July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@EGalway we seem to be on the same plan, with similar dates. I started Cetrotide on Sunday, I highly recommend leaving an ice pack on the area for 5-10 mins before injecting, I didn’t even feel the needle go in this morning I was that numb. I have another scan on Wednesday also. They told me egg retrieval could be this week or early next week but that was before they saw the low numbers on the scan. I guess I’ll know more on Wednesday whether I’ll have to change doses or whether egg retrieval will happen.

Oooo we seem very similar, both with scans on Wednesday. What clinic are you using?I am with ReproMed in galway, I find them excellent. I am feeling swollen this evening and a bit uncomfortable, the first time so far since starting the injections that I feel uncomfortable.

SummerSolstice25 · 30/06/2025 22:26

@EGalway I’ll send you a message if that’s alright?

Miraclemuma03 · 30/06/2025 23:54

@VioIetMoon i am also on the pill for this cycle and its not going very well, my face has broken out, I keep getting headaches and im in a bad overwhelmed mood all the time. Inhave 6 days left on mine.

Timetotryagain · 01/07/2025 06:53

Morning everybody! Starting the progesterone today ahead of the transfer on Thursday :)

@ALittleExpressive sounds like we are on the same timeline then! Yes definitely will be doing the fries on the way home haha! Anything else i should do?? Warm feet i have heard is good

I have had a mock transfer too last month so it also helps me going into it as i know what to expect :)

SummerSolstice25 · 01/07/2025 07:16

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m sick of injections already and it’s only been a week! I’m afraid they’ll cancel this cycle because of numbers being low etc and I’ll have to go through it all again 😒

EGalway · 01/07/2025 14:53

How did everyone feel after egg collection?I might have egg collection on Friday and have party the following.

Timetotryagain · 01/07/2025 16:09

@EGalway it depends how many eggs they get potentially, i got 11 and felt very sleepu the first day but pretty much fine (a bit swollen) by the next day. Hopefully its all okay for you!

If you got LOADS of eggs then you might be more swollen and sore

Timetotryagain · 01/07/2025 16:10

@SummerSolstice25 its so horrible isnt it not knowing when the needles will end either! It was amazing doing the trigger shot knowing that was the last one haha!

How many follicles are they seeing at the moment?

Hi All,
Would love to join :-). I'm 40 (well hanging onto my last day of it!) and about to start my first IVF cycle tomorrow on my 41st Birthday! ...birthday date with wanda in the morning for my baseline scan and then hopefully start meds same day all being well (fingers crossed). I'll be starting Gonal-F and Meriofert and then on Cerazette contraceptive pill to suppress ovulation which I haven't come across anyone doing here before in all I've read but we're going abroad for the IVF also so it's all a minefield!

I have a 20yr old son but from a different life and conceived naturally so this is all new to me.

I have a scan tomorrow so I’ll find out then. At least now I’ll know what to ask this time, I didn’t have a clue what the nurse was talking about on Monday when she started listing figures 😅

Bejewelled19 · 02/07/2025 07:52

Welcome @WhiteRabbit0 and happy birthday! I hope your scan goes well and you can get started. I’ve got injections to stop ovulation but there’s different protocols on this thread I think. I’m currently waiting for period to start to get cracking … feels weird actually wanting it to come for a change!

I hope your scan goes well today @SummerSolstice25 💛

Welcome! And happy birthday! Good luck with this cycle and I hope its a smooth ride. Im turning 40 this month and also starting a new cycle.

SummerSolstice25 · 02/07/2025 10:41

I will know for certain what’s happening this afternoon, but my numbers weren’t great this morning. The nurse said I’d be looking at possibly 4 eggs at best. One side was very slow. As I’m on the public system this is essentially a free trial, but the public system will only allow the clinic to cancel a round twice so basically they’re taking everything into account before they make any decisions. I’m disappointed as my AMH was good, I thought I’d respond well. I’m wondering if I should have done something diet wise to help things along. The scenario at the moment is either collection on Friday or a cancelled cycle, I will update later.

magpie234 · 02/07/2025 11:04

Hello! I should hopefully be starting my first FET end of July so would love to join please. I had started on a medicated cycle but had to come off it as the estrogen side effects were bleurgh. Now waiting for my period to come to start again with a natural/modified natural approach but not sure if it will come on time as it usually does, due to some estrogen being in the mix this cycle! Yet more fun uncertainty! Best of luck to everyone having treatment this month. Looking forward to hopefully finding some cycle buddies

FlatWhiteAnyone · 02/07/2025 11:18

Hi @magpie234, I hopefully also will have my first FET end of July! I did downregg injection on Monday and period should arrive next week and first scan on the 11th. Will be fullly medicated. This uncertainty is killing me!
Hooe everyone is coping well

WhiteRabbit0 · 02/07/2025 12:37

@Bejewelled19 I know the feeling, my cycle has been regular as clockwork for the last 2 years of TTC, but the last 3 months (since starting this process) it has been different every month! Has been a right pain with trying to plan the right time to fly out to Madrid! It's definitely strange to be wishing for your period, hopefully it comes soon for you, when is it due?

@Miraclemuma03 Thankyou very much. And a big Happy 40th to you too for this month. What number cycle will this be for you and how are you finding it so far?

Thankyou for the birthday wishes! My scan went well this morning AFC 12 and everything looking good so stims start today ☺️

Oh amazing. So all being well you will be a bit ahead of me then. My actual transfer will not be till August I assume but will be starting the scans etc end of July (I hope!). Best of luck for yours.

FlatWhiteAnyone · 02/07/2025 13:22

@magpie234clinic said mine will be 27- 1 st of August only, only after first scan they will give me the plan. Good luck xx

FancyGoose · 02/07/2025 14:22

Hope everyone is doing okay- haven't managed to keep track of everyone's updates but definitely recognise a few names from other boards :) had a scan yesterday and my lining is at 7.5mm. I'm starting lubion and cylcogest Saturday, blood test Tuesday to check progesterone levels and then, all being well, transfer Thurs (will start baby aspirin and clexane then too). I'm absolutely terrified and feel a bit sick just thinking about it - feels worse than previous transfer as the stakes just feel so much higher the more times it takes!

SummerSolstice25 · 02/07/2025 14:28

Cancelled cycle for me due to poor stims response. I just wait for a bleed now.

VioIetMoon · 02/07/2025 14:41

@SummerSolstice25 I'm so sorry to hear that. Ivf is so unpredictable isn't it.
When I did my first round , I had a very high amh of 62 but despite this didnt responded too much. We got 7 eggs.
I'm with a different clinic now and completely different protocol so I don't know what to expect. I'm older , and I don't feel confident in this protocol at all so I do worry I'll respond very badly this time as the protocol they have me on apparently isn't recommended for women like me with pcos as it can subdue the ovaries too much, thus making it difficult to awaken them and get a response but this clinic don't seem to be offering a tailored individual approach. Just a one size fits all. If you responded poorly it's worth asking to change the protocol. I hear alot of women saying it can make the world of difference In previous poor response cycles

Ahhh sorry to hear this

PlanBFertility · 02/07/2025 15:00

Jumping on this thread. Had egg collection today - 7 eggs, all mature. 5 appear to have survived ICSI

This is third and final go as total failed fertilisation both other rounds so really really dreading the call tomorrow!

SummerSolstice25 · 02/07/2025 16:41

@VioIetMoon my Amh was 19 so they thought I’d have responded better than I did but they are going to discuss my case and either keep me on the same protocol for the next cycle and increase the dose or change protocol altogether. They will let me know in a week or so what the plan is.
@PlanBFertility I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you
@EGalway hope things went better for you today
