I’m currently on 4dp5dt and trying to keep myself busy and not thinking about symptom spotting but it’s hard.
in the past I’ve tested on day 5 but feeling nervous about it as I feel like I have absolutely no symptoms other than being tired and cranky but don’t think I can blame that on IVF 😅

Hey @FrostedFlake congrats on having your transfer! I’m currently 2dp5dt and losing my mind with symptom spotting too! I’m having some light cramps, but I had them with my two previous transfers which failed, so I’m trying really hard not to read anything into them…
How are you feeling? Do you think you’ll test tomorrow?

My first time around we only had one embryo that made it and we had a chemical pregnancy that lasted about 6 weeks which was very heartbreaking and I’m still a little traumatised by it as I’ve had to go into the hospital every second day to get my bloods done and the dreaded HCG calls.

Thankfully we had a little miracle baby ❤️doing our second round of IVF as we only had two eggs that fertilised and both of them made it to day 5 and even the embryologist had not been optimistic in the first few days.

I’m so sorry to hear about your previous losses. It’s so heartbreaking going through this for it not to work. Have they changed anything in your protocol?

I've always tested on day 5 but I’m a bit scared about tomorrow, as I’m really not feeling anything other than the pain from Lubion injections 😅 what about you? Will you be testing early?

OP posts:
Sunnydaysahead1 · 23/01/2025 23:43

Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your chemical, that must have been so difficult. But that’s wonderful you got your miracle baby! ❤️

This time I’m doing a fully medicated round whereas previously I’d done modified natural rounds, and this time my lining is much thicker so that’s something. Sadly our planned embryo didn’t survive the thaw this time which wasn’t a great start, but we had one final embryo (made from my wife’s eggs) which did thaw luckily. Are you doing medicated too?

I really feel you with being scared to test. I’m actually going to wait until next Friday to test, as I’ve got a day off work that day and I need to be quite emotionally resilient for my job, so I don’t feel I can risk doing a test on a day when I’ve got work as I don’t have much hope at the moment. If you decide to test I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for you!! 🤞🏼
I think it can be really normal not to get any symptoms, lots of people still have success 🤞🏼

Rettafun · 24/01/2025 23:02

Heyy guys I'm trying to stay positive after my first FET, but it's been tough. Our initial round was a complete disappointment, and we didn’t end up with any embryos to freeze or transfer. Now, I'm three days past the FET, and as I read about others who have had positive outcomes, I can’t help but feel a bit down since I haven’t experienced those same signs.
I’ve been having symptoms like sore breasts, electric twinges on my side, and I’m getting hot easily, along with some serious reflux. Which are usually signs that my period is on the way, likely exacerbated by the progesterone I'm taking.
Today, I took a pregnancy test, and for a moment, I thought I saw the faintest line. But when I checked again later, the stupid evaporation line was there ( sometimes I hate clear blue). I realize it’s still early, but I was really hoping for some good news. Honestly, I can’t shake the feeling that it didn’t work, and it’s leaving me feeling really sad and overwhelmed. My emotions are all over the place—I usually handle things better, but these hormones are making it hard.sorry to unload like this I just needed to express this somewhere since most people around me don’t understand what I’m going through.

Sunnydaysahead1 · 25/01/2025 09:44

Hey @Rettafun oh I sooo totally get you with how hard it is to feel positive, I am right there with you. Honestly, 3 days past transfer is definitely too early to test, there’s still lots of hope that you will still get your positive! Your little embryo is hopefully still in process of implanting, so it won’t have had a chance to release much hcg to be picked up by a pregnancy test yet.

I really know that horrible feeling of feeling it hasn’t worked though, so please know you’re not alone in that. I’m 4 days past transfer now and have come down with a really horrible flu and I’m feeling awful, so I’m worried this might affect the transfer.

I think all we can do at the moment is take it a day at a time, especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Can you do something nice for yourself this weekend? Wishing you the best of luck and sending you love!

Hi all,can I join?

Hope everyone is doing ok? I had my first FET yesterday. My clinic have said OTD is 08/02 but I defo won’t wait that long 😂

I found this image of the development of the embryo really helpful, which seems to suggest that day 6 is the very first day that realistically you can test.

What Happens Day-by-Day After an Embryo Transfer

The waiting period after an embryo transfer can feel excruciatingly long. Here, we break down the process of embryo implantation day by day.

