Oh @PurpleRayne89 I'm pleased you have an answer as it must be terrible waiting in limbo but so sorry it's one that has caused more worry and decisions to make. It feels like ivf is one giant game of snakes and ladders and you just never know what is round the corner. I'm with you completely on the difficulty in making a decision. I would be exactly the same. Have you been signposted to ARC- there is a ton of information on there. It's such a hugely personal decision with so much to consider so whatever you decide will be the right decision for you. I suppose there is also the option of waiting until your anomaly scan to see what that shows in terms of associated conditions such as heart issues. I hope you have lots of support round you and the you and your partner feel able to make a decision without pressure either way. If you feel able to please keep me updated. Sending you gentle hugs xx

@teampacey Thank you. I will keep you posted ☺️

Hi, sorry to jump on here, I was just reading through lots of threads and came across your story, I am so sorry you are going through this really tough time .. I hope you don’t mind me asking but did you receive a test at your 12 weeks scan at all which tests for downs etc ? Was this something that could have been missed or flagged up then or did you opt to not get this ? Sorry for asking as I am aware this is so sensitive and will such a tricky situation to talk about. 😞 I am just wondering as currently waiting on embryos we created being PGTa tested and wondering if the 12 weeks scan testing can miss this could the PGTA miss this kind of thing? Had 6 miscarriages so that’s the reason for our testing as thinking we could have abnormal chromosomes? Thanks so much and sorry again for asking I hope you don’t mind. ❤️

PurpleRayne89 · 19/12/2024 18:51

@hopefullsosbry It can be missed but usually there are markers on the 12 weeks scan. Also, bloods may be a bio marker. If you’re having your embryos tested. This should rule out any abnormalities, including DS so I wouldn’t worry. I’m am sure your cycle will turn out well and you won’t experience the same as me. My experience is just unfortunate to say the least. Thanks for reaching out. If you have any other questions, please let me know x

teampacey · 20/12/2024 07:11

How are you doing @PurpleRayne89?

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 20/12/2024 08:34

@teampacey Not bad. We had a cardiac scan yesterday which didn’t show any issues. We have another scan for autonomy early Jan to check for possible health issues. However, this still won’t tell us much about intellectual disability. I still don’t know where we’re going with this but we need to make a decision fairly quickly.

hopefullsosbry · 21/12/2024 10:57

@PurpleRayne89 thank you so much for the reply, i really appreciate this! I hope you can have some peace with this over Xmas until your scan in January, you and your partner will both know at the time what the right decision is that is best for you, 🧡

teampacey · 12/01/2025 19:50

How is everyone doing? I'm 18+1 now and have a big bump! Packed away my normal clothes this weekend and now have a wardrobe full of maternity wear. Have bought a couple of babygros and a next to me crib but that's it so far. Need to start thinking about a pram etc. I'm in no rush though. Our 4th bedroom is currently my office and I don't think we'll properly do it out as a nursery until baby is 6 months old.

@PurpleRayne89 how are you? I hope the above isn't insensitive and that you are doing ok

Hey Everyone.

I'm doing ok I found out I was has having a boy at 15 weeks. My 20 week scan is Friday.

Feeling huge xxx

Mochistory · 12/01/2025 20:19

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing well. We are also having a boy! 18+4 weeks today. Heart is very full, and starting to think about prams, cribs and maternity clothes. Not too big yet. Some of it still fits me.
Sending love to all.

PurpleRayne89 · 12/01/2025 20:24

@teampacey Not insensitive at all. We should celebrate successful pregnancies. I had a termination last Sunday. She was beautiful. Her funeral is in 2 weeks when we will say goodbye.

xMrsxHx87x · 12/01/2025 21:46

Hi everyone, nice to hear updates from people! I'm 18+5 now based on my revised EDD; got a noticeable bump and I can no longer wear jeans, but I think anyone with an untrained eye would just assume I hit the Christmas snacks hard 😂 Still got to wait until 24th for my 20 week scan, feels like so long away. I don't intend to find out the sex though! And I'm holding off planning purchases until I get the all clear from the scan that everything is developing as it should. Pretty certain I can feel movement though so hopefully all is fine - at first I thought it was just gas, but every evening after dinner I get the same fluttering sensation in my lower abdomen and it lasts about an hour.

@PurpleRayne89 I hope you're doing OK after your termination. I'm so glad you were able to spend time with her and that you're able to have a funeral to say your goodbyes xx

PurpleRayne89 · 12/01/2025 21:49

@xMrsxHx87x Thank you and me too. I’m happy most of the pregnancies from this group are working out. Those that didn’t, I hope the next does if that’s what they decide they want.

I wish all of you the best with your pregnancies and being mummies ❤️❤️

Sierra26 · 13/01/2025 10:18

Hi all, good to hear your updates.

@PurpleRayne89 im so sorry to hear about your termination. Hope you’re managing to prioritise your physical and mental recovery ❤️ and thank you for still somehow managing to be there for all of us.

@teampacey i too have packed away all my clothes that won’t fit for ages! I don’t have much of a bump but I’m generally just bigger and rounder 😂

@xMrsxHx87x sounds like you might be feeling movements! Mine is defs more active after a meal 😂 Not long until your 20wk scan, so exciting.

