I hope you are all doing ok. I’m having a hard time. I have hypermesis and have been so unwell. I was in the hospital yesterday for an IV. Absolute nightmare.

teampacey · 07/11/2024 17:51

Ahhhh @PurpleRayne89 that's really tough. How many weeks are you now? Hope it starts to ease a bit for you soon

@teampacey I am 9+1 right now. It’s rough! Thanks ☺️

xMrsxHx87x · 07/11/2024 19:37

@YellowTack sorry to hear you're still going through such a difficult time. Best of luck for tomorrow, and I hope it helps you to process and grieve. Thinking of you.

xMrsxHx87x · 07/11/2024 19:50

@Sierra26 I'm feeling ok generally. Since stopping the pessaries a week ago my bloating has become much controlled, and the cramping has settled down a little too. Previously I felt like I had constant, and at times severe, period pain. It was manageable but uncomfortable.

My midwife finally reached out to me tonight. My booking appointment isn't until next Friday, 15th November, by which point I'll be 10 weeks exactly. I'm hoping to get some idea then as to when the scan will be, though I am considering booking a private scan little earlier for some reassurance too. I currently don't feel especially pregnant. I get nausea, but it's not severe like what @PurpleRayne89 is going through, and normally passes after eating. My belly is definitely slowly getting bigger (I've been documenting with photos) but I still think it's mostly just gas! Is anyone else currently pretty symptomless?

@teampacey I had to admit to a friend a couple of weeks ago that I was pregnant because I was at her wedding so it would have been so obvious anyway if I just drank lime and soda all night. She was great and put a bottle of alcohol free fizz on my table in an ice bucket, so everyone else just thought I preferred prosecco to the table wine! And the venue did great mocktails. Nobody else had a clue. Though some of them may have been critical if they spotted me driving home after!

Sierra26 · 10/11/2024 21:30

@xMrsxHx87x that’s good you finally got the appt through (same day as my 12 wk scan!), hopefully they’ll give you a scan date at the same time. Did you decide about booking a private one in meantime? Good you’re feeling better than before, especially with the cramps having settled.

My tummy area is definitely feeling fuller but it might just be due to eating more and exercising less. I’ve tried to ‘feel’ for my uterus externally but it all feels the same to me 😂 I’ve read that around this time it’s meant to start rising above the pubic bone. I’m so excited to start feeling more pregnant.

@PurpleRayne89 hope you’re feeling better after your IV! Is it fluids and electrolytes they give you?

Sierra26 · 10/11/2024 21:30

@YellowTack thinking of you ❤️ and hoping you are recovering okay after the surgery xx

YellowTack · 10/11/2024 21:36

Thank you all, the surgery went well and I am now recovering, and I feel okay physically.

I am glad I decided to go ahead with the surgery as it was not too traumatic, less than going through it on my own at home.

I should have an appointment with my clinic in a few weeks to discuss the next steps, I really hope I can do another cycle at the beginning of next year once my body is healed.

PurpleRayne89 · 11/11/2024 08:22

@Sierra26 it is electrolytes in the fluids. I’m still the same. The IV only rehydrates me and the anti sickness will only work for a short periods, sometimes not at all. It’s honestly torture. I’ve called my GP this morning to request 2 weeks off. I honestly need some rest. I hope you are doing ok. Not caught up on things as I’ve been quite unwell.

teampacey · 12/11/2024 08:27

Hi everyone!

@YellowTack I'm glad it's over and all went well, wishing you the best recovery and so much luck for the new year and your next cycle.

@PurpleRayne89 you poor thing, it's really tough. Hope you start to feel better soon.

@Sierra26 not long now til your scan! So exciting! The uterus can usually be felt above the pubic bone after 12 weeks- it's not easy to do on yourself but feels like a hard ridge. If you try to palpate downwards so hand horizontal and facing palm down and move down your abdomen with the edge of your hand pressing down sometimes you can feel it.
I'm also very bloated, don't like wearing clothes that press on my tummy as it makes me feel sick! It won't be long til we have our bumps though.

@xMrsxHx87x yay for finally getting your booking appointment! Hopefully you will get your scan date then or soon after. I have the badger notes ap and my scan date was on there the day after my booking appointment. It just depends how they do it at your trust.
That was so nice of your friend to do that at her wedding!

Yesterday I had no sickness and felt amazing but also anxious that I didn't feel sick. Typically I have woken up this morning with some of the worst sickness I've had this pregnancy 🤣
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and my dating scan is 6/12 so another 3 weeks but we have had 3 early ones (2 at EPAU and 1 private). All was good at those but it's such a worry as soon as you walk out the scan room! I can't wait til I can start feeling movements.

