Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@SlinkMcSlink yes I’m also having the sh*ts if that’s what you’re asking. I expect to have it the whole process as I know the cyclogest sets off as do iron pills. I’ve bought aloe Vera toilet paper in preparation. 😂

Yes I've had my IM decapeptyl from the clinic on 20th which is the downregulation for the long protocol and due to start 5th July if all goes to plan. They have me on the pill to control my period and because I'd had the previous decepeptyl from the cancelled cycle to make sure I didn't start my period early when that wore off!

@CakePigeon30 Cetrotide is used on day 6 in the morning before meriofert in the evening. It’s to prevent premature ovulation apparently!

@SamVan i basically have a constant ‘aura’ around me, and when progesterone starts it ramps up a 100 degrees 😂 so yeah if the partners love us now, we’re set for life. How are you getting on bae shitting your pants?

@HighflyingUnicorn im on 3 x progesterone a day too - think it’s cuz of my pcos with no periods, so progesterone will be really low hence the 3 a day. So it’s probably based on your medical history?

Day two of stims down - more painful today possible due to alcohol swab?! The hospital didn’t give me any swabs but the online videos suggest we should use one so I got one from my phone protector kit. Seems to be made of the same super alcoholic stuff. Does anyone know when we start to feel like something is happening after the stims? So far I feel nothing I just hope thrh are growing up in there.

@SamVan my clinic said not to use the alcohol swab as it makes it sting and can make your skin sore
She said if I wanted to I could just use water to wipe the area to be injected - think I did it twice and then just didn’t bother 😬

I felt nothing really during stims, maybe slightly bloaty toward the end but nothing internal shall we say.
EC was a whole different ball game however

@SamVan i am the same as @FlutteryButtery2 i didn’t bother doing anything - no wipes, Ice or anything, just did them and found it okay. But that was epi pen last time. Might be a different ballgame this time as o recall when I did menopur which is the same as meriofert back in spring last year for a round of ovulation induction, that was a bit more intense as it’s a full needle and syringe but just do what works for you. So long as your hands are clean it doesn’t really matter about ice / wipes / rubbing it etc. jusy whatever is comfortable. Are you doing tummy or thigh?

My tummy is all over the place. Constipation for days, followed by the complete opposite, only to have constipation for days again! 🙈

Hi, can I join the group as well please. Going to be starting my second round of IVF, have my day 2 scan tomorrow and injections starting then too. Sadly my first round stopped as I had premature ovulation, still reeling from that and feeling scared but trying to stay hopeful and positive for this round.

@FlutteryButtery2 @GCS34 thanks for the tips! I won’t bother with the alcohol wipes then. I think it irritates my skin as it’s so strong. I’m doing them in tummy. Rotating sides at the moment. I’ll ask about thigh at my next appointment. Might be good to have additional options for injection sites.

@SP83 welcome! Sorry to hear about your premature ovulation last round. I’ve not heard about that before. I hope you have a good second round though!

Hey @SP83 welcome to the clan 🤗So sorry your first round didn't work out. Did you have the meds to stop you ovulating etc? It's just so shit when stuff like that wrecks your plans. Fingers crossed for number 2. Are you on the same protocol or have they tweaked it?

And we are literally twins - my first cycle didn't work and I have my scan and starting of injections tomorrow too! So hopefully that's something of a lucky charm buddy 🍀

@SamVan Just do what works for you. I wasn't even advised to do alcohol wipes, was just told clean hands, and clean skin aka no body cream on the area or whatever. With the injections, I think the antagonists are usually in the thigh, and I alternated legs each day with those. The stims I think I varied depending on how tender I was feeling. Is Gonal-F an epi-pen?

How are you finding things, when's your first scan? You said you had high AMH, did you say you had PCOS? sorry personal question central but I feel like given we've talked about shitting and farting the last few days, why we're doing IVF is mild 😂

@HighflyingUnicorn probably though I'm not 100%. I just know they give more to people with certain medical history. Having had a miscarriage, I'm going to be on injections as well as pessaries if it is successful, and up until 18 weeks which is a delightful thought!

@FlutteryButtery2 how are you getting on? Have you manage to have / book a consult in yet?

@GCS34 oh thanks no one’s mentioned anything about thigh injections to me. I’ll need to check with the nurse. I don’t think I have PCOS. If I do no one’s told me! I just know my amh is on the high side at 34. Im feeling good about it so far! A bit of tingling and twinges around my ovaries but might just be in my head tbh. How are you feeling about starting stims soon?
