July IVF/ICSI/FET

I didn’t see a thread for July IVF yet. I am due to start stims around 18Jul with estrogen priming starting the week before that. Collection will be the end of July all going well.
This will be my second IVF and I will be using ICSI. I will be 40 during treatment and 41 come collection. I have a child from my first IVF 3 years ago. Since then I had a chemical pregnancy Dec 2024 with my only other embryo from my 2022 cycle and a failed IUI in Feb this year.
I found the discussion board really helpful and supportive in my first IVF round as we all understand the crazy ups and downs of this rollercoaster. Wondering if there are any others with similar timing?

@Miraclemuma03 it does seem like you might be out but there’s still time, until you get to 10dpt. It’s important to prepare mentally for the worst though.

DeeKel · 07/08/2025 13:55

@Miraclemuma03 Im so sorry and I understand how hard it is to keep going with the meds until the bloods. I had a positive previously that faded away by the time of the bloods but I knew that i had to keep taking the progesterone and it was just cruel. Cry and shout and whatever you need to at this very unfair process. Sending hugs

I received my day 6 report. They were able to freeze a 4BB and 3BB this morning. There were two other early blastocysts on day 5 that I didn’t realise but one degraded overnight and the other was a 4BC this morning but my clinic discarded anything less than B grade which is unfortunate. They also gave an IDA score which I didn’t have previously- the higher it is between 1-10 the higher pregnancy chance. Wish I didn’t see them because mine are very low but I’ll hope for the best.

@DeeKel that sounds like great news they managed to freeze two :) try not to worry about the IDA score, easier said than done I know, hope you have a relaxing few weeks

Thanks to everyone’s reply about the progesterone - I’m going to try hard to advocate for myself more on the next round. My current clinic is part of the local hospital and, while they’ve mostly been great, they only do scans/procedures 3 days a week and the wait lists are really long - feels fairly limited. So I’m deffo going to switch now that I have to pay. Has anyone ever used Care Fertility before? I know there are a few around the UK and that seems to be closest to me.

RainbowFluff · 07/08/2025 16:40

@DeeKel great news with your frosties as well. Always nice to know there will be a chance in the future.

I ended up freezing all four of mine on day three again. The day three grading is different but none of them have any fragmentation which is really good, 2x 8 cell and 2x six cell.

DeeKel · 07/08/2025 16:48

@RainbowFluff Three frozen good quality day 3 embryos is brilliant! 6-8 cells is exactly what they want and no fragmentation is excellent.

@DeeKel oh really, I will find it very upsetting if my clinic don't freeze C grades considering both my embryos from my previous ivf cycle had c grades in them. A 5cb and 3cc .one of them is my son. That clinic didn't freeze anything below c grade and discarded our 3cd . I assumed all would be the same. I should have asked my current clinic this before proceeding with them

StorkVisit · 07/08/2025 21:39

@Bloop123 I’m currently an NHS patient with care. I think the treatment I’ve had seems relatively generic but then it is my first cycle.
i had short protocol. 1 scan on day 9. On day 9 the nurse said she thought that I’d need another day before trigger but then I got a call saying the doctor reviewed my scan and they wanted me to do a double injection and then trigger that night.
They didnt do bloods and only the one scan. Apparently I had 8 follicles on the baseline scan. I got 5 eggs at egg collection. The doctor was happy with that.
The staff are friendly and I’ve felt like I’ve known what I was doing throughout the process. We got a choice of appointment times. (Scans, bloods etc not E.C or E.R)

StorkVisit · 07/08/2025 21:40

@DeeKel. congratulations. Sounds like a good result.

I think with having so few blasts and knowing that there are plenty of success stories with C grades it’s a bit narrow minded of the clinic to discard anything less than b grade. Although I suppose for them it’s a numbers game and it would probably bring down their reportable success rates. I just think they could have asked at least.

