@hopefullsosbry I hope your trigger went ok last night, and sending you all the luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed it goes well.

@AnnieStar12 yeah so my clinic will do a day 3 update, so that's a bit of a relief I don't have to wait just for day 5. How are you feeling?

@Hollielouise thank you my lovely, I was really bloated and cramping a bit yesterday but seems to be better this morning. How are you feeling? I'm glad the Cabergoline is helping, did they say how long you have to take it for? The idea of a FET group for July/August would be lovely! Although I'm the same as you and don't know when it would be for me. My clinic said as soon as they know how many are being frozen il be booked in for a consultation to go through it all.

2tuxedocats · 26/05/2024 09:30

Hi all, I did my test yesterday and it was a BFN. I was pretty miserable yesterday and to top it off my period arrived 🙈 just to really hammer home that I wasn’t pregnant. We had a long chat last night and although we still have 3 IUI cycles available to us we want to try IVF. I’m 31 with okayish levels of everything so I’d rather try now than carry on with the IUI which so far has taken us 2 years with all the waiting for sperm etc. I’m seeing my NHS consultant on Tuesday so will ask her then. I’ll pop on the group every now and again as I’d like to see how all you wonderful ladies get on but for now I need some time to rest.

HopefulllHolly · 26/05/2024 09:38

@2tuxedocats Oh I’m so sorry it didn’t work out for you this time, and to be hit with your period straight away too, that’s awful. Look after yourself and do lots of lovely things you haven’t been allowed. Sounds like you have a good plan - I’m sure you’ll have success in IVF. Sending you big hugs and positive wishes for you and your partner xxx hope your wedding is wonderful too!

@2tuxedocats sorry to hear about your result! Take some time to rest, relax and recharge . You seem to have a good plan, fingers crossed IVF works for you xx

@AnnieStar12 @PurpleRayne89 you are both brave for testing! I'm so scared to test, I'm avoiding it... I haven't had any symptoms of other than just sore boobs!

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 09:51

@2tuxedocats i am so sorry you have a negative, keep trying and you have time on your side as still young, I am certain you will get there eventually! Sending you lots of big hugs and best wishes for the future .. 💖

@AnnieStar12 @EvaA17 thank you, yes the trigger was without complications .. roll on tomorrow when this is all over ..slightly nervous , but I have had EC before so I know what to expect but still doesn’t take the pre nerves away 😵‍💫

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 09:57

as I had my trigger last night , I am testing it out from today, but my last cycle , I had another shot of ovetrlle (which has HCG) after transfer, I dunno if I get this shot this time round as I get progesterone suppositories, which I didn’t get before , just wondering though those that have had transfer already , did you get a shot of ovetrelle straight after transfer ? I am just thinking no point in testing out if I get more after transfer ?

HopefulllHolly · 26/05/2024 09:59

@hopefullsosbry No I didn’t have a second shot after transfer. No more injections after trigger at all, just the pessaries. 😊

For anyone that didn’t test out trigger .. this is his dark my line.. only 12 hours after (tigger last night 10:15pm and this test was 10am there) I thought it would be a darker line .. 🤷🏼‍♀️might be my tests , just cheap amazon ones.. trasfer on Saturday morning all going well so will see how long it takes to come out my system.. I never tested out my trigger with any of my last 5 transfers from last cycle so I thought I would try it this time …will be interesting to see I think.

PurpleRayne89 · 26/05/2024 10:50

@hopefullsosbry Hey, these tests are awful. I’ve had at least 5 strong BFP from these but I did a FRER and it’s BFN. They’re a bit dodgy. Won’t be using again in future.

AnnieStar12 · 26/05/2024 11:01

@hopefullsosbry wow that’s interesting that it’s already faded quite a lot, what dose was your trigger? I didn’t have a second trigger, I think it’s fairly uncommon but have definitely heard some docs like doing it as I think it helps prepare your body for pregnancy. But annoying you’ll have to test it out all over again!

@PurpleRayne89 are you testing today or skipping a day? In my experience I’ve had more accurate results from the cheap strip tests than the expensive branded tests - I think they can be more sensitive and pick things up earlier 🤷‍♀️

@positivepetal what’s your test plan?

I haven’t tested again since 2dpt as I was so freaked out that so much of the trigger shot was still in my system. I’m just taking each day as it comes and asking myself each morning how will I feel in all outcomes and is it worth testing yet. If I was 100% sure there wasn’t any trigger in my body I’d be testing daily tho.

@2tuxedocats I’m so sorry that this IUI hasn’t worked out. Totally makes sense to move to ivf, defo better chance of success and sounds like you did the full meds for this round of IUI anyway so you might as well do the full retrieval and transfer. Wishing you all the best for that journey xx

positivepetal · 26/05/2024 11:07

@AnnieStar12 I'm going to try and wait until at least 10 dpt... my clinic said to test at d12

AnnieStar12 · 26/05/2024 11:14

@positivepetal sounds sensible to wait if you’ve got the patience! That way there’s no ambiguity. My clinic told me to test at 9dpt, which is Saturday so it’s not actually too long.

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 11:46

@PurpleRayne89 oh thanks for the heads up .. I do have some of the cheap pink ones coming today (they look the same but are pink) are they any better ? Also have 4 FRER but keeping them for 5dpt (if I am lucky to get that far) as I got my postive before at 5dpt.. thought I would just use the cheap ones to test out trigger as could be about ten of them needed ??

