m having to eat in small amounts because any large meal makes me really uncomfortable. Hope you’re feeling better soon & definitely a day on the sofa needed xx

@pastelheart im great thank you, very nauseous but a sense of calm has taken over the last few days since I stopped obsessively testing. Just trying to let time pass by. Scan on the 7th October, have you got a scan date yet? Any symptoms? xx

@firststeps124 are you planning on testing early? I still can’t believe I had to test before OTD, I was actually truly going to stick to that! And now I have tested about 15 times LOL. Thank you!

@AnonTTC ahhh yeah it’s not a nice feeling at all. I hope you start feeling better asap but it’s a good sign you are feeling slightly better today. I have been doing some reading today (hello ChatGPT, it’s me again) and because my OHSS has been caused because of pregnancy….. it could go on until 12 weeks 😵‍💫😓 I really hope not and I hope it settles in the next few weeks, I would 100% do this 20 times over again so I’m not complaining yet lol

no date for scan yet, I will probs get that on Tuesday when I contact the clinic on official test day, it should be around 21st October though! Honestly, I’m just starving all the time. Which isn’t great as it hurts when I eat lol. I did gag a few times this morning while cleaning the kitchen with an antibacterial I loved the smell of last week but now it’s disgusting 🤢 😂 other than that, nothing at all! Or anything else I have is from OHSS or the progesterone xx

@pastelheartno I don’t think I dare atleast maybe not until weds/ Thursday. Not had any symptoms other than period cramps but I suppose there is still time 🤞🏻

@firststeps124 I had hardly any symptoms… until I got OHSS and that was a massive one lol. But before that, I didn’t have much!

I have just had my blood results back for the OHSS and they aren’t great, quite a lot of the markers are out of normal range so apparently I need to drink 3 protein shakes a day LOL apparently we are in bulking season. Have repeat bloods on Monday so hopefully they are better then. Going to try and up my electrolytes too

Ah thank you @pastelheart - definitely improving but not 100%. I think because they gave me the meds as soon as I'd had my collection I was ahead of it but the fluid in my abdomen was causing SO much pain for the first few days, it was horrible. I definitely had moderate OHSS but luckily think they caught it before it became severe. You're right re the pregnancy, I think that's why I wasn't allowed a fresh transfer as they were quite confident I'd get it so had to take that precaution. Really hope you're feeling better and any meds they can give you are helping ❤️

We had our fertilisation results on Friday and of the 23 eggs they collected 17 fertilised!! I was expecting lots less so that definitely helped ease the pain haha. We get our day 5 embryo results tomorrow so keeping everything crossed x

@AnonTTC glad you are getting a bit better 🩷amazing numbers for your fertilisation! I have everything crossed for your day 5 results tomorrow. I am feeling a bit better, but like you not 100%. I am so bloated from the fluid. I just had my follow up scan and bloods at the clinic, and fluid is still there- not got any worse but not got any better so I am taking that as a good thing. Also, something exciting and didn’t expect, on the scan they could see a teeny tiny sack in my uterus so we saw our little tiny baby! I am only 4 weeks 3 days so deffo didn’t expect that but I am relieved that it’s in the right place 🥹🥰 xx

Great news that things haven't got any worse based on your scan, fingers crossed that means they caught it just in time and you'll start to see some improvements. What a lovely surprise though seeing your baby on your scan!!! Like you say, so early so you wouldn't have expected it but how incredible ❤️ So reassuring to know they are developing away in there, and I bet you're counting down the next few weeks until you can see them again x

@pastelheart ahh that’s so exciting that you’ve had confirmation baby is in the right place! I’m glad you’ve had a perk to all of your stress and symptoms! I am actually so impatient to check myself but I’ve got until next Wednesday.

I know, I couldn’t believe it… I looked at the lady and was like is that blob the baby and she just grinned and said it’s nice to see you smiling this week instead of crying like last week 😂 I’m such a drama queen lol yes can’t wait for the next scan, will be 3 weeks on Wednesday… I can 100% wait that long!

@Backtotheicsii know! I couldn’t believe it! Yeah it’s been quite a turn around, I’m so glad I went in last week when I was feeling awful as I put it off all day like maybe I’m just being a wimp. If I hadn’t of gone in, I would have been testing tomorrow so that’s a strange thought!

Hey @pastelheart yes, it is my first round :) & thanks for your positive vibes @Backtotheicsi. We've actually had the results this morning and we have 12 embryos in the freezer!! To say I am shocked would be an understatement. Honestly never expected that amount and in my head I had thought we might be lucky enough to get up to 10 which would be amazing, so to get 12 is just incredible!!

Don't think we will know much more for another few weeks regarding next steps & transfer plans etc but feel relieved for now knowing we have 12 potential chances waiting for us ❤️ Hope you are both doing well & same to everyone else on the thread! x

Hey, just catching up on here, been offline quite a bit the last week or so as we've been on holiday 😊

Lots to catch up on but WOW @pastelheart amaaaazing news (despite the drama!), huge congratulations!!! ❤️

@Backtotheicsi ahh not much to report from me, other than 2 more embryos caught up, so that's 6 X day 5 embryos and 2 x day 6 embryos....which is absolutely amazing as I was expecting our first round to go terribly as we have known sperm DNA fragmentation.
Feel like in the end it couldn't have gone better!
A little disappointed in the freeze all but I know my body needed it. Finally got my withdrawal bleed so that's some progress, just gotta wait until next period then we start with FET. Tired of more waiting but at least it's in a positive place knowing we have a good number of embryos!
How is your nausea doing? Best of luck with the scan, will be so lovely to finally have it!

@AnonTTC omg that's an amazing number of embryos!! Never heard of anyone getting that many!

Where is everyone else up to? A bit hard to keep track really. Even though sometimes time feels like it goes so slow during IVF, actually I guess time does fly given how many updates there seem to be in a short space of time!xx

Honestly please don’t be disappointed with the freeze all, I obviously wouldn’t change doing a fresh transfer now but with how poorly I have been which has been caused because I fell pregnant- it hasn’t been fun at all. I almost ended up in hospital and then that brought worry about the baby as well. Luckily, I am feeling better today and my bloods have improved but this could have lasted until 12 weeks and that was a worrying thought. Frozen is deff the way forward! xx

Thanks everyone. We actually got told this morning we had another 2 day 6 catch up, so we are delighted.

I'm with you @Klmno on feeling a little impatient with the FET process, even though I knew we needed that from the start. I think it's all the 'what ifs' of when it might be, when bleeds will arrive etc so I feel your frustration but as you say, our bodies needed it. I totally hear you @pastelheart .. when I had the OHSS symptoms last week I was saying to my husband there's no way I could imagine having an embryo put back in with how I felt, so I can only imagine how scary it felt feeling like that and knowing you had a little one on board! I'm glad you're feeling better and your bloods are improving though - fingers crossed you feel back to normal ASAP. Now I'm feeling better I've totally changed my mind though and I'm like EURGH I definitely could have had one put back in with how I feel now 🤣 it's tricky to know isn't it and I'm trying to just trust the process. I think our FET could be anywhere from November to January. I did get my withdrawal bleed yesterday though so at least that's one out of the way!!

So pleased to see your news @pastelheart!! We need to hear the success stories as well as sharing all the challenges and heartache.

@AnonTTC@Klmno I'm with you both on the FET. It was particularly disappointing for us to find about just days before a potential fresh transfer that we'd have to wait. We have a call with the clinic next week to better understand when we might get a date. Have had withdrawal bleed so will be waiting for next period which I'm hoping will be in the next couple of weeks.