Wondering if I could jump on here too! I’m currently 8dp5dt. It’s a fresh cycle and my first ever. I’ve been TTC for around 2.5 years and had a miscarriage and chemical.

My OTD is Friday. Very nearly caved yesterday and tested but my partner stopped me! I found the first weeks wait ok but now that I know the test would probably be accurate I’m feeling far more anxious.

How are you all doing?! Sending lots of well wishes xxx

FrostedFlake · 28/01/2025 13:47

@Sunnydaysahead1 I’m so sorry to hear that the embryo didn’t make it through the thawing process, but I’m so glad that you still had one that you could use ❤️ do you think you will still be testing on Friday? When’s your official test date? How are you feeling?

Ive caved in and decided to test at 5dp5dt and I’m at 8dp5dt now and worried that the tests aren’t really getting darker and are very light when I read them within the 3 - 5 minute window they suggest. I used to use first response tests in the past but can’t find them anywhere so decided to go for the only other pink test dye available and they are from boots and not sure what their accuracy is like.

OP posts:
FrostedFlake · 28/01/2025 13:54

@Rettafun awh, that’s tough! We also didn’t have anything to freeze from our first round and it’s so hard having to go through the whole process again. Glad to hear that you are now able to do a FET, but please don’t worry about getting a negative or an Evap at 3dp as it’s too early. I think some people see a line at about 5dp. Was it a 5day embryo? I dont use clear blue as I feel like they are so unreliable but it seems most tests can be. How are you feeling now? Did you test again?

@Cosyseason1234 how are you doing? When do you think you’ll test? I can never wait until the OTD 😅

@daisyjones03 oh we must of had collection on the same day! I’m also 8dp5dt and have already tested multiple times 😩 and now I think the line isn’t progressing as it should but maybe it’s my post chemical PTSD 🥹 how are you feeling? Have you tested? My OTD is not until the 2nd of Feb so I defo couldn’t wait that long

OP posts:
daisyjones03 · 28/01/2025 19:41

@FrostedFlake ohhhhh I’m so sorry to hear about the chemical PTSD - I know the feeling! But if you have a positive line to begin with then that’s fab and something to hold on to!

I’ve not tested yet. Been feeling progesterone symptoms like very sore boobs and sometimes feel nauseous but think that’s all down to the progesterone rather than anything else. Yesterday thought I felt period pains but today have been fine.

how’ve you been feeling?! You doing anything in particular to take your mind off things?

Ginny91 · 28/01/2025 20:26

Heyy all, can I join? My first FET was today after IVF in November, and OTD will be on the 8th same as you @Cosyseason1234 - thanks for the link too! its good to be able to try and understand what processes are happening..

Elena3 · 28/01/2025 20:55

Hello ladies, joining the thread of hopefullness :D had my first frozen transfer yesterday (5 days blastocyst ) and joining in today <3 My test date is 7th February, but I will definitely test earlier knowing myself. I have some very mild cramping today, but this could be anything.

@Ginny91 i don’t know why my clinic leave it 15 days! I tested this morning and got a faint positive at 5dp5dt 🥹❤️ very aware that anything could happen and it’s still very early but going to test again tomorrow.

how is everyone?

FrostedFlake · 29/01/2025 07:50

@Cosyseason1234 oh that’s such great news!!! Congrats ❤️☺️

I’m 9dp5dt and I’m worried that the line isn’t getting darker. Has anyone had a light positive within the test window for it to get much darker after it dries down? It happens everyday I test.
the image attached is at 9dp5dt and seems very light? Surely at this stage it should be quite dark within the 2-5 minute window after testing.
I also think yesterdays test is darker than todays and it doesn’t seem that the line isn’t getting doubling in darkness either 😩
what do you guys think?

@Cosyseason1234 15 days is longgg I feel for you! But glad to hear youre getting something on the tests :)

@FrostedFlake I'm new to this but your day9 line looks v clear and solid to me! Crossing fingers x

And yeah feeling ok thanks just painfully aware of how slow the last 24hrs has been 😂Im going to aim to hold out but who knows once I get into next week. I also am planning to go to cornwall on my OTD to see a friend, she knows i've had the FET but our other friend who's driving me down doesn't, its on my mind a bit about how I will be feeling, but I don't want to cancel. Plans vs IVF strikes again.

Elena3 · 29/01/2025 08:27

@FrostedFlake Looks like a clear line to me! :) x But I am not experienced with those either.