@AnnieStar12 My dose was 250 Ovetrelle, this was 2nd morning pee but had a long lye so didn’t eat or drink between my 1st pee which was around 7am this morning but was too half asleep to test then ! 😂

ill just test every day .. I can’t wait 🤯.. av been here to many times now and I just wana know so am not waiting about for two weeks assessing my body and every twing etc wondering am i pregnant😥.. am just going to test out and if no dark lines come with a few days again I’ll know am not .. so I can get ball rolling for next steps .. just how I am feeling this time round .. might be different again next time 🙈 it’s all a mine field to my head !

PurpleRayne89 · 26/05/2024 11:51

@hopefullsosbry If they’re the one step ultra from Amazon. They are notorious for false and convincing positives. Check the 1 start reviews and you will see. FRER is the best bet I think.

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 11:58

These blue tipped tests seeminly detect as low as 10iu HCG ..just checked the description on Amazon .. FRER seeminly as low as 7 HCG from a google search 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I do remember FRER getting a big recall was it last year or 18 month ago thru stopped making them and couldn’t get them in any chemists.. not sure we’re there dodgy ones giving faults results ? But can buy them again on Amazon so you don’t know are they fakes on Amazon ? Have the company actually started making them again ?

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 12:00

@PurpleRayne89 the one I tested is a one step .. and the ones I ordered is ‘easy@home’ they arrive today .. ah ok that’s rubbish I didn’t read the reviews ! 🙈I’ll just use them fur trigger testing, thanks

PurpleRayne89 · 26/05/2024 12:01

@hopefullsosbry I wasn’t aware of the recall on FRER do can’t really answer the question. I got mine on Amazon. Haven’t seen them in store.

HopefulllHolly · 26/05/2024 12:14

@hopefullsosbry My FRER are off Amazon and definitely work as they should do. I used the Wondfo 10miu strips also from Amazon and they’ve also been accurate. I’m definitely pregnant and didn’t get any false positives with either and I’ve used a lot of them over the years 🤣🤣

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 26/05/2024 12:22

@HopefulllHolly Thanks, I think the FRER recall was mainly USA based not Europe. I’ve always found FRER reliable and I’ll continue to use them to confirm results from other tests. They’ve never let me know. The one step on the other hand, not so much.

AnnieStar12 · 26/05/2024 12:26

I use easy @ home and find then reliable and you can buy a big box for a tenner. They are pink dye.

hopefullsosbry · 26/05/2024 12:29

@HopefulllHolly thanks, av just been reading up and the wondfo seems to be realible also, I think I’ll order these thanks , 🙏 yeh I have used FRER also without any problems but I do remember a thing a few years ago where some people were saying they had issues, not sure if this was just US?
there’s a thread I was reading https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/conception/4866737-where-do-you-buy-first-response
there is conflicting comments as to wherever it was due to false positives , just one batch or a different reason but there is definitely less stock product now as can’t buy in any shops ? And I use to buy in my chemist all the time. someone shared the Amazon emailed saying it was recalled on that thread, Strange who knows .. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where do you buy First Response? | Mumsnet

Hi, I want to buy some First Response Early Results tests but every shop I look in just has ClearBlue or own brands. Have looked in Boots, Superdrug (...

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/conception/4866737-where-do-you-buy-first-response

HopefulllHolly · 26/05/2024 12:39

@hopefullsosbry Hmm interesting! Well mine have definitely been accurate. I bought loads and they’ve gotten darker in line with the other ones. I did one a few days ago and the control line is non-existent now, so I trust them! I think it’s when you are testing very early and getting false positives that it’s causing stress for people because of the indent lines. I used the wondfo and then when I had a good positive I ordered FRER and got a good positive I wasn’t in any doubt about. Personally I think the clear blue ones with the blue plus sign are the worst on the market, I had MANY convincing lines on those which were dye runs, I’ve never had a false positive with the FRER at all. See how you get on with the Wondfo ones anyway 😊 here’s my line from 5dp5dt on them and the FRER

@HopefulllHolly yeh I agree , my experience with clear blue has been pretty much the same with dye lines etc .. really hard to read .. thank so much will defo be using the FRER later after transfers (again if I am lucky to get there) thanks for sharing your test pics .. defo similar line darkness from both ! 🤩So exciting .. how are you feeling now ? Hopefully you are not to sore etc ? How long until your scan ?

HopefulllHolly · 26/05/2024 12:55

Here’s the one from a few days ago too. Thanks for asking - I feel ok! Starving hungry in the middle of the night now, insomnia, nausea, bad headache yesterday and very very tired. But other than that I’m ok 😊 only had very minor cramping (but I have horrendous period pain usually so anything would pale in comparison). Scan is in a week and 4 days, literally counting down the days to have it! Roll on Thursday and then it’s a week left which feels more manageable. I hope it’s all ok in there, I feel like with my symptoms and strong tests it’s hopefully growing away. If it all goes to plan my due date will be our 7 year anniversary so that would be amazing. 🥹 Hopefully after the 7 week scan I’ll feel a bit less anxious and then I’m planning on getting a private scan at 9/10 weeks to tie us over to the 12 week one. The wait for the scan is definitely the bit I’ve found the hardest of the whole IVF process, which I hadn’t even thought about or considered before (mainly as we had such terrible odds that I didn’t think we’d even get to a positive test) 🥹
