Thought I would start a thread as can't see one already
Anyone in the same boat who'd like to chat?
It's our first round. Likely to need a freeze all which I'm quite disappointed about as means won't even transfer until Nov.
I'm on short protocol.
Feeling pretty fed up ATM tbh, partly because it's come to this but also just want to get going, currently just waiting for my period early sept and feels like my life is on hold until then!

@pastelheart I am 10 days post transfer today, my OTD isn’t until Saturday. When is yours? Are you still on the dog videos for distraction? Maybe I should try that…

pastelheart · 23/09/2025 07:23

@YourTipsyDoghow is the bleeding? Are you still planning on waiting to OTD? Mine is next Tuesday 🩷

LOL I am on any video that pops up on TikTok but I haven’t cried again since Saturday 😂 but yeah try it, I think the emotional happy tears 100% helped xx

YourTipsyDog · 23/09/2025 07:31

@pastelheart it seems to have stopped, it was brown rather than fresh blood. According to the internet this isn’t necessarily bad but I think I’m programmed to assume the worst at this point. I’m going to try and make it until Friday, part of me wants to know and part of me just wants the bliss of ignorance. Will you wait until Tuesday?xx

Just catching up on here and really hoping for lots of positives after everyone's transfers. Good luck to everyone still awaiting egg collection/news about embryos

I've had a pretty awful few days with horrendous nausea, extreme exhaustion and (tmi) constipation. I'm pretty sure I've had mild ohss and can't imagine what full on ohss is like as this has been horrific. It's made me switch from disappointment we are having a freeze all to feeling glad we are as my body really isn't in a good place!

However I am absolutely over the moon, because we found out today we have 6 embryos frozen!! I never in my wildest dreams expected that number, really can't believe it. I remember our world shattering in February when we were told about the DNA fragmentation and low chance of IVF success. I know we aren't out the woods yet but feel so grateful for multiple throws of the dice and feel so glad to feel like we can breathe again.

Ahh sorry to hear you've not been feeling great @Klmno , but I'm glad it's helped you to feel more positive about having a freeze all to give your body the best chance.

Great news about the 6 embryos!! That's a fantastic number and gives you an excellent chance of having at least one successful pregnancy from this round :)

& thank you @pastelheart - my day 10 scan was good thanks (albeit very uncomfortable). They could see 50 follicles!! Wild numbers but obviously some of those were smaller so not expecting to yield that many. I think about 15-20 maybe were the size they were looking for, but I guess we will see on Thursday how many we get. I'm also conscious that with those numbers we might get high drop offs because some might be of a poor quality, but will very much be a waiting game!! I'll keep you all updated. Bit of less good news is that our clinic close from early December until mid-Jan so having a transfer this year is looking less likely which is a shame x

pastelheart · 23/09/2025 13:20

@YourTipsyDog yes I will be first testing on OTD, I am going to be a good girl lol and… I can’t bring myself to test before then. I am 6dpt today, so almost half way there! I’m glad the bleeding has stopped for you too and it’s deffo not necessarily bad either

@AnonTTC wow lots of follicles! That’s an amazing number, are you really bloated and uncomfortable? I am sure you will get good numbers at your egg collection too! Xx

AnonTTC · 23/09/2025 15:58

Hey @pastelheart - thank you! Fingers crossed it gives us a good chance of getting a decent number of embryos. We are on an NHS round so it would be amazing to get a couple so we have a few shots at one of them sticking!

Very much bloated and uncomfortable.. they actually had to do half of my scan abdominally because my right ovary is really bulky and has moved to higher up in my abdomen! I had a feeling it was because last night I was sooo sore and could really feel it when I pressed down on my stomach.

I'm sooo nervous about OHSS though so going to make sure I'm aware of any potential symptoms over the next week or so x

pastelheart · 23/09/2025 17:17

@AnonTTC I am sure it will 🩷 I am not shocked you are uncomfortable!

guys… I am bloody starving all. The. Time.

like I’m so hungry right now I feel like I could collapse

camelinastorm · 23/09/2025 18:27

@AnonTTC drink loads of electrolytes on the run up to egg collection and for the week after it's a really good way to minimise OHSS what a super number of folicles!!!!

Klmno · 23/09/2025 21:53

Yes @AnonTTC definitely drink loads, I don't think I did enough of that! I would also recommend to buy some anti-sickness medication for the days after egg collection if you think you might get ohss. My clinic told me to buy buscopan in case I was crampy but I wasn't crampy just very nauseous and when I've read about ohss that's one of the most common symptoms. I wish I'd had some to hand as didn't fancy staggering to the pharmacy while feeling awful so had to wait until my partner had a gap between work meetings.
I'm feeling much better today, I think it's the first time I've had any energy since a few days into stims, and the nausea has finally gone! We also found out two more embryos caught up so we have another two for the freezer which I'm absolutely gobsmacked by but super happy!

