IVF/ICSI May or late April

Is anyone else gearing up to do IVF/ICSI in May?

My meds have arrived and I start my down regs next week to start a long protocol ICSI cycle, my egg collection will then be mid-May.

Had my first ICSI cycle in Feb which resulted in only 1 embryo which was transferred on day 5, but BFN. I found the support group on here super helpful with my last cycle, so wondering if anyone else is in a similar position?

@AnnieStar12 6 is great still, positive vibes coming your way - let's hope they have a little boost over the next few days! I know mine definitely grew a lot in the days in between the monitoring scans!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

It’s so lovely to read all the positive journeys and outcomes gives me some hope when quite frankly I’m not sure how I feel!
I had my 2nd scan this morning after they doubled my meriofert after Monday and only a handful seem to have grown to a decent size all the rest are small still. So been sent away again with meriofert and gonal-f to do over the next couple of days and back Friday for another scan. Been told my egg collection is provisionally booked for Monday so I’m not sure what will happen if they still aren’t happy with the quantity on Friday 🤷‍♀️

Fingers crossed @Gnatalie16 what day of stims are you on now? Mine took ages to get in to gear (not that many were there!) and I was so panicky but the nurse said I was still early days at day 10, and after 2 more days of stims over the weekend they grew. Plus the trigger ripens them up and they’ll have a couple more days of growth there. So hard wondering about things at every stage of IVF isn’t it, but try and stay calm and positive. Keeping my fingers crossed for Friday! I was on the same drugs as you ☺️

@HopefulllHolly I'm just the most impatient person in the world so I don't help myself 😂 I'm on day 10 today so your probably right still time I just need to keep positive but we all know how hard that is with all the if buts and maybes on this journey

Haha I’m impatient too don’t worry @Gnatalie16! I would like to say it’s easier after that but after egg collections it’s even more of our favourite thing WAITING 😭 I’m honestly going mental and it’s been one day since transfer. I’m also convincing myself I have symptoms 😑 which I KNOW aren’t real. It’s a slippery slope to being a certified headcase for me 😅😅
Hang in there! A couple of days and you’ll be able to stop worrying. They are obviously confident if they have booked you for a collection. You’ll have done the same amount of days as me of stims by then!

@HopefulllHolly yes feeling better thanks! Still super bloated and ‘tight’ but I walked a lot more today than I have done in a week which was good. Can’t help symptom spot like you but also keep flip flopping from being convinced it hasn’t worked to talking to the embryos (and of course feeding them burgers!)

Haha I know the waiting does send us crazy @HopefulllHolly when do you test then? I don't know how I will be on the 2 week wait I think I will go insane and like you everything will be a symptom 😅 I think I will end up testing earlier because I will drive myself to insania otherwise and my poor other half he will be irritated by me by the end haha

I had my baseline scan today, everything looked good and as it should at this stage so we’ve got the green light to start stimms tomorrow!! Anyone else on Bemfola? Egg collection is pencilled in for 20th which seems so soon! I feel like the next few weeks are going to feel like an absolute whirlwind!

@CreamLampshade ahh that’s good! Glad you’re feeling better! Yeah it’s a horrible yo-yo back and forth of emotions isn’t it. My mind keeps going to test day and how we’ll feel if it’s negative or positive. Mentally preparing myself a little.

@Gnatalie16 im meant to test on the 20th which would be 13 days after transfer. But I think I’ll test on the 18th as I don’t want to test on a Monday morning before work in case it’s bad news as I’ll just have to phone in sick. And also it’s going to take every ounce of myself not to start testing from like 6 days after transfer 😂😂

@Seasidegirll how exciting! Stims flew by for me, was the fastest bit of the whole thing personally! Hope it is for you!

mine aren’t bothering with a baseline just straight into stims . In two minds about ringing them tomorrow as I’m in so much pain but I don’t think I can handle it getting cancelled for an 8th time 😪

@Seasidegirll that's great news!! Stims went sooo fast for me, I honestly couldn't believe how fast the time just flew by! The 20th will be here before you know it! I wasn't taking Bemfola - is that in a pen form or just your normal injection?

I'll definitely be the same after transfer on Saturday - I'll probably test way too early but honestly I'd rather just know as soon as possible if it hasn't worked and then I just have more time to prepare myself.. but it does drive you a little crazy! My birthday is on the 18th so I will definitely try and hold out to test after that just so that it doesn't tarnish the day if it was to be bad news

Interesting your test day is 20th, mine is 17th @HopefulllHolly! I had my transfer on Monday and you had yours yesterday right? I wonder why the difference! ESP as mine was such an early blastocyst, I imagine it takes a bit longer to latch on!

Sorry to hear you’re in so much pain @Rebekah77 :( Are you allowed to take pain killers?

@CreamLampshade i think it varies across all clinics. Some of the threads I’ve read people say from day 9 to test for a 5 day transfer - which would be 14 days past ovulation if naturally conceived (so when most people’s periods would be due). So that’s why I’m thinking I’ll test on the 18th - as it would be 16 days past ovulation so I’ll definitely get an accurate result. (Really I could do it on the 16th I think 🤔)
Yeah mine was an expanding blast so it was just about ready to hatch they said, so it should have hatched today hopefully and implanting (fingers crossed!!) over the next couple of days, but it can take until day 10 - so 5 days inside you to implant, which is why some people get positive tests later than others.

I’ve got a video of our little blastocyst forming, I’ve watched it about 100 times today 🥹🙏

yeah you’d think given my two were early they’d push it back. I may as well test on the 17th I guess, I think they advise you test a week later if negative. Your early testing is a good idea I think!

@CreamLampshade Im with Care Fertility. The video is amazing, I love watching it grow and turn in to a blastocyst. Science and nature are so cool. We had monitored incubation so they take a picture every hour so it’s like a Timelapse. If your clinic did the same they might be able to give you it, could always ask them! 😊 I think the 17th will still be fine for you, god it’s gonna go so slowly isn’t it! Kind of glad I’m back at work tomorrow so I’ll be distracted.

my work is weirdly quiet at the mo… I spent most of the day pottering around the house. Probs should go in tomorrow, as you say, good to have a distraction! Feel weirdly averse to going in, I think because I wfh a lot the last couple of weeks and had a vague ‘small operation’ I’m worried all eyes will be on me and my pregnant looking belly and walk!!

. I’ve turned down a couple of social things the past couple of weeks because of what’s been going on and feel like I need some company other than my lovely boyfriend soon! He’s been working the past two days and nights so all I’ve had to keep me company are my pregnancy- obsessed thoughts!

@HopefulllHolly that's so sweet that you got the video from them. I'm with Care Fertility too I'm at the one in Northampton and can't fault them at all they have been really good. Hoping I get a video too if I get that far 🥰

TMI (if that's a thing doing this whole IVF stuff😂) but with the cyclogest pessarys are you just meant to let it dissolve in there for the foreseeable future.. as in I just feel like the inside of my vagina is SO waxy and honestly slightly gross 😂 sorry this feels SO TMI but I'm just thinking is it just meant to be like that for the whole time you take them😅