@StorkVisit my first cycle was nhs and I'd rate it highly. The staff were brilliant and we felt well informed throughout the process. We got out ds from that round
I'm currently doing a private round and it's a nightmare. Its been one disaster after another. Continous errors and we've had absolutely no idea whats been going on throughout the process. We also had no idea of our protocol or when we were supposed to start until the day before. We can't choose appointment times, it's always 8am in the morning and eveytime we go in theres multiple patients brought in at the same time and your waiting around for hours . I really wish I could go back and do another round with the nhs

VioIetMoon · 07/08/2025 22:25

@DeeKel absolutely. I think no embryos should be discarded without patients consent . After all, its our embryos and it's us paying for the storage . We should have a choice if we want to discard or proceed with using the embryos regardless of their grade

Miraclemuma03 · 07/08/2025 22:52

@DeeKel great news about the embryos on ice.

@Bloop123 how are you feeling today?

I woke up with brown bleeding (sorry too tmi) this morning. Il ring the clinic and see what they want me to do.

Bloop123 · 08/08/2025 03:15

@StorkVisit thanks this is v helpful. In my current clinic, my day 10 scan was on a Monday, and I felt i could’ve done with an extra day on stims before my trigger, but because they only trigger either Monday or Wednesday night, I didn’t have that option. I think it was due to the doctors commitments in the hospital and it’s this sort of thing that will hopefully be more flexible with Care.

@Miraclemuma03 im okay and processing it in the day time, but keep waking up at night in a bit of a panic (it’s 3am in the UK currently😂). All my friends seem to be announcing their first pregnancies atm, it all feels v unfair. How are you? Sorry to hear about your spotting, is there any chance that could be implantation? I have my final test tomorrow and then I can draw a line under this cycle xx

Bloop123 · 08/08/2025 08:52

Well that’s it for me, confirmed BFN on test day. On to the next round :) I’ll keep following along, hoping for positive outcomes for those who are still waiting! Thanks for all your support xxx

My period has come now so definitely out unfortunately. Im sorry it hasnt worked for you this cycle either and you have friends announcing, that must be so painful, im so very sorry..

Bloop123 · 08/08/2025 10:58

@Miraclemuma03 im sorry to hear that too, sending you lots of hugs, we will get there! Xx

MotherOfShihTzus · 08/08/2025 11:02

So sorry to hear this @Bloop123 and @Miraclemuma03. Take the time you need to process, and when you’re ready, consider next steps. It’s such I hard place to be; I’ve always dealt with it by looking at and planning next steps, but appreciate everyone is different. Let yourselves feel the feelings x

StorkVisit · 08/08/2025 11:09

@Bloop123 and @Miraclemuma03 so sorry you haven’t got the right outcome. I’m rooting for all of you to do well. I know how much everyone has invested in this.
Hope you get to try again soon and you get your positives when you’re ready x

StorkVisit · 08/08/2025 11:11

@Bloop123 if you want to ask any more about Care fertility, I’ll answer whatever you want to know. We didn’t have issues with appointment times/ no info etc.

VioIetMoon · 08/08/2025 12:39

@Bloop123 sorry to hear this. Stay strong. It's a rough ride but please keep believing. Eventually that little miracle is going to come along. Holding onto hope is the one thing that kept me sane over all the years

DeeKel · 08/08/2025 13:58

@Bloop123 and @Miraclemuma03 im so sorry about your results. It’s such a rotten process and there is no sense or sense in it. Feel everything you need to feel, I definitely think we grieve each one of those embryos and the dreams we based off them. Thinking of you both. Do something nice for ourselves as you have put every part of yourself under so much stress. Sending hugs x

I’m 9dp 5dt. Just started spotting brown blood. Hoping it’s not all over but not taking this as a good sign. :-(

Miraclemuma03 · 08/08/2025 22:18

@StorkVisit i really hope its not the end for you and its just a bit of spotting from implantation.

DeeKel · 09/08/2025 09:28

@StorkVisit I’m so sorry I hope it’s something innocent. Brown blood is old blood so could be from implantation. I completely understand the worry and upset it brings.
