@confused2025 thank you ❤️ if I am measuring ahead that will only put me a few days behind you. What’s your EDD? Good luck for your scan on Friday.

confused2025 · 04/08/2025 18:48

@lemonwrighty 15th Feb. It feels like a lifetime away. How about you? Right now I’m trying to think about when I tell work etc and a little stressed about that.

lemons44 · 04/08/2025 19:19

Great news @Timetotryagain

Sorry you had such a scare @lemonwrighty
what does EDD mean?

lemonwrighty · 04/08/2025 19:23

@confused2025 I’ve had EDD of 18th, 20th and 22nd Feb so I suppose somewhere between those dates. I made the decision today that I’m going to tell work tomorrow after the scare this morning. I’m high risk as it is so I’m having more appointments than normal. Today I had to take 3 hours out of work for the appointment, luckily work was understanding and they didn’t ask questions so I think it’s only fair on my part to explain why so I feel less guilty and so they are in the loop, I will be telling them it’s private information though so it doesn’t go beyond my seniors.

lemonwrighty · 04/08/2025 19:31

@lemons44 thank you, it means estimated due date

lemons44 · 04/08/2025 19:33

@lemonwrightyim a bit confused how it works with IVF pregnancies. How does it keep changing when they know the transfer date?

Hopeloveandkindness · 04/08/2025 19:43

lemons44 · 03/08/2025 18:29

Welcome @Hopeloveandkindnessim a bit behind you (7weeks tomorrow). I’ve only really just started to get nausea and it’s very mild. I am finding though that I’m feeling more fussy about food. One minute I really fancy a specific food and the next I can’t stand the thought of it. It’s impossible to do a weeks food shop because my tastes keep changing so quickly that by the end of the week I no longer want what I have bought 🙈

Thank you I can relate however today I have felt the worse I’ve felt so I hope it’s not going to ramp up now 😭🫣 it’s been a tough day!!

confused2025 · 04/08/2025 19:46

@lemonwrighty oh good luck for tomorrow. I decided to take Friday as PTO and just not have to think about work. I think I’ll break the news next week. Good luck for tomorrow.
@Hopeloveandkindnesshope you feel better soon. I’m kinda finding it some days are worse than others but I’m definitely not experiencing that pregnancy glow they talk about 🤣

🤣🤣 me either I can’t be bothered to even dress some days I’m a right treat 🤣 hope I get some energy back soon and can actually make an effort

lemonwrighty · 04/08/2025 20:14

@lemons44 I don’t understand either, I’ve just told people I’m due 20th Feb as that’s what my ivf clinic told me and they said to ignore what the hospital says as they base your EDD of your last menstrual period but now I’m even more confused as to when my EDD will be because today the EPU said I’m measuring 7w6d

KayEmmSquared · 04/08/2025 21:59

Thanks ladies.

yes @Timetotryagain I’ve already contacted my local maternity service, I have my midwife app in 3 weeks and my 12week scan in 5 weeks (so I’ll be 12+5) 🤞🏻🤞🏻

The due date thing can be confusing, at my NHS dating scan they were happy to go with what my IVF clinic had given me as the date (15th feb) as I was measuring in line with that too, I guess there's some variance in measuring between scans and sonographers so there might be a day in it here or there. I had a scan at 9+4 at my IVF clinic and their measurement was bang on 10 weeks, so can be a few days in it either way I reckon!

@confused2025 think you were saying you're planning on telling work soon? I'm thinking I will too now I've had my NHS scan, not really anything else to wait for now, I'm still finding telling people quite scary! I'm on holiday for 2 weeks and when I go back I'll be just over 14 weeks which is probably a good time to tell them... just feels a bit scary and awkward!

confused2025 · 05/08/2025 09:17

@Orangewillowa two week break will be really good to escape. I took a PTO day for my 12 week (5D) scan this Friday and I think I’ll mention it next week but I’m very nervous as there is some team restructuring going on at the minute.
on dates, I’ve gone by the what to expect and Flo IVF date calculator. The nurse was happy to stick with this although said I was measuring a few days ahead but they said it was better to stick with that as the embryo was transferred on the specific date and was a day 5.
I now also need new clothes as my old clothes and bras are uncomfortable but feel nervous buying maternity clothes in case I jinx it all.

Orangewillow · 05/08/2025 09:28

Yeah im getting to that point with my clothes, hardly any of my summer stuff fitted when I was packing for my holiday and by the time I get home I think I'm going to be out of trousers completely... I've put on loads of weight from the ivf meds and then pregnancy carb binging, feeling pretty down about it! I figure if all goes well, once I have a proper bump it'll be easier, but now I just feel uncomfortable and a bit gross. It does feel a bit like jinxing it to buy maternity stuff but I'm going to have to soon!

confused2025 · 05/08/2025 09:37

@Orangewillow we go away in September and I will def need to do this for beach wear. For now, I’m dressed like a 12 year old boy in hoodies and atleisurewear. I’m just so happy I work from home

lemons44 · 05/08/2025 09:42

@confused2025if your team are restructuring your role should be protected as you are pregnant. We had a restructure a few years ago and they had to protect one ladies role due to her being pregnant so she was the one person who wasn’t put at risk of redundancy and had her role ring fenced for her.

confused2025 · 05/08/2025 09:55

Thanks , yes I guess with legislation it should be ok b it I have seen a lot of folks on maternity leave or just about to go on maternity leave be impacted in a previous company so it’s scared me a little. I just need to remind myself if it happens, I won’t go hungry and there are other way more important things than work x

lemons44 · 05/08/2025 12:38

Proper spiralling today. For the past 2 days ALL my symptoms have gone. I feel normal. I had loads of uterus twinges last week and nothing since Friday. In my panic I have booked a scan for this evening.

lemonwrighty · 05/08/2025 13:25

@Orangewillow it is so confusing isn’t it but I’m not overly too concerned with when my exact due date is but if anyone asks I say the date my clinic told me.

@lemons44 good luck with your scan, that was me for the first 4 weeks of pregnancy apart from I didn’t really have anymore since symptoms other than I was eating like a pig.

Its hard to believe a baby is growing in my belly after my scan yesterday, the baby was really active, really kicking and waving.

confused2025 · 05/08/2025 13:57

@lemons44 it’s normal for symptoms to fluctuate. Sending you 🍀 for tonight x

lemons44 · 05/08/2025 14:02

Thanks both I think I am letting the anxiety get to me a bit. After the scan, assuming it is ok, i am really going to try and ‘switch off’ for a few weeks to try and not obsess so much. Maybe have a break from mumsnet. I can feel my mental health struggling a bit I think it has been all the IVF trauma to get to this point. Does anybody know if having a second early scan will have the baby? Like the ultrasound waves?

confused2025 · 05/08/2025 14:11

@lemons44 it will be ok, I think you just don’t want to be doing it weekly. Yes, this is such a stressy time and sometimes seeing loads of updates - happy and sad can make you spiral so I totally get that x

lemonwrighty · 05/08/2025 15:45

Completely understand and it is so ok to take a few weeks off. I did it every now and then at the very early stages. For me it does get a bit better as the weeks go by, you start to get excited but at the same time I’m always going to have a bit of anxiety but I’m really trying to manage it and enjoy every moment. Hope it all goes well tonight

lemons44 · 05/08/2025 21:34

All was ok. Turns out my disappearing symptoms mean diddly squat! 😅 need to try and find some zen now 🙏🏼

PlanBFertility · 05/08/2025 22:11

Glad all ok. My first scan (7+1) is Thursday and I’m petrified