My clinic told me to test 7th February, but I will definitely do a test this Sunday :) At the moment I dont really have any symptoms, but it would be too early for those I assume.

@FrostedFlake thank you ❤️

I think your tests look great,if you had done today as your first test day you would be over the moon with that? 100% get you protecting your heart but it’s still very early days and those lines are good!

Try not to overthink (she says as she orders early response tests from Amazon) 🤣 xx

Cosyseason1234 · 29/01/2025 09:37

@Ginny91 i think being by the sea will be amazing for you whatever the result 🌊 I’ve booked a little cottage for next weekend, lots of walks and headspace 🧘‍♀️ xx

daisyjones03 · 29/01/2025 10:16

@FrostedFlake your 8 and 9 day tests look darker than your 7 day one IMO. It looks promising, have all my fingers crossed for you! I think I may end up caving when I get back from work today. Is it stupid to do the test in the evening?!

@Ginny91 - Cornwall sounds like a great idea. I wish I’d gone somewhere exciting this week, feel as though it might have helped the anxiety!

@Cosyseason1234 my clinic asks to leave it 16 days ☹️ congrats on your positive result! I hope it’s given you some comfort 🫶

Rettafun · 29/01/2025 10:58

Heyy guys hoping everyone is staying positive during their wait

@FrostedFlake I tested again on 5dp5dt I could swear I saw a faint line , or maybe I have line eyes(picture posted) but then evaporation line showed up again. So I have stop testing and kind of counted myself out for this round. Just waiting until Sunday to do my official test and contact the clinic on when I can do another transfer.

your lines are looking stronger I wouldn’t worry to much. Try taking a digital now to see if it will come out positive.

@Sunnydaysahead1 how are you feeling now, hope you are better?

can I ask what are some good folic acid pills that everyone is taking

2WW anyone want to join?
Sunnydaysahead1 · 29/01/2025 11:26

Welcome everyone new ❤️ I hope you’re all doing ok so far!

@FrostedFlake a tentative congratulations!! I think those lines look great! Although I’ve personally never seen a second line so even a faint one would look great to me at this point 😂 I’m feeling v hopeful for you! How are you feeling?

@Rettafun 5dp is still early, but I really understand needing to protect your heart. I’ll still keep my fingers crossed for you. For folic acid I used Ovum supplements, which has it in the form of folate. They’re really expensive annoyingly, but they have pretty much everything recommended in the ‘It starts with the egg’ book so for me I felt it was worth it. They also contain CoQ10 which is meant to be good for egg health, but I’ve read conflicting info about whether it’s good for embryos so after my transfer I switched to Wild Nutrition fertility support.

I’ve had THE worst flu this week!! 😭 I’ve been so gutted, it started literally 3 days after my transfer, and I’ve had high fevers and barely been able to eat. So I have very little hope left that this transfer will have worked. I’d planned to be so healthy and do all the right things but all I’ve been able to do is lie in bed. My OTD is Sunday but going to test on Friday… 🙏🏼
I had quite bad period pains a few days ago which then stopped, but they came back again last night (7dp5dt) is that a bad sign do you think??

daisyjones03 · 29/01/2025 16:54

@Rettafun 5dp is a bit early but I understand it must feel heart breaking. If you can bear it try wait till past 10dp so you can get a more accurate read. I’ll be praying for you!

@Sunnydaysahead1 im so sorry to hear about your fever. Terrible timing! But our bodies are resilient so who knows! I hope you start feeling better soon. I think the period pains could have been other things so I don’t think it’s necessarily bad news. Keep us updated - all fingers crossed for you!

Ginny91 · 29/01/2025 17:53

Thanks @Cosyseason1234 & @daisyjones03 you're both right, the sea is a great healer whichever the outcome!

@Sunnydaysahead1 oh noo sorry you've been so ill :( hope you recover soon and it wouldve made you feel lousy but no reason in my book to have affected your implantation? still crossing fingers.

@Rettafun Still early for sure but hope you're alright. For folic acid; I'm just on the pregnacare "before conception" ones once a day they seem good, easy to get hold of at boots and the clinic said they were alright too

LAB90210 · 29/01/2025 19:30

HI everyone, i hope it’s okay to jump on here 😃
I’m hoping you are all feeling as okay as possible during the wait.

My transfer was just on Monday, and I’ve felt cramping since, very much feels as if it’s period cramp. Feels really as if my period is going to start. I was wondering if any of you were similar and having quite a lot of cramps? Xx