We had an exciting few days. We told my parents on Saturday night. They were completely shocked as they had no idea we had been trying or that my husband had had his vasectomy reversed. My dad started crying and then so did my husband, he was really emotional and said he was desperate for it to happen for us and was worried it was going to with it having taken so long. My parents are over the moon. Obviously they are grandparents already to my older two and are really close but my first marriage was not a pleasant one and they are so happy to see me having a baby with a wonderful, supportive partner.

Our second exciting news is that I had the sneak peek blood test and we got the results yesterday! I was supposed to be waiting to open the email on my birthday but I couldn't wait so we did it last night. We are having a little boy!!! It's so strange as all along I have imagined a little girl so now having to reimagine things in my mind! We didn't mind either way but my husband was definitely very happy to have a boy!

Oh I’m sorry you’ve had to have the surgery! I haven’t been keeping an eye on this really but get the odd notification. Hope you’re doing ok. Get a good tonic and the proceive conception to help build your body back up in preparation for another transfer. I also ended up having an emergency d&c last Monday as I ended up hemeorraging, very traumatic but doing ok now! Really hoping they were able to get some tissue to test in pathology to get an idea of what is going on. The hospital is taking me back in for testing in a few weeks, they are been extremely helpful but I would say that’s because they are somewhat at fault after sending me home and I nearly went septic only my GP caught it 🙈

Hope everyone doing ok, I see some suffering badly with sickness. Can yous get cariban? I know my friend was on it there for her first trimester as she was extremely sick aswell and it helped a good bit!

@teampacey congrats on your wee boy ☺️

teampacey · 12/11/2024 08:56

Omg @Daniki you poor thing. Thank goodness for your GP! I really hope they can give you some answers soon and that you're now recovering ok. Take it easy, this must have hugely taken it out of you.

And thank you 💙

Good to hear from @YellowTack and @Daniki. I hope you're both being well looked after and that you're finding time to grieve your losses.

@teampacey that all sounds lovely with your family, and congratulations on your boy! I don't intend to find out, though my husband is desperate to know. I've told him that it's my body doing all the work so it's my choice!

How is everyone doing symptom wise? Has your sickness died down yet @PurpleRayne89? My nausea seems to have stopped now, I haven't had any noticeable feelings of sickness since Saturday. I just feel exhausted and still so bloated and gassy. I haven't had any spotting at all since the ET, but this morning I had what I'd describe as light pink discharge. Only with one wipe, and a little in my underwear. That was around 8am and there's been nothing since. I immediately panicked when I saw it, but I wouldn't describe it as spotting as it was closer to white than red, and as my day at work went on I largely forgot about it. Has anyone else experienced this and know what it might mean? A Google search hasn't helped answer any questions I have!

PurpleRayne89 · 12/11/2024 18:13

@xMrsxHx87x my sickness is still the same. I get some periods of relief but it sort of makes up for itself later on. In the last hour, I’ve been sick 5 times and I am currently in bed. I’ve read pregnancy symptoms come and go. The only symptom I have is the sickness, my sore boobs and back have all disappeared. Regarding the pink CM, I wouldn’t say it is anything to worry about especially if you’re on pessaries as they can irritate your cervix. If you’re worried, let your local EPU know and they can do and scan to see if there is any bleeding around the GS.

xMrsxHx87x · 12/11/2024 18:43

@PurpleRayne89 5 times in an hour?! I don't think I've been sick 5 times in the past year. That sounds horrendous. Are you still off work? You mustn't be able to get anything done. Really hope it gets better for you soon.

PurpleRayne89 · 12/11/2024 18:45

@xMrsxHx87x it is torture. I’ve been signed off for 2 weeks and then I have a week leave off the back of that so I don’t return until beginning of December. Every morning getting ready for work was awful, throwing up before and after the shower and feeling sick on the drive in. I’m just glad I’m not there but I’m sure my manager isn’t happy at all. I’m hoping it improves in my second trimester.

Sierra26 · 12/11/2024 21:37

@PurpleRayne89 that sounds awful! Your manager will get over it.. looking after yourself and rest up!