Feel like time is going sooooo slowly as I really want my withdrawal bleed so that I can predict my next cycle and start planning for fet!
Although shouldn't complain as I know time doesn't go as slowly as in the tww! Hope everyone is holding out ok with that.
We should compile a list of things to distract us, so far suggested I think we've had
-dog videos
-hoovering
-making a Christmas cake
Any others?! 🤣

Has anyone whose done IVF in the past and done a FET got experience or insight about what is best - medicated or non medicated? I ovulate myself so think I will try and have natural but maybe with progesterone support.
But a bit scared I'll just completely misjudge ovulation date and mess it up!
Also do you know if they scan during a natural cycle, I've read stuff to do with assessing if the lining is good enough?!

@Klmno you forgot videos of lorry drivers beeping at children and then crying about it for 30 mins…. 😂😂 I had to take a break from tiktok for a bit after that as I was concerned I was going to have an emotional breakdown lol

amazing news on your two other embryos! 🩷

camelinastorm · 24/09/2025 09:40

@Klmno I have had FET in the past I did medicated just as it was easier for timing and all that as you have to have quite a few scans doing natural and that wouldn't work for me unfortunately

AnonTTC · 24/09/2025 09:49

Thanks for all your tips @pastelheart @camelinastorm @Klmno - I'm running to the shop to buy some electrolytes right away!!! I'll be sure to keep topped up on those and make sure the anti-sickness are to hand as well.

Glad you are feeling a little better too @Klmno and that's GREAT news about your extra 2 embryos - you must be thrilled :)

I did a natural FET in July which resulted in a chemical. I didn’t really have a choice in whether to do natural vs medical as I don’t tolerate estrogen too well so clinic said I needed to do natural. I was terrified of missing ovulation so was testing 3x a day from day 7. I also had to spend a fortune on bloods which weren’t included in my FET package but were needed to gauge where my hormones were at. If I had to do it again I’d say medicated 100%. I really don’t feel confident that it was timed perfectly, even with testing 3x a day. Even the timing being the slightest bit off can skew it I think. The clinic assured me it was fine but my gut was saying otherwise, even before the chemical resulted. I have a short luteal phase too.

I’m on my way into the clinic for transfer! 3 of my embryos have made it to day 5. A 4AA being transferred and a 3AA and 3BA being frozen but they might’ve moved along a bit by the time they freeze them. So I’m really pleased with that. Hoping the transfer goes smoothly. I found it really painful the last time, I think a combo of tilted womb and c sec scar tissue. I’m choked with the cold too but clinic have said it’s fine to proceed as long as I don’t have fever, which I don’t. Honestly, a sickness bug mid stims and now a cold for transfer! 😩

camelinastorm · 24/09/2025 15:00

@my transfer is due tomorrow I have to be at the clinic at 915 light breakfast and a litre of water 🤞🏼 for a good transfer and confirmation of my embryos

camelinastorm · 24/09/2025 16:50

Random one but does anyone know the needle size as in the gauge for progesterone injections I have the yellow ones but they seem too thin to get the oil through

pastelheart · 24/09/2025 17:17

@camelinastorm do you mean the needle to draw up the solution? The green one?

I use the yellow one to inject and it does take a bit of time to push it through but it is fine and that is normal x

camelinastorm · 24/09/2025 17:45

@pastelheart no I have the purple large on for drawing up it's the actual injections they just seem to take ages for it to go through it's quite awkward pushing it in and then bruising occurs, oh well will have to suck it up 🤣

BellaTink647 · 24/09/2025 18:56

@Klmno @babycoconut
I'm currently waiting to hear about the process for my FET.... I didn't know there was potential options of natural vs medicated so not sure what clinic have in store for me and if there is the option?! I've had my withdrawal bleed now so have a call with the clinic in 2 weeks where they will discuss next steps so assume this will come up then.

pastelheart · 24/09/2025 19:22

@camelinastormcan you take the yellow needle to a pharmacy and ask for the next size up? Obvs it might hurt a bit more putting the needle in but will be easier to administer once in

how’s everyone else? What have we got coming up soon for everyone it’s very easy to loose track!

I have my OTD on the 30th and I am still feeling strong about not testing 🫶🏼 xx

I think, generally speaking, most clinics prefer medicated as much easier for them to plan whereas natural could literally fall on any day of cycle/day of week, depending on when you ovulate

camelinastorm · 24/09/2025 19:33

@pastelheart yes may just do that think its the 22g blue one, just didn't want waste money if I actually needed 2 sizes up as it's quite thick as it's oil based

pastelheart · 25/09/2025 07:09

@camelinastormI almost forgot to change the needle the other day and the drawing up needle almost went in my stomach lol 😂 probs would of punctured a kidney they are so long!

camelinastorm · 25/09/2025 07:13

@pastelheart oh gosh imagine!!!
I'm currently sat waiting for my final embryo results at the clinic waiting for my transfer super scared this time, it's my 4th full round and has to be the last think this is why I am so scared it's now or never

NSC1982 · 25/09/2025 07:30

Hope this week is going well for everyone at all your different stages. I had my egg collection yesterday - 20 eggs, 14 mature… so now anxiously awaiting the call on how many fertilised. We did iCSI as partner has low sperm doubt and morphology so just really hoping some have made it through!