@Mochistory @Natasha90 congrats on your boys!

I started feeling movement on Christmas Day at 18wks. But I didn’t feel any of the swooshing or butterflies, went straight to little prods which were like very localised pings or muscle spasms. After a couple of days I could feel them from the outside with my hand, and a few days later could see them! I have an anterior placenta so think that’s why the general rolling movements are more muffled, but I do think I’ve started to feel those now too. Feels almost like a pulse through my whole tummy.

Had our 20wk scan last week and all looked fine. Was fascinating to know where baby was while they were scanning, it started off in one place and was shuffling away from the ultrasound wand so ended up in a different spot. But it’s pretty much transverse with head slightly down, with legs at the area I’m feeling all the pokes which makes sense. We know what we’re having but not telling anyone, it’s hard as I’m asked about 10x per day 😂

i don’t have much of a bump yet but if you see me after dinner I look huge 😂

I still feel like I’m living in a dream world after years of disappointment. I suddenly feel so much more connected to our baby, seeing it grow on scans and feeling it move is magical. I’m not taking a second of this for granted ❤️

PurpleRayne89 · 13/01/2025 16:46

@Sierra26 Thank you for your kindness. The ugliness of my situation doesn’t mean yours is any less beautiful. I think it actually makes it even more special in a way.

teampacey · 13/01/2025 19:06

@PurpleRayne89 thank you for sharing your update with us. I'm glad you were able to make a decision which was the right for you and your family. I hope you are receiving plenty of support and have been able to make some beautiful memories with your little girl. I bet she was just beautiful. Did you decide on a name for her? If you wish to share I would love to know. Sending you much love and gentle healing. I don't know if it is helpful at all but I always think that babies that don't know life outside the womb have only known love and warmth, you took the pain and heartbreak so she never had to feel any of that.

teampacey · 13/01/2025 19:09

It's lovely to hear everyone's updates! Congrats to everyone. Seems like we have a fair few on team boy! Has anyone got a name? We have as we've known since 7 weeks that we're having a boy. He will be called Otis 💙

@xMrsxHx87x I think you are having a girl and @Sierra26 my initial thought was boy but I'm not 100% sure on that guess!

I'm glad I'm not the only one packing away normal clothes. I have a huge bump, it's very obvious that I'm pregnant now! It is number 3 for me though so doubt I have any abdominal muscles left to hold it in!

OP posts:
xMrsxHx87x · 13/01/2025 19:19

@teampacey DH is also convinced it's a girl! I'm not sure though, and I keep getting different guesses from people, all based on contradictory things. For example, I had barely any morning sickness, so all my friends who had boys and no sickness have said it's definitely a boy. But then I have two friends who had boys and had hyperemesis, who have said that because I've not been sick that it must be a girl 😂 I honestly don't mind either way though. My only issue is I have a boy's name which I absolutely love and no girls' names whatsoever, so I need to get some girly ones in the pipeline too! Love the name Otis.

Mochistory · 13/01/2025 19:59

That's so funny. I had terrible morning (all day actually) sickness with my boy. His name is Oliver!
I don't think there's an actual correlation. But apparently there's a slightly bigger chance of boys with IVF, I think?

xMrsxHx87x · 13/01/2025 21:20

@Mochistory most of the IVF babies I know were girls 😂

I properly felt the first kicks tonight! I ate my tea as normal then sure enough, along came the fluttering sensation around half an hour later. And there were about 6 little but distinctive thuds, all in the same place over a 10 minute period.

PinaColadaJ · 14/01/2025 16:42

Hi ladies, thank you for setting up this group. I’m late to the party here but currently 17+4 following a transfer on the 30th Sept. After 5 and a half years TTC, including two early miscarriages, I’m still feeling anxious & not taking anything for granted so it’s really nice to stumble across a supportive group.

@PurpleRayne89 I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and in absolute awe of the grace with which you have handled it on this thread. Please look after yourself. I’m sending you very best wishes for the future.

PurpleRayne89 · 14/01/2025 20:02

Thank you @PinaColadaJ ❤️

Sierra26 · 23/01/2025 21:47

How is everyone? I had 22wk obstetrician appt today. I had no idea what it was for, and all they covered was that they will want to induce me at 40wks due to IVF (said there is some evidence that ivf placentas reduce in function after 40wks?). Talked me through balloon and manually breaking waters.

I really don’t want this 😫 so I need to do some more research to understand the risks and options. If I’d known this was going to be discussed I’d have prepared more questions.

Anyone else been told this?

Mochistory · 24/01/2025 01:00

I was told that they don't let IVF pregnancies go beyond 40 weeks by my fertility doctor. But he said cesarian rather than inducing... I'll discuss with the obstetrician a bit further along (I think around week 30). It all sounds terrifying right?

Sierra26 · 24/01/2025 09:07

Thanks @Mochistory . After some thinking last night, I did wonder if booking elective c-section for eg 40+1 might be a better backstop. And hopefully go naturally before then!

No ok me has asked us about birth plan before this so I felt unprepared to discuss it. Plenty time to do that though…
