IVF/ICSI May or late April

Is anyone else gearing up to do IVF/ICSI in May?

My meds have arrived and I start my down regs next week to start a long protocol ICSI cycle, my egg collection will then be mid-May.

Had my first ICSI cycle in Feb which resulted in only 1 embryo which was transferred on day 5, but BFN. I found the support group on here super helpful with my last cycle, so wondering if anyone else is in a similar position?

@2tuxedocats I can’t for the life of me remember if you have trigger tonight too? Sorry!! My brain is honestly like a sieve at the moment. 😩 Hope it goes well if so!!

I have to take mine at 9 so there's no time for ice pack!!!! I am literally just waiting for it to be 9 and then I'm going for it! I am only doing 5,000 instead of 10,000 though just for the OHSS risk! So hopefully one is ok 😬😬😬

@HopefulllHolly my trigger is tomorrow, apparently for IUI they only need the trigger 24 hours beforehand.

I survived 😂😂 it definitely was stingy but I did it!! Did you notice any side effects from the trigger? Busy day for me tomorrow so hoping I'm ok 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Nah no side effects @Ashleighlouise and I was on double your dose. You’ll be fine for your plans tomorrow.

i spoke too soon on the progresterone… was weeping tonight at The Piano on tv.. great series but don’t think I would have cried that much without these suppositories lol. Also had a massive afternoon nap which is very unlike me!!

Ah well done @Ashleighlouise - glad it wasn’t too bad! Almost at egg collection, how exciting!!! Hope you feel ok tomorrow. I was fine, defo quite bloated!

Just done my trigger 24 hours ahead of tomorrow! It bloody stings doesn’t it? My wife was laughing at me swearing at the needle mid injection 😂

Yeah it really does @2tuxedocats well done on getting it done!! I was also so bloated by the time I did it that it felt like it was having to go through muscle 🤣 I guess that didn’t help. I had a red mark and a bruise from the trigger.

Hi all, sorry been away from the boards as both myself and my partner have come down with sickness and diarrhoea 😫. The worst time!! It's been really bad.

On the plus side @HopefulllHolly we have a potential embryo that can be transferred on Tuesday 🥳🥳🥳 the other one is growing but slowly/not as expected so might not make it.

Going to ring the clinic tomorrow if we are both still unwell... or just ring them to check we are ok to come in. I'm really worried they'll say we can't transfer.

@Feelingmindful welcome! I'm so pleased you have been able to progress with your cycle. Hoping you get lots of lovely eggs! I think I will look at booking some acupuncture soon sounds like it would be beneficial for either outcome.

@AnnieStar12 Yay I'm so pleased you've been able to start! Great news!

@CreamLampshade I had similar symptoms when I had my son and I'm feeling like it now and it's unlikely it's ohss as I only had a few follicles. However my sister who also had successful IVF felt this to start and she definitely had ohss and her symptoms became much worse when she was pregnant. Basically... it's worth ringing up the clinic and letting them know as everyone is slightly different. Sorry I can't provide more reassurance but I can say that in my case it was all ok! So happy to hear you have 2-3 embryos. Sending all the positive energy that they continue to grow and develop well!

@Rebekah77 yay for having a surgery date booked in! Fingers crossed for incoming weigh-ins!

@wishfulbean Oh nooooo! Sorry you’re both taken out with the lurgy. I’ve heard quite a few people with that at the moment that they caught off their kids. Whole families taken down with it, the worst! Hope you’re managing to get some rest and plenty of fluids. I’m sure if you’re feeling better on Tuesday it’ll be fine, hopefully not contagious by then. Sending you hugs!

Amazing news on both your little embryos still growing away. I keep managing to distract myself but then my brain goes to the thought of Tuesday and I feel sick again. I really hope ours are growing too. The fact yours are gives me a very tiny bit of hope. ☺️

such a bad period this is rotten timing just trying not to freak out can’t reach clinic until Tuesday anyway . Had 4 lots of provera but isn’t completely stopping

typical when I’ve now booked the day off work for collection . Hopefully won’t cause a delay

I've been so busy today I haven't really thought about egg collection tomorrow! Now it's the evening and settling down I'm starting to feel a bit nervous!

Are there any last minute tips? I've got a lavender face mask I'm going to do soon and I've got some anxiety medication to take before bed.. hopefully have a lovely peaceful sleep 😂😂

@Rebekah77 why would your period delay the treatment schedule? Are you not suppose to bleed at this stage in your cycle?

Typically, I'm on day 3 of stim meds and am coming down with something myself, feel all achey and headachy like I'm about to get a heavy cold. Argh!! Feel like this is the worst luck IVF cycle ever!!

@AnnieStar12 No I’m starting provera to schedule things shouldn’t be bleeding at all stims don’t start until 19th so this is a bit of a nightmare !!

The progesterone has kicked in today - wow do I feel rubbish. I’m bloated so much it hurts, cramping, constipated, sore boobs and I’m so grumpy. Not at anything in
particular I just feel generally really annoyed. Also very sleepy but keep waking up in the night about 3/4am and can’t get back to sleep. So yeah I am CRABBY today.

@AnnieStar12 thank you! Just taken some anxiety meds and about to go up to bed in 5 😂

Oh bless you @HopefulllHolly I've felt super irritated tonight as well and very snappy which is unlike me at all! We've had a busy day and OH is already nodding off on the sofa and I'm like 😤😤😤😤 because I wish I was just blissfully unaware and could feel relaxed and tired 😅😭 hopefully in the next few days you'll get used to the progesterone and the side effects won't be too bad.