@Daniki so sorry to hear you ended up so unwell! Glad you’re starting to feel better now and fingers crossed you get some answers xx

@xMrsxHx87x I’ve had that milky pink cm a couple of times. A few times earlier on, and then at 9+2/3/4. The later time I think was cervical irritation due to intercourse - although we’ve done it since and haven’t had the same. I used to get some post-intercourse spotting when I was on the pill and only explanation anyone could come up with was that it came from my cervix and that the hormones from the pill were making it more sensitive. Hasn’t happened in years since coming off the pill, and then now a few times during this pregnancy so far. Each time it’s not come to anything, just a few wipes of that milky pink. I had other spotting at points during pregnancy so far - two more period-like wipes at 4-5 weeks which must have been it implanting deeper, but I was terrified and convinced at the time it was my period starting. Then some darker brown at a few points which I can’t explain. Sorry that was a bit of a ramble and I could of course be completely wrong on all my theories! But my point being I’ve seen almost all shades of spotting/cm and all still good so far.

xMrsxHx87x · 13/11/2024 06:22

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about the pink discharge. I haven't had anything else now and it's been almost 24 hours so I'm less concerned than I was yesterday!

Sierra26 · 14/11/2024 07:28

That’s good @xMrsxHx87x !

I’ve reached 12 week milestone, can’t quite believe it! Stopping my FET meds over next few days and I’m a little nervous about it, but I know the science says it’ll be fine. Scan tomorrow!

teampacey · 14/11/2024 13:56

@xMrsxHx87x completely normal, sounds exactly like a little irritation to your cervix! Glad it has stopped now.

Eeeek @Sierra26 12 weeks!!! So exciting! Enjoy your scan tomorrow. I'm so jealous of you stopping meds- I cannot wait to stop these bloody pessaries. Only 20 more days to go!

xMrsxHx87x · 15/11/2024 17:53

How did your scan go @Sierra26? Really hope all was well.

I had my booking appointment today. It was a really bad first experience. I arrived 5 minutes early to the appointment location, which was in the middle of a community centre. No joke, there was a library, a post office, a children in need bake sale - the works! I took a seat next to a sign on a door that said "Midwife appointments please sit here" and waited. I'm feeling quite exposed at this point because I'm in a very public area, and I just so happen to be friends with the manager of the cafe next door, so I'm sat there the whole time praying they don't pop in to the post office for change or something and see me - then my secret would be out!

Anyway, 15 minutes after my appointment was due to start, nobody has come opened the door to collect me. I texted my midwife and asked if she was coming. After which she replied saying she'd been relocated to a nearby doctor's surgery! I had to use Google maps to locate the surgery - fortunately it was only a 5 minute walk away. I arrived at the surgery and waited in line at reception for a good 5 minutes while they dealt with an irate patient. When it was clear the angry patient wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, I texted the midwife AGAIN asking where she was (it was a huge surgery), and she thankfully came to get me. But by this point it was half an hour after my appointment was due to start, so we had to rush through everything.

All in all, not hugely impressed. Let's hope the scan appointment - if I ever find out when it is - goes more smoothly. Speaking of which, for those of you who've had dating scans or have then booked in, how much notice were you given for the appointment? I'm 10 weeks today now so really hoping something comes through soon and that it doesn't end up happening closer to the 14 week mark.

Sierra26 · 15/11/2024 18:19

@xMrsxHx87x omg what a nightmare! Will your future appts be at the hospital? So strange to have had you waiting in such a public place. How was the appt itself? Hope you felt well looked after once you were in there.

My scan appt went well. Drank FAR too much water, arrived early, and they were running behind, so had to do two partial loo trips while waiting. Then they struggled to get the measurements as baby was in funny positions during which time they decided my bladder was still too full so had to go to the bathroom again. Everything seemed to look good, NT measurement was 1.3 (‘low’) so fingers crossed the bloods also look good, should get them back in a few days. The two sonographers running the appt were both lovely and they booked my 20 wk scan in while I was there.

so lesson to others - bladder really doesn’t have to be very full!

@teampacey I weirdly just got used to the pessaries but the injections were getting soo boring!!

xMrsxHx87x · 15/11/2024 18:22

@Sierra26 she's a community midwife so floats around different locations. Allegedly my next appointment will be back in the community centre, but I'll believe it when I see it! It was fine though, just a lot of tests taken and questions asked.

So glad to hear your scan went well. How much notice did you get with the appointment?

Sierra26 · 15/11/2024 19:26

@xMrsxHx87x I got both my booking appt date and 12wk scan date through within a week of one another, quite quickly after I first registered. I’m at one of the biggest hospitals in London though, so sounds like a very different system! Do you know where your scan will be, could you call them direct?

editing to add this was with about 7/8weeks notice
